Laimer’s gaze darted back and forth in fear as he asked the questions.

Susan was pretty much the most important person in his life. Laimer may have been careless about his wife Susanna because even though he loved her at the time he married her, he realized that he loved her only because of her beauty.

Susanna developed a terrible sickness a few years after giving birth to Susan and even though Susanna recovered from the sickness, she became pale compared to the way she was previously. Her face had black spots on them and Laimer felt that she was no longer the lady that she married who had all the endowments that his youthful desires craved for.

Laimer began to act irresponsibly and he started cheating and sleeping with other women, coming home late at night, and giving Susanna all sorts of lame excuses.
