He moves forward but it pained him when he saw that she move backward. He felt that something is building up inside his heart that tightens his chest and caused him discomfort.
"What? You can hug every man in there and I can't?" He tried to corner and hug her really tight but she slapped him hard leaving him a shocked.
"I said stop it." Her voice is cold and flat. From that moment even if he can't admit it, she is not the same Rhianne he knows.
"What do you want Mr. Erdino?" He felt a shiver straight through his spine. He utters no word, his heart twisting in pain. He never thought that hearing his surname is quite painful.
That's when he set his usual poker face.
"Why did you resign three years ago, is it because I ask you about the cool off?" This time she doesn't say anything. When she said nothing he continued.
"We are just cooling off, why did you resign? I didn't ask you to resign and get lost in my life." He said coldly. while she is staring at the ground.
"I have my own life, Mr. Ernido. I owe it to myself." He couldn't believe what he just heard. He felt that his heart was punched so hard that it will burst. How about him, he lost a part of his life.
"If you don't have anything to say, I will go back to the cottage. Please don't do this again, it may cause controversy for both of us and I know you don't want that." He grabs her on her wrist. There is no way in hell that she's going to stay in a cottage full of men. Dean drags her into his room.
"No, you don't. You are going to stay in my room."
"Are you nuts!, will you stop joking."
"What? Last time I check we are just cooling off and not breaking up. So technically we are still in a relationship." She
struggles in his arms pulling her very own arms.
"For me cooling off and breaking up are just the same, so don't force me. We are not in a relationship." This time she struggles like crazy as if her life depends on it but he didn't make it easy for her.
"Let me go.." He heard her crying causing his body to paralyze. He just stands still and lets her go. Rhianne let herself fall to the ground subbing, she wipes her tears. After a while, she walks towards the cottage but he walks in front of her.
"I said I want to go back.
"And I said no." He said with finality. He used a kind of tone that no one will try to disobey.
"What is your problem?"
"There are a lot of men in your group and you are the only woman. There is no way in hell I let you stay in there.
"And there is no way in hell that I will stay in a room with you." Every woman on the set and even the contestants knows Dean's
room and if others know that she is staying in his room, it will be a big controversy. She doesn't want to be on a headline in this crucial stage of the competition.
"Then I will accommodate another room for you."
"This is a competition where I am participating. Your action will complicate things." She said feeling overwhelmed by their situation.
"There are four men in that cottage." She just couldn't believe it. He is acting like a jealous boyfriend.
"Are you jealous?" She asked while he stood silent. Then after a while, he opens his lips.
"Yes." He whispered.
She just open her mouth in her disbelief.
"Why are you doing this?" Dean walks slowly towards her causing her to step backward.
"We are still in a relationship and that means you are still mine."
"I think we are using a different dictionary, cool off or breaking up is just the same."
"Tell me do you have a man? Is that why you left me?" she is shocked.
"You are the one, who asks for that cool-off thing. Now you are turning the blame on me?" She asked hysterically.
"Then why do you leave?"
"Because I am sick with my life and desperately want to pursue my dream!"
"Because of your damn dream, isn't it a bit selfish?" He gripped his right hand.
"Yeah, I am selfish, this is me. Now please let me go." She said flatly.
"No," He said stubbornly.
"Can't you just pretend that you don't know me, just like you always did?" That hit him. He grinds his teeth and gripped
his fist. She walked through him and run without turning back.
30 minutes later...
After he thoroughly read the profile of Rhianne, now he understood why he cannot find her. She lived in California and
used a pen name as Levie, a jewel designer. According to her profile, she is a young promising designer herself. It is something that he didn't know, come to think of it he doesn't know a lot about her. He touches the beautiful picture of her and he cannot help to reminisce about when Rhianne is alone.
Flashback...
The moment he opened the door, someone grabs and hugs him tight. He smiled and moved closer to hug her too.
Dean automatically tucks his head between the shoulder and head of the petite lady in her arm and inhaled deeply.
He loved her smell, it is both cool and sweet, enough to sway all his problems and calmed him down.
"Do you miss me?" He nods slowly and she blushed as the sun stood high above them.
