General Anderson was suspicious of what the great goblin said and didn't believe that he fought against Arthur as most of the Behemoth's enemy had met their end.

And so, he challenged the great goblin to a sparring session to test the great goblin.

On the other hand, the great goblin saw General Anderson as someone unfitting to fight against Arthur and agreed to the spar to see if the General was is a good fighter or not.
