Church of the Etenal Night. The organization Drake had faced when he was dragged into this new world for the first time. Their goons were called disciples and usually wore black cloaks while those of higher positions took different colors.Hed forgotten all about their existence, after all he never met any of their lackeys while traveling to the mainland. Still his hatred for their kind never died and the moment he laid eyes on them it all flowed out. "Uuu…"As he glared down at the church's disciples Drake was suddenly shaken out of his anger by a pained voice. Lily who was in his arms held her head, her body trembling as if she was in great pain."Ah! Lily! Did I scare you? I'm sorry…"The pressure he emitted disappeared and everyone were finally able to breath again. The two black cloaks standing by the wall took out knives and daggers then prepared to attack, however the two sitting on the sofa stood up and stopped them before they had done something stupid."We're leaving." Said
A moment of silence followed Drake's question. The two men sitting across from him looked at each other and sighed' not bothering to hide their annoyance at the topic."Since you're both Challengers, you should already know what's at stake right?" The chief asked in a tired voice."Well, everyone are trying to find the Nexus so they could go the the land of the gods, or something like that, right?" Drake replied. His goal had always been different front the others' so he didn't bother to remember the details. To Drake, his life was on a timer until he found the Nexus towar. Doing so would help him reunite with Rollo who seemed to know a way to get him back to his world. Drake didn't care less about the land of the deities or what other people want from it. He just wanted to kick the red haired boy's ass and force him to return him to his world. "Right." Crissing his arms, the chief slowly nodded his head. "The church is trying to get its people there as well and because of that they
Drake sighed as he processed the new info he had just obtained. The church is seeking the Nexus with a goal befitting religious fanatics, he could imagine them using some not so ethical methods to get there. He glanced down at the child sitting beside him. If his clash with the black cloaks was inevitable, he feared that they might target her to sway his resolve. Just thinking about it made his blood boil and Lily felt it, glancing up at him with concern in her eyes. That's right. Drake thought, patting the little one's head with a smile. Nothing has changed. I've resolved myself to take care of her. Be it the church or whatever, anyone who tries to harm her will pay for it.Coming to that realization, drake decided to put the discussion about the church to an end. Or so he wanted, however the others seemed to want to discuss the matter with Laura for a bit longer.Ling story short, since she was from one of the most prestigious and influential noble families in the Ouroboros kingdo
The Ironclad workshop had many rooms filled with blacksmiths working under its banner. Some were apprentices still learning the craft while others were full fledged craftsmen capable of making the highest quality equipment in the kingdom.Ironclad, the workshop's chief, was the most skilled among them, earning his title and position through dedicated, hard work and most importantly innate skill. He was one of the few Smith's to have a room of his own. It was a bit dark. The furnace was on and melted metal bubbled over the fire. Scraps metal, ingots and unfinished works were scattered around. Near the wall to the left the finished pieces were put to display; armor of different sizes, weapons of all kinds and some shields here and there. Some of them were made out of beast bones and scales."Alright then." Said Ironclad as he put his work ipron on. "What kind of weapon do you want.""A one handed sword of medium length" said Drake, holding his hands up to show the approximate size of hi
"A magical weapon, huh." Laura said, mindlessly staring at the blue sky. "Wish I could get one too.""You heard the old man. Those things aren't easy to make." Drake said. "Not to mention, the materials needed are nearly impossible to come by."The two had left Ironclad's workshop and were now on their way back to the inn. Getting a little tired Lily decided to take a nap. As he spoke, Drake tried to be as quiet as possible, though that seemed unnecessary as the little one ignored the surrounding bustle of the city as she slept peacefully in his arms. "I get it, but…" Letting out a long sigh, Laura looked at him with half lis eyes. "You're already at an advantage with two high grade Souls. I don't think it's fair that you're getting a powerful weapon as well.""Well, luck is a big part of being a Hunter, I guess." Drake replied with a wry smile. The old man at the smithy requested for Drake to let him use the Frost King's Feather to creat another weapon once he was done with the cur
"I have a few extra Souls I would like to sell." Drake said as he approached the counter."I see." The man nodded his expression unchanging. "As you might already know, before we decide whether or not to accept your offer I must evaluate the Beast Souls you are offering." The old man explained. "Do you happen to have one on you at the moment?"Seeing that Drake didn't have anything that resembled a bag the clerk thought he was just here to ask questions. As usual his reaction was the same as everyone else when he witnessed Drake pulling a small glowing orb out of thin air. "Then please wait here for a few seconds. I'll return shortly."The old ship keeper disappeared behind the door at the back. Less than a minute later he returned holding something that looked like a ceramic plate. On its surface a circle was drawn with strange symbols surrounding it.The old man placed the object on the counter and straightened his posture. He then took out a pair of gloves from his pocket and pro
'None of this suits you… you should just head home…'As she sat down in the bathtub, Laura repeated the words in her head. What Drake said had bothered her more than she liked to believe and because of that she had been absentmindedly staring at empty air for a while now. The sound of water splashing brought her back to reality. Turning to the left she saw the Beastkin child leaving the tub. Before she could say anything to her Lily began shaking her body spraying the surroundings with the water absorbed by her hair and tails. "I guess that should be enough…" said Laura, deciding to get out as well. Even after saying those harsh words to her, soon after they arrived to the INN he came tk ask her for a favor. He wanted to bathe the little one, however he felt uncomfortable doing so, saying it would be more appropriate for another girl to take care of such things to avoid troubling the little girl. Obviously Lily was still distrustful of anyone other than Drake so she refused to go
This will definitely be something to look at in the future.Drake sat down on the side of his bed checking the video he had recorded earlier. He had forgotten all about it, but the system had a part in the Travel Logs called "Gallary". When he went to check it he realized it was full of photos of the places he had visited, or to be more accurate if they captured the first thing he saw when arriving so not all of them were the stunning landscape photographs taken by professionals. Each one was accompanied by a sheet of information relevant to the location, or at least the stuff he had learned about it.There were photos of the beasts he had seen as well, one of them being of the Doomsday Herald. Just seeing it made him grimace so he ignored it and went to watch the video. When it started playing the window expanded until he could no longer see the edge. With the recording being taken from a first person perspective it seemed like he was reliving it instead of just watching, though the
