A DIFFICULT TASK

NADIE’S P.O.V.

I used to go out and see people at night when darkness is everywhere.

That is the time I felt safe.

However, I never knew that there will be a day that I stand in the afternoon sky where the shadow of the trees hid me from the sunlight.

I am not allergic to sunlight.

It’s just that I live in the dark for too long that being under the sunlight gives me a foreign feeling.

It’s as if I forgot the feeling of living with the bustling noise of the people, the honking of the cars, people walking on the street, chatting as if there is no tomorrow.

I felt so exposed, that I was naked under the afternoon sun.

But what can I do?

My legs moved to step on the trunk under the wings of the tree leaves. This is the only thing I can do so no one will notice me.

But why?

Why are they going where a lot of people are headed?

Can’t Hyria go to a place where few people come?

I can not protect her if there are a lot of people.

I sit when I saw Hyria in the crowd with Shier.
