Chapter 9: Stealth

After dealing with much of the problems back at the 10th floor, Arthur decided to continue his journey in climbing the tower.

Although his plan to transport all of the players from the 10th floor to 9th floor doesn't seem plausible anymore, since he had gotten a report that the guild wouldn't be able to afford that and will only be able to spread the message to all the players in the tower to go the 9th floor.

Arthur then teleported to the 25th floor, he was just 5 floor away from the 30th floor which was the floor that the Behemoth Guild was trying so hard to block.

He jumped above the roof of the buildings and jumped across one after the other, running around at high speeds wouldn't work anymore, if he was caught by any members of the Behemoth Guild, only God knows what might happen to him.

He finally arrived at one of the buildings that was just near the portal gate of the 26th floor.

He stood on the roof and looked at he portal, it was guarded by a few Behemoth Guild members. 'Hmm, 5 men, this shouldn't be a problem.' He thought. But before he glided down, he saw that they were carrying some strange weapon.

Suddenly one of the normal players threw a bottle at one of the Behemoth Guild member. "Screw you criminals! You can't stop me from entering the gate!" The player said while running towards the portal gate.

However in a flash one of the members pointed the pointy weapon that they were carrying and a lightning bolt striked the poor player down.

Arthur's eye widened as he looked at the weapon. It was strong. The attack power was something comparable to the likes of the Deos-8, in other words, in the hands of the 5 Behemoth Guild members was a weapon that could potentially hurt, or maybe even kill him.

'Going in there and attacking them normally would be suicide, I need to be stealthy.' Arthur thought to himself.

He then removed his bulky suit to be more lighter and to avoid the Behemoth Guild members from seeing him. Arthur looked at the sky, it was still bright, and the sun was about to set. "Better to wait for now. If I attack them, they will see me." He told himself before entering into the system shop and started scrolling to find a armor that would better suit this situation.

He then found a black suit that looked almost skin tight but had amor on the chest head and everywhere that could cover his vital points.

He then waited for the sun to set completely and for it to be night. He walked right to the edge of the building and saw that the Behemoth Guild members that were right in front of the portal gate, and it seems that they were discussing about something.

Arthur was interested since whatever they were talking about seemed interesting and so he put a bit of mana into his ears and he could hear what the Behemoth Guild members were saying.

"It seems that the Behemoth won't be coming here." One of the members said.

"Well, they told us to guard this place. So we will guard this place." Another member said while circling the gate.

"Oh what would use would we have even if we were blocking him from entering the gate? He is practically unstoppable! Remember that he actually destroyed a whole army of us! But we are only five! He could destroy us already if he was here." The first member said.

"I thought that we were doomed as well, sent by the higher level members to kill us. I even thought that I might have angered one of the leaders and that is why I have been sent here. But turns out, the reason why they are really confident in sending only 5 of us is because of this." Another member said while showing the weapon that they were carrying it.

"Isn't this weapon only capable of shooting out lightning? I know that it is good, but is it really capable of killing the Behemoth?" The second member there asked.

"You better believe it. The Behemoth Guild has been going crazy in trying to create a weapon that could put a demigod into hibernation, and this is one of them, they call it the wand of Zeus." The first member said. "So this weapon, will kill Arthur for sure." He added.

Arthur shook his head realizing that he was in deeper trouble than he realized. 'Wasn't the Hellbringer the only weapon that they have created to hibernate a demigod??? I didn't know the Behemoth Guild would have progress this far already!' Arthur thought while starting to worry.

Arthur took a stone and infused it with mana, he them threw it just in front of the Behemoth Guild members and the stone exploded.

"What's that!" The first member asked.

"Looks like a mana infused stone that just exploded! It seems someone is here! Spread out!" One of the member shouted.

Arthur then saw the member that just shouted, "Hmm, since he is the one that is giving orders, he must be the leader commanding the other Behemoth Guild goons." Arthur told himself before looking at the leader whole standing at the roof, crouching to avoid being seen.

"I think the stone came from here!" One of the members said pointing to the building that Arthur was on.

Arthur then lied down on the roof since the Behemoth Guild members were looking at the top of the building.

"Sigh, must he some stupid kid trying to play a prank on us... Grenade!" They shouted before a grenade fell right beside Arthur.

Arthur saw the grenade and jumped and roll to one of the large boulder that was on the roof and took cover there. Boom! The place where the grenade landed exploded.

'They knew I was here? How?' Arthur thought before infusing a bit if mana into his eyes to get X-ray vision.

As he looked at the Behemoth Guild members, he realized that the reason why they saw him, was because they were using the X-ray vision as well.

'They definitely know that I am still here and just pretending that they don't. But how am I gonna get out of here with them having those kind of weapons?' He thought before realizing that the X-Ray vision had very poor tracking vision of things that didn't have mana and was always moving. The bird that was flying right above the building couldn't be seen because the bird didn't even had a hint of mana on it.

Arthur then concentrated and blast out all of the mana that was in his body and spread it out around the area.

Suddenly, the The Behemoth Guild member then was blinded by the sudden mana blast and couldn't use the X-ray mana vision anymore.

Arthur quickly gone onto his system shop and tried finding a x-ray vision goggles that didn't need to use mana. Unfortunately, the system shop had mostly only items that uses mana as it is just much more effective and more simpler to make. But luckily for him, there was one goggle that he could find that didn't require any mana charge and was completely using electricity, it was a second hand item but Arthur wasn't gonna complain.

He then put it on his head and turned it on. He could see the Behemoth Guild members that were getting closer and realized that if he stayed on the roof for any longer, the members would get to him.

Arthur jumped and glided onto the building right on the opposite side of the building that he was on, but he could still see the gate from here.

He then saw the Behemoth Guild members getting up on top of the building, "He is definitely here. He must have been injured from the mana grenade." The first member said.

The second member walked towards the boulder that was on the rood and touched it. "No, he is no longer here." He said while pointing on the boulder. "Look at it, there are sands and footprints here, while the grenade exploded right there, he might have hidden here for protection." He added while trying to find more traces.

"Then he must have jumped to another building, or maybe he has already escaped from here." The first member said.

Arthur heard what they said and started panicking, 'Its only a matter of time before they realize that I am on this roof!' He thought.

He then cleared up his footprints before going into the window of the building he is in and entered the highest floor.

He scanned the place again and confirmed that this place was really empty, 'It seems that the Behemoth Guild has taken measures to make their operation much more smoother. Professional, I like it.' He thought before he looked at one of the cabinet and entered it to hide.

Shockingly, the X-ray vision goggles that he just bought had another interesting feature, and that was he could listen to nearby voices if he looked at the source of the voice using the X-ray vision.

"Following the footsteps it seems that he might have jumped from this building to that one." The second member said while pointing to the roof of the building that he was in.

The first member looked at the fourth member that was there, "Any luck on the mana X-ray vision?" He asked.

The fourth member shook his head, "No, it seems that this person, who might be the Behemoth, has taken out all of the mana in his body and will not be using them anytime soon." He said.

"Hmm, continue scanning. Who knows? Maybe he will be forced to use mana." The first member said before he and the other members jumped to the roof of the building that Arthur was in.

"Hmm, weird. There are no footsteps here..." The second member said.

"Could he have jumped to another building then?" The first member asked while looking at the other buildings to see if Arthur was there.

"No, that's impossible. He definitely jumped to this building. I calculated the last footprint, and it is impossible if he had jumped to any other building but this. Or maybe he glided down and ran away." The second member said while trying to find any other footprint desperately.

"He might have cleaned up his tracks and have gone into this building." The third member said while taking out a mana powered flashlight. "Considering that our target might be the Behemoth we can be sure that he might have done this, or maybe even more." He added.

"I found it!" The second member said while on the edge of the building. "There is a footprint here, he definitely did enter this building." He said as he jumped it o the window right beneath him.

"There are a lot of slight footprints debris here!" The second member said while following the footsteps of Arthur.

He then saw it leading up to the cabinet. He ran straight back to his other 3 colleagues and pointed at the cabinet, he didn't need to tell them, they already knew what was up.

They quietly walked up to the cabinet and pulled out their weapon and started firing it with lightning.

The cabinet was destroyed badly, there wasn't even a debris of wood left, only ashes.

"He is not here..." The second member said while trying to find the remains of the Behemoth inside of the ashes.

"Anything?" The first member asked.

"No, nothing. It seems that Arthur had lured us here on purpose." The second member replied while scratching his head.

The first member then realized what was going on and his eyes immediately widened.

Arthur didn't need to kill everyone to enter the gate he just had to sneak inside. While the four members entered the building to find for Arthur, only one remained in front of the gate to guard it.

"Crap! We have to go now!" He shouted and ran through the window and landed on the ground right in front of the gate.

The other three Behemoth Guild members followed him and saw what happened.

They saw the 5th member on the floor knocked out unconscious, still alive, but unconscious.

"Wake him up." The first member ordered the fourth member.

The fourth member then walked towards his fainted comrade and started slapping his face, "Hey wake up!" He shouted.

The 5th member woke up and looked at his other colleagues that was standing up. "Did you get him?" He asked.

"Get who?" The first member asked.

"The Behemoth! He chocked me from behind." The 5th member replied.

"Wait, if he chocked you from behind, then doesn't it means that he..." The 3rd member said before the 1st member interrupted.

"The Behemoth has already gone through the gate!" The first member shouted.

A few minutes ago...

The Behemoth Guild members were walking and checking the roof, and Arthur who was inside of the cabinet realized that there was only one member left in front of the gate.

And so, he came out of the cabinet and while walking down, he cleaned his footsteps and walked out of the building, he then jumped as high as he could and glided right behind the fifth member and chocked him out.

And he entered into the gate, all without getting attacked, not even once.
