"That took a while." Said Drake as he stretched his limbs."It's less than half a day." Said Loki."Well, sitting around for that long isn't really my thing." Drake was unable to sleep during the trip, even so he found himself surprisingly energetic once they arrived.Sharpstone wasn't as large as Iceland, however it was still quite large. It wasn't just a massive rock floating in the air though. According to Roland just like the rest of the floating islands Sharpstone rested on a massive bubble filled with water which gave the illusion of it being on the ocean surface despite it being hundreds of meters up in the air.It was easy to tell where it got its name from. Everywhere he looked he could see some strange black spikes scattered around. Upon further examination he realized they were some kind of volcanic rock, though it's impossible to deduce their source."The ships that fly to Goldenwoods dock on the other side of the island." Said Roland. "We want to get there as fast as po
A couple of minutes later the arrest of the party started hearing the old woman's voice as well. Soon enough they spotted her walking slowly between the trees and checking behind the bushes."Hello!" Drake was the first to show himself. "What are you doing here, granny? This place isn't safe." Though he said that, they still had yet to meet any magical beasts since entering the forest."Hunters!" The moment the woman saw them her eyes went wide and she immi ran over. "Please! Help me find alv-!"Before she could finish she went into a fit of coughing. Edith walked over and gave her a water skin. After a few gulps the old woman breathed in relief then gave her thanks."First of all you need to calm down." Drake said. "Take it slowly and tell us what's going on.""Yes… I'm looking for my grandson…"The old woman's name was Ela and she came with her twelve year old grandson Alvin to the forest that morning to gather some tough mushrooms. She had dozed off while taking a break and when s
The cave was filled with luminous moss so they party didn't have to light a torch. The more they advanced into the dimly lit cave the heavier the atmosphere got. No one dared to speak they all kept their ears and eyes open ready to take action at any moment. The cave seemed to widen the deeper in they went. Soon enough it was wide enough for them to walk comfortable and after a while they arrived at a large cavern where the beast using the cave as a lair lived. They saw the mountains of white bones and the ground black with dried blood. It was a nauseating sight and they all had to fight the urge to puke. Drake was unfazed though, carefully scanning the cavern. His eyes fell on a large black rock with a white spot on its top. [Silver Back (B) lvl 55]"That's the Silver Back." Loki whispered. "As I said, the kid is dead. Let's retreat."Drake looked at Loki and said"We can't retreat now. Besides, this is the perfect chance, right? You've been wanting to hunt for a while now."Loki
"Hey, why the long face?" Loki asked."I… don't know… something felt off about that Silver Back." Drake said. The party had arrived at the next city. Roland and Edith went to the port to check on when the next ship to Goldenwoods would depart while Drake and Loki went to sell the Silver Back's corpse. "Maybe it was suck or something?" "Nah, magical beasts don't catch illnesses." Said Loki. "It's the one of the good parts about becoming one.""It wasn't injured As well. I wonder what's going on with the beast these days." This was the second time something weird concerning magical beasts occurred, though it wasnt as wierd compared to a Crimson lord appearing in the summer. "Well, no point in thinking about it." Said Loki. "We're hunters. Our job is to kill beasts, as long as we're able to do that we have nothing to complain about." The two soon arrived to a shop that buys and sells materials extracted from a beast. The owner was a tired looking middle aged man with hair that was l
The trip to Goldenwoods was much shorter compared to the one between Iceland and Sharpstone. It was still night by the time the party arrived. Thinking it would be for the best if they got some rest they looked for an Inn and spent the night there.Once the morning came they gathered once more to plan their next move.Unlike the last time they decided to take a carriage to the next port city. They had already wasted enough time on the last island so they couldn't afford to do the same with this one. They managed to reach their next destination before the sun set but there was one problem. The ship going to Ironside would depart in the next morning so they were forced to stay a second night on Goldenwoods. With nothing that could be done they had to patiently wait. That night Roland and Loki went out to drink and ended up going too far almost missing the ship as a result. Edith gave them a long lecture forcing them to apologize to Drake. The trip to Ironside took about nine hours. D
"So the beast in question is a… Thundercloud?" Edith said sounding a little perplexed."This doesn't sound good…" said Roland. "Don't tell me…" Loki looked at him with a weak smile."Yes. Thunderclouds are beasts native to the mainland. Specifically in the Golden Darkness mountain range near Ouroboros kingdom." Roland explained. "If I have to guess I would say it got separated from its flock and somehow ended up drifting here.""That's quite a long distance from its home." Loki sighed."Thundercloud, huh." Drake said looking at the info poster he's unable to read. It contained a sketch of the beast in question. It looked like a giant black serpent with traces of gold here and there. A small stickman like figure was drawn beside it to show how bit it was and from the looks of it it was about twenty meters long and about two meters wide."Have you seen one before, Roland?" Drake asked, looking at the tallest among them."Not from up close. They usually stay in their flocks and rarely e
"So, Laura. What do you think our odds are?" A man asked, his eyes locked on the paper in his hands. "Not very good, I would say." A young girl replied, her fingers moving a pen as she scribbled something on another piece of paper. "We've gathered the numbers, but they're all amateurs when it comes to working in big groups. I'm afraid that would prove to be a big problem during this hunt.""I get what you're saying but…" sighing once, the man added. "We don't have a choice."The girl sighed as well, slowly shaking her head. Just then they heard a knock on the door."What?" The man said, annoyance cleared in his voice."Soldat, I've brought some people who want to participate in the hunt." "Hank, huh. Bring them in."Drake and the others had followed the man named hank to a certain inn. Waiting for them in one of the rooms was a pair of Hunters, one was a middle aged man with rough features and a brown toned body. His long black hair was bushy and unkempt, the bloodshot eyes peeking
"Scaring away an SS tier beast? Yeah right." Drake said as they exited the inn where they had their meeting with the leaders of the Little Giants. His annoyance was clear. Before this everyone thought he wasn't being serious when he spoke of killing the Thundercloud, however seeing his reaction to what Soldat and Laura said, a strange feeling began to ring the danger bells in their heads."C'mon Drake." Said Loki with his usual aloof smile. "You didn't really plan on killing the Thundercloud, right?""Ah I will kill it, alright."His answer only seemed to put the whole party on edge. "You aren't being serious, are you." Said Roland in a serious tone."Of course I'm being serious." Drake said. "From what I've heard so far it seems like a chance like this doesn't come by so often. Only an idiot would waste it.""Or maybe sane people who don't want to die." Loki retorted."I know you like your adventures, drake." Said Edith looking concerned. "But this isn't something you can decide on
