A bitter smile took over Kai’s lips as his fist clenched, he could hear the sound of the heavy rain pouring outside but he’d be damned if he spent one more second in the Benson’s house.

“I don’t know what you want me to tell you but I did not steal your gold bracelet.” He said bitterly, utterly disappointed by what they had done to him.

He hadn’t only trusted them but he gave them his all, it was almost as though he lived only to please them.

He had just come back from a trip that almost took his life because he wanted his sister, Nora, to live a normal life and what did he get for that?

Accusation, betrayal and lack of trust.

“GET YOUR FILTHY SELF OUT OF HERE OR I’M GOING TO MAKE SURE YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE YOUR LIFE!” Nora snarled as she threatened.

Kai didn’t say anything as he turned his back on them as calmly as he could and walked out of the house with a bitter smile.

He walked under the heavy rain despite his condition and in the heavy rain, his steps came to an abrupt stop when he felt a pain in his chest.

The pain was so sharp, so intense that he felt like he was being torn apart. He struggled to breathe and taking one more step was also agonizing.

“Shit! Why now?” Kai said through gritted teeth. He knew that it was his illness flaring up again and he didn’t have the antidote with him.

Covering his mouth as he coughed, Kai looked at his hand to see blood. His eyes turned, pain rippled from his inside out and his knees started feeling weak.

Everything around him looked like they were being turned upside down, his chest palpitate and the pain was so acute that he couldn’t even move forward.

There, amidst the downpour, Kai collapsed on the ground. He felt like his entire body was on fire, the pain was eating at him from the inside.

His mouth opened as he writhed but there was no one around to help put him out of his misery and as Kai laid on the ground with the rain pouring down on him, his throat was raw with unuttered shouts for help.

While he was in pain, he didn’t notice that the necklace around his neck was flickering. The light was shining so bright but he failed to notice it.

He was in too much pain.

In a grand and luxurious hall, an elderly man was staring blankly at the crystal in his hand. This was the only way for him to find his grandson.

He had been trying for years to find him but all efforts proved futile, everyone he had deployed to find his grandson didn’t even get a hint of where he might be.

The old man had given up on making people search for his grandson and had resorted to waiting for the moment that his grandson’s powers would be activated.

He was already on the brink of despair, at the verge of losing all hope but he still held out because he could feel it within him that he was going to find his grandson.

The crystal stared right back at the old man without a single flicker of light. The old man soon began to feel an acute sense of loss.

He didn’t want to accept that his grandson was dead, the thoughts of it alone tore at him but now, he would have no choice but to accept it.

“Will I never see my grandson again?” The old man, already at the edge of complete loss of hope, said to himself.

“It’s been years now and I still haven’t gotten a signal.” He sighed but just when he was about to look away from the crystal ball, something caught his eyes.

He blinked twice in hopes that he wasn’t just seeing things, he wanted to be sure and there it was again!

The crystal was glowing, at first with tiny flickers of light but the more the crystal blinked, the brighter the light became, fueling this old man’s hope.

Soon, the crystal burst into a dazzling light, full and radiant, indicating that he shouldn’t lose hope yet because he was going to see his grandson very soon.

“It’s happening! I found him!” His voice was low at first but when the light became blinding, he jumped out of the chair he was sitting on, overwhelmed with excitement.

“HE IS ALIVE! I FOUND HIM!” The old man yelled happily, jumping with excitement without caring about his age or what people thought.

Damon, the man’s right hand man, hurried to his side to find out what’s going on, “What’s the matter, Sir? What’s going on?” He asked.

“It’s Kai!” The old man responded out of sheer excitement, “his necklace has finally been activated after years and years of waiting!” He added.

“MY GRANDSON IS NOT DEAD! HE IS ALIVE!” His voice echoing and reverberating in the grand, luxurious hall.

“MEN!” He roared and everyone immediately assembled before him, waiting to hear his announcement, “My grandson is alive and I want you to find him!” The old man said.

There was a murmur in the huge hall but he silenced everyone with just the raise of his hand as he continued.

“As you all know that I have been waiting for when his power would get activated because that’s the only way I could find him.”

“Years upon years has passed but the waiting is over!” He said happily, “I want each and every one of you to follow the crystal's guidance and find my grandson immediately.” He ordered, urging them all to find his grandson.

“YES SIR!” They all said in unison and at his command, everyone sprang into action, doing everything in their power to immediately carry out the order they’ve been assigned.

Dozens of luxurious cars sped out of the mansion, following the crystal's direction in search of Kai.

He had finally found his grandson and couldn’t wait one more day to meet him!
