ERICA'S TRAVEL: The Strangers land

Chapter Six: Do you dare?

(Riveria) 

" I wonder what this meeting is all about?" Princess Adunni asked in curiosity 

" Didn't your mother tell you anything about it? " Amanda asked 

" The queen never tells me anything, she just gives the order and expect me to do as she says" princess Adunni responded 

" Let's go to the gathering, the queen demands every merman and mermaids to be present there" Amanda said 

" I am not going; she probably doesn't want me there" princess Adunni said 

" You are the future leader of Riveria, the biggest and strongest kingdom among the two other kingdoms; Oceania and Marco " Amanda said 

" Alright fine, I should be there" she replied. 

It didn't take up to ten minutes before one of the queen's royal guards comes to inform princess Adunni that the queen requires her presence at the gathering. It really surprised her because the Queen never needed her opinion or presence for anything. 

When she had gotten to the gathering, she bowed to the queen and the Riverian bowed to her too before she sat on the royal sit made of shiny shells. 

" You all must be wondering why I suddenly asked you to gather here? " The queen said knowing the questions in their heart 

They all nodded their head in curiosity eager to know her reasons as they fear another war might have started somewhere 

" This gathering today is good news" the queen said and the Riverian exhaled in relief. 

" I have come to share with you something that will favor these kingdom" the queen said 

Shouts of joy were heard as they all started hailing the queen for always wanting the best for the Sirens and Riveria. 

When the queen raised her hand, there was a total silence at the gathering. 

" This is a big news for a long and peaceful reign in Riveria " the queen said. Every siren focused their attention to know what is this bigger news that will maintain peace among them. 

" Princess Adunni will be betrothed to one of the Princes from Oceania or Marco, they will be arriving here in three days' time for the ceremony" the queen said which shocked princess Adunni to the bone. 

The Riverian shouted in happiness of the queen's wise decision. This means that one of the sea kingdoms will be joining hands with them, this will make Riveria stronger if their princess marries one of the Princes 

The queen looked at princess Adunni who was lost in words from the shocking news. 

* * * 

(Bellaire city) 

" Oma" her mum called out from her room 

" Yes mum" she answered from the sitting room, she rushed out and headed to her mother's room. 

When she opened the door, her mother was all dressed up in a beautiful cooperate wear. 

" How do I look?" She asked 

" Pretty as always" she answered 

" Good, I am going for a one-week business trip; the message got to me late this morning" she said grabbing her small traveling bag 

" Ok, safe trip mum" she said as she reached out her hand to help her carry it 

" Don't worry about the small bag, just take care of this big house" she told her which made Oma blinks her eye twice 

"I will mum" she responded 

" You must, and don't think that when I am gone you can freely do whatever you want; My eye are everywhere" she told her demonstrating it with her hand that her eye were really everywhere 

Oma looks around as her conscience tells her there might be a hidden camera "I will mum" she said forcing out a smile on her face.

" I prepared some foods for you; they are in the refrigerator, don't forget to lock the doors and don't let strangers in" she said to her,

She bends closer to Oma's face " who knows; I might even be back before a week" she said again 

Now this really made Oma worry as her mum just kept her in fear with those words. She watches her mum drove off with her car before she locked the gate. 

Immediately she turned her back to leave, she screamed at the sight of Erica at her back. 

" I am going to die before my time if you keep on scarring me like that" she said 

" I heard Mr. Hansel will be throwing a fu... fun fundraising party next week" she said with so much concern about it. 

" Do you have anything special for him or what? For the past four days I had known you; you kept on asking about anything related to him" she said curiously why moving away from her 

" Where is he throwing the party?" Erica asked not minding what Oma would say. Oma paused for a while before turning back to look at her. 

" Even if you know, you are not welcomed; you are not a politician nor related to any of them starting from the fact that you have no invitation" Oma said laughing at the fact she even thought of that 

" I can go in; I just need the location" she said with so much concern 

" You know one would think you are a serial killer, a stalker or one of these psychopathic fans of Mr. Hansel. Do you even dare show your face especially the fact that you don't even know who you are? " Oma said looking at Erica 

Erica smiled briefly why looking at her. If Mr. Hansel was in Riveria, he would have been dead by now in her hands but in the human world; she has to follow the process in other to make a clean getaway or avoid anyone been suspicious of anything. 

" Why are you looking at me like that?" Oma asked when Erica had been quite why starring at her for the past few minutes. 

" What if I told you I can?" She asked her 

" Then I will help you find out who you are and let you stay longer here , my dad has connections " Oma said making a deal with her. 

" No, you will help me with something else" she told Oma who just stood there wondering what would be more important than one finding about her own identity.

( Riveria) 

" Now you are trying to get rid of me mother! Do you think I don't know your plans and motives? " Princess Adunni asked the queen angrily once they were out of the sight of the Riverian 

" And what is my plans young mermaid?" The queen asked looking at her 

" You are trying to wrap everyone that would be a trait to you at the palm of your hand, you just don't want anyone who opposes you to be close to you" she angrily said 

" If you knew that; you should have behaved well and not follow in the footsteps of your father" the queen told her 

" I will never follow in your footsteps, never! I will fight you no matter what, I will ruin all your plans starting from opposing the marriage" she angrily said to the queen 

" Fight? How are you going to do that when you are so weak?" The queen questioned her icily 

" I am not father, I am not Erica who follows you blindly, I will make sure that even the Oceania and Marco does not take your side in future" princess Adunni angrily said to her mother.

The queen smirked at her

" I almost got scared" she said in amusement. She comes closer to her daughter's ear and whispered into it 

" I am the great queen of the sea; I can renounce you as a princess and you will become just a mere mermaid just like every siren in Riveria. you won't even dare me" the queen threaten. 

(Oma searching her wardrobe) 

" None of my fancy party clothes would fit you, you are taller than I and weighs more than I too" she said 

" What about your mum's? Her dress looks nice and fancy" Erica said 

" Don't even go there, her clothes are one of her most valuable possessions" Oma said 

" She wouldn't notice" Erica said 

" Absolutely no! My mum turns into a scary person when you break one of her rules, don't be mistaken by her kind lovable face and gestures" Oma warned 

" I can handle it; you just have to do it" Erica gently told her.

Oma grunts in annoyance jumping slightly 

" How are you able to get me to change my mind all the time? I am beginning to believe in charms" Oma said. " Are you perhaps using a charm on me?" She asked. 

"Maybe" Erica responded

Whatever" Oma responded

(After the four days test of at Bell-aire high school) 

Oma jumped on top of the bed in relaxation as Erica continued reading some books on her hand 

" You can still remember to read?" She curiously asked 

" Yes, this is one of the special things that was taught only to those who follows the queen. We were trained to read the human words" Erica said not minding Oma's blank reaction that moment 

" I shouldn't stress my brain even thinking about what you just said, I just finished my test and i need rest" she said to her

" I know you won't bother that's why I said it" Erica said looking at her.

She closed the book on her hand. " Tomorrow is the day for the fundraising, it's my day too" she added 

"Yea... I know your majesty" Oma said bowing to tease her.

Her phone beeped; she took out her phone to know who sent her a message. After reading the messages, she raised her head up looking at Erica 

" We have a problem" she said to her.
