"Finally a decent bed!" Throwing himself on the soft mattress of his rented room, Drake finally allowed himself to relax. The screening took quite a while and by the time he got into the city the sun had already set. After parting his way with the group of travelers who stood ahead of him in the line the first thing he did was find himself some lodging to spend the night. He wasn't in the mood to go out for dinner so all he did was produce a jar of dried fruit from his inventory and along with some deer jerky and cold water he had a light dinner and was ready for some eyeshut. As he began to drift into the dreamworld his mind went back to the conversation he had with Loki and his group.~◇~"You see, Drake. The land you've been living on is just a big island.""... what?" The news were quite the shock to Drake.Through his three months stay in this world he had come to believe that the snow covered lands were in some corner near the north pole. The terrain and image didn't give the s
A couple of minutes later the old woman returned asking for Drake to follow her. She took him to the second floor of the association's building and into a dimly room much more extravagant than anything he had seen since comming to this world. The furniture itself was different, crafted from high quality wood to look like works of art. Paintings of hunters facing an assortment of beasts filled the walls along with some old weapons put out for display. At the far end of the room was a large desk behind which a man sat with fingers intertwined in front of his face. The shadow from the back of his chair made it difficult to see his face but the light reflected on the glasses he wore made it appear as if they were painted with a white color."You can leave now." The man said and a second later the double door behind Drake closed."So you're the one with the god class Soul." The man said after a few seconds."I don't really know what you're talking about." Drake replied."I guess it's only
"I guess you don't want to hear about the Nexus."The moment he heard those words, a sinister aura exploded from Drake filling the entire room. The old man was stunned. Though he had realized the boy wasn't mentally stable he failed to predict such a switch would come so swiftly. But his surprise didn't last long. After all if he wasnt able to withstand this much pressure he would never have survived a day in that office."What did you say, old man?" Drake was pissed. He felt that his time had been wasted and he didn't like it at all. The chairman knew something he wanted yet he'd played him so far. He didn't want it to continue so he made it cleare with each word that came out of his mouth."Calm down calm down. I already know what you want, I don't plan on hiding the answer as well so dont look at me like that."The lack of seriousness in the chairman's expression did nothing but anger Drake even more, however he forced himself down with a deep breath before going back to his seat.
"By the way." Drake started. "Apparently I need to get to this Ouroboros kingdom in the next nine days. I might not be able to come along to your hunt like I promised." "Really? That's too bad." Said Edith. "But you only have nine days? Will you be ok?""Why?" "Well, you have to travel between four different islands to get there. Finding ships won't be easy.""But the chairman said I can make it.""It's not impossible but…" sighing, Edith massaged her temples as she tried to think of something. "Let's go and ask around the coast for now. Hey, maybe you'll be lucky enough to find a ship that'll leave tonight or maybe tomorrow.""Um… maybe I should go on my own. I feel like I'm asking a lot of you when I can't even keep my promise to go with you on a hunt.""Haha, don't worry about that, hunters are supposed to help each others. Besides, you can just buy us some drinks and we call it even. We can always go on a hunt the next time we meet.""I see. Thanks for the help, I really appreci
Edith waited a few minutes after they left the alley where the thugs ambushed them before speaking. Her excitement was clear in her sparkling green eyes."That was so cool!!!" She exclaimed. "I didn't see anything at all! They couldn't even move! How did you do it!!!?""What are you talking about?" Drake said with a raised eyebrow. "It was just a normal Quick step.""A Quick Step!!? No way! That skill isn't that fast! Are you sure it's not a Flash Step or some more powerful speed type skill?""Nope. It's just an ordinary Quick Step.""Then…" she furrowed her brows as she tried to come up with an answer "your Beast Soul… is it a speed type…""Hmm… I dont think so." Drake said. "It's quite balanced, I think."In terms of stats, his Baby Night Wing's strength was the highest, but the rest were pretty close. He didn't like to think much about them."Well, that doesn't really matter." Drake said. "I'm worried about those thugs. I doubt they'll just let this go.""You can bet on it." Edith
"Why would you want to risk your life like that? Can't you just… hunt here? Pretty sure there is a lot to do on the islands."Loki's tone was calm and serious. He looked Drake in the eyes as if trying to convey something. Drake didn't look away showing that his determination was unwavering."I only want to get stronger." Said Drake. "And I don't exactly have time to spare. If the beasts on the mainland can provide me with the Souls I need then I will go there and hunt."His answer caused the other three to stare at him. They all knew from the moment they met but now his words confirmed it; he's the other type of hunter. There are two types of people with the occupational of a Hunter; those who took it as a normal job and those who became Hunters because they enjoy hunting. The first type was much more careful and calculated, never taking risks beyond their means. The second type on the other hands always look for adventures and new beasts to hunt, because of that very few of them liv
"WE'RE FLYING!!!?" Drake shouted as he finally came to the realization. His three companions finally allowed their laughter to burst, holding their stomachs unable to stop."Man, that was a nice reaction." Said Loki."Yup. Ignorant country bumpkins are always a pleasure to watch." Added Roland. It wasn't just the three, many other passengers and some of the crew were looking at him and smiling in amusement. Drake wasn't the only one to be surprised by the large ship suddenly taking off. Some of the other passengers shared his reaction, most of them being on their first trip off the island."Hey Drake!" Edith called, waving at him to come near the edge. "You need to see this!"Walking over Drake peeks his head and was once again surprised by what he saw. Under the ship was a gigantic creature with a form much similar to that of a whale. It was blue in color and had large fans that extended like wings. Under it was a purple ring made out of light that seemed to push the whale and the s
"That took a while." Said Drake as he stretched his limbs."It's less than half a day." Said Loki."Well, sitting around for that long isn't really my thing." Drake was unable to sleep during the trip, even so he found himself surprisingly energetic once they arrived.Sharpstone wasn't as large as Iceland, however it was still quite large. It wasn't just a massive rock floating in the air though. According to Roland just like the rest of the floating islands Sharpstone rested on a massive bubble filled with water which gave the illusion of it being on the ocean surface despite it being hundreds of meters up in the air.It was easy to tell where it got its name from. Everywhere he looked he could see some strange black spikes scattered around. Upon further examination he realized they were some kind of volcanic rock, though it's impossible to deduce their source."The ships that fly to Goldenwoods dock on the other side of the island." Said Roland. "We want to get there as fast as po
