Robert and Droppel’s eyes were wide with a terror of dread and their legs shook with a horrified shake of fear. They knew that the agent knew who made the statement and they feared what he might do to Laimer.

The earlier statement that he made about him being trained to kill was what was playing in their minds.

Laimer didn't have any words to respond to the agent as he raised his head to the agent, his face tinged with terror.

“Come on, talk to me. Weren't you the one who said the cuff was too tight and you want it removed because you need to ease yourself?”

Laimer’s terror was so overwhelming that he could only offer a mute nod in response. His face was dripping with sweat even the simplest physical gesture he made was a manifestation of his terror.
