Della had monitored the time and she realized that it wasn't even up to 10 seconds that Brody went offline.

“But why did he go offline just after the message was sent,” Della spoke out but was still deliberating in her mind.

“Don’t worry, he probably has to do something. I am sure he will be back online.”

The group all had their eyes waiting with anticipation as they hoped that Della was going to come up with the news that Brody had finally come online and give a response.

“Or perhaps I should send a follow-up text,” Della suggested, her tone laced with desperation.

“That may be a good idea,” Alan responded. “But we have to be sure what we are sending.”

“I will just type that I am Rose’s errmmm—”

“Rose’s friend,” Alan completed the words for her.

“You are right,” Rose remarked. “We really can't tell him that I am her mother. He would be scared. A friend is the best word.”

Della’s eyes then moved to her laptop as she prepared to type the response.
