Daemon, Lockheart, and Nyaru sat on the grass of the Main Floor, engaged in conversation. Lockheart appeared weary, her expression marked by fatigue. Nyaru, on the other hand, had lost interest in the discussion and rested her head on the grass, observing the ants crawling on the ground.
Daemon took on the role of explaining the cave dungeons on Floor 3 to his companions. He began by describing their first dungeon battle.
"We'll be venturing into the Cave Dungeons on Level 3 for our upcoming battle," Daemon started.
"As you may know, each cave dungeon has its unique theme. There are ice caves, fire caves, underground caves, and so on. The particular cave we're about to enter is the Undersea Dungeon," Daemon continued, glancing at Nyaru.
Nyaru, having abandoned her observation of the ants, turned her attention to Daemon. "Yes, nii-chan?"
"If we encounter any enemies in the dungeon that resemble octopuses or have tentacles, make sure to keep your distance. We never know what tricks the creatures programmed by the Kuudere Dev might have up their sleeves," Daemon cautioned.
Lockheart frowned, a mix of concern and curiosity etching her features. "Daemon, what are you planning?"
Ignoring Lockheart's reaction, Daemon proceeded. "Lockheart, as usual, I'll rely on your buffs. However, this time, there's an additional task. Use the weak Area of Effect attack of the Buffer class on ranged sea creatures while I handle the melee ones. And be mindful of your MP usage."
Lockheart stepped back, concealing her confusion. Daemon then turned to Nyaru with instructions.
"Nyaru, your main responsibility for now will be healing us as your MP replenishes. Can we count on you?" he asked.
Nyaru nodded eagerly, a bright smile illuminating her face. "I'll do my best to protect you all!"
After teleporting into the cave, Nyaru and Lockheart surveyed their surroundings. The cavern seemed like an ordinary cave, with stalactites hanging from the ceiling and a stony ground. Daemon directed their attention to a red ring situated in a corner of the cave.
"Place your teleport crystals inside the red circle to initiate the dungeon," Daemon instructed.
Following his command, they dropped their crystals within the circle, causing them to vanish instantly. The stalactites and stones disappeared, replaced by corals and sea sand. The walls of the cave were adorned with starfish, creating an undersea ambiance.
Nyaru clapped her hands, filled with delight. Daemon continued to guide them.
"Equip your weapons! Enemies will soon make their appearance."
Giant crabs materialized within the cave, emerging from huge mossy boulders that sprouted from the sea sand. Perched on the rocks were mermaids brandishing wands tipped with blue crystals.
Daemon unsheathed his Mythril sword, issuing a command. "You two, take care of the mermaids. I'll handle the crabs."
As the mermaids raised their wands, aiming at Daemon, blue triangles formed beneath his feet, signaling an incoming attack. Lightning began to descend upon him, but he managed to evade the strikes, tumbling to the ground.
Lockheart targeted one of the mermaids with his wand and unleashed a green light. The mermaid fell from the mossy rock and tumbled to the ground. Lockheart addressed Daemon with excitement.
"Daemon, it seems like your strategy of focusing on the mermaids is effective for this battle. At the moment, your damage output is less crucial."
Meanwhile, Daemon sprinted toward the giant crabs. He swung his Mythril sword, aiming at one of their claws. As the crab attempted to close its claw around the blade, Daemon leaped and sliced the crab's claw before it could fully tighten its grip.
The creature shrieked in pain and charged aggressively, swinging its other claw. Capitalizing on this opportunity, Daemon vaulted onto the crab's second claw and dashed toward its head. Reaching the top, he thrust his sword into the crab's eye. As the creature writhed in agony, Daemon remained perched atop its head.
Soon, the crab ceased its screams and disintegrated into amber particles, vanishing completely.
"One down, Lockheart! How are you faring?" Daemon inquired.
"I've dispatched two more mermaids, but they keep respawning, and avoiding their attacks is proving challenging," Lockheart responded, her voice filled with determination.
In an instant, lightning from the mermaids' staff struck Lockheart. She swung her meter, unintentionally hitting her head on the mossy rock. Her health bar shifted from green to orange.
Daemon turned to Nyaru, issuing a command. "Nyaru, heal Lockheart!"
Nyaru extended her fingers, aiming her hand at Lockheart. A red string of light emanated from Nyaru's fingertips, rushing toward Lockheart and enveloping her body. Lockheart's health bar transitioned from orange to yellow.
For the first time, Nyaru, Lockheart, and Daemon were fully engaged in a battle that truly challenged them. Lockheart and Nyaru occasionally displayed fleeting smiles, indicating their enjoyment of the moment. In contrast, Daemon remained focused and serious, fully understanding the gravity of the situation. He exerted his utmost effort to lead Lockheart and Nyaru, ensuring their safety.
Observing Daemon, Lockheart's smile faded, replaced by a thoughtful expression. "Why can't he simply loosen up and enjoy a moment with us?" she pondered to herself. She had grown tired of this dynamic. Whenever she interacted with Daemon, the conversation invariably gravitated toward the game itself. Lockheart chuckled inwardly, realizing that Daemon's Neet otaku nature no longer bothered her as much as it did when they first met. She had gradually become accustomed to his eccentricities. Furthermore, she had come to understand that Daemon was not an "incel." If he were, he wouldn't even consider forming a friendship with her. The root of Daemon's behavior stemmed from elsewhere.
However, Daemon's perception of herself and Nyaru as mere killing machines in the game, rather than individuals with emotions, bothered Lockheart. It was starting to push her to her limit. She had endured being dragged along thus far, but now, she reached her breaking point.
As Nyaru, Lockheart, and Daemon defeated all the creatures within 20 minutes, the moss rocks vanished from the surroundings. Lockheart and Nyaru rejoiced, celebrating their victory. Yet, Daemon silenced their jubilation.
"Hold on, the battle is not yet over," Daemon warned, pointing to the center of the cave. Slowly, a single mossy boulder began to rise from the cave's depths, growing in size until it reached a height of five meters. Three mermaids appeared atop the boulder, emitting shrill cries. The cave trembled, causing Nyaru to tremble in response. Lockheart and Daemon tightened their grip on their weapons, prepared for what lay ahead.
The battle against the Sirens intensified as Daemon realized Lockheart's attacks were ineffective against them. Frustration filled his eyes as he glanced at Lockheart, desperately wanting to find a solution. Her wand emitted feeble green lights that barely made a dent in the Sirens' health bars. Clenching his fist, Daemon made up his mind. "Enough, Lockheart! Stop attacking. It's my turn now!" With determination, he leaped onto the boulder, searching for a strategic advantage. Finding a moss-free ledge, he swiftly ascended and positioned himself directly above the Sirens. In a display of acrobatics, Daemon performed a backflip, driving his sword into one Siren's chest upon landing. With a swift kick, he sent the other Siren tumbling down the boulder, where it vanished into oblivion. The echoing sound of its demise resonated through the cave. As Daemon prepared to face the remaining enraged Siren, its screams pierced the air. Caught off guard, Daemon lost his balance and plummeted fi
Lockheart's battle against the Siren reached a critical point as her HP bar turned a dark shade of red, and her MP was rapidly depleting. With the boss still at half health, Lockheart teetered on the verge of succumbing to the Siren's influence. Just as the pleasant melody in her head began to fade, Nyaru rushed to her side, leaving Daemon momentarily. "Sister! Are you okay?" Nyaru exclaimed with concern, her fingers spread open, emanating a red light from her right hand and a blue light from her left hand, which enveloped Lockheart. As Lockheart's HP and MP bars slowly filled up, Nyaru anxiously asked, "Sister, are you okay?" The fading melody was abruptly replaced by the Siren's piercing cries. Lockheart warned Nyaru, "Nyaru, you shouldn't be standing here! The closer you get to the Siren, the more damage you'll take!" Nyaru's smile remained unwavering as she replied, "But sis, we can't defeat the creature if I can't replenish your MP, right?" Lockheart nodded in agreement, and
Daemon, Lockheart, and Nyaru materialized on Floor 4, their arrival marked by a sense of annoyance that hung in the air. Exhausted from their previous dungeon expedition, they had missed the Floor Boss event. Adding to Daemon's frustration was the lingering effect of the Siren's curse, which caused his head to throb uncomfortably. As they teleported, the trio found themselves standing near a bridge that overlooked a river flowing into a vast void. The map of this particular floor was significantly smaller than others, consisting of a single location with an entrance. Nyaru and Lockheart marveled at the sight while Daemon motioned for them to hurry along. Crossing the bridge, they were greeted by the sight of a city. The city on Floor 4 was a charming place with stone park roads, brick houses, and small gardens adorning each residence. Lamps hung above the roofs, casting a warm glow over the surroundings. Compared to Floor 1, the houses had a slightly more modern design, and instead o
Nyaru, Lockheart, and Daemon strolled through the lively streets of Level 4's bustling city, soaking in the sights and sounds of the virtual world. As they meandered, Daemon expressed his desire to find a second sword, prompting their visit to the bar once again. The door swung open, and Daemon ventured inside, leaving Lockheart and Nyaru outside. The bar was abuzz with players engaged in hushed conversations. Lockheart, perplexed by the mysterious atmosphere, turned to Nyaru and voiced her confusion, "Why is everyone whispering?" Nyaru, ever observant, replied with a hint of excitement in her voice, "They're forming guilds before the guild system opens! Most high-level players like Daemon are already at Level 49, and they're preparing for the guild rush." Lockheart shook her head, slightly overwhelmed by the intricacies of the game. As they prepared to enter the bar, Daemon interjected, urging them to wait outside. Closing the door behind them, Lockheart and Nyaru exchanged curious
Teleporting to Floor 5, Daemon found himself engulfed in darkness. He strained his eyes, but there was nothing to see. Nyaru, clutching Lockheart's hand, trembled with fear beside him. In a flash, the entire floor was bathed in a vibrant blue light, revealing a floating circular platform crafted from polished black marble. Daemon averted his gaze from the platform and noticed a series of interconnected circle platforms on Level 5, connected by staircases made of gleaming white marble. Looking upward, he marveled at the sight of constellations glowing with a mesmerizing blue radiance. Some constellations gently floated across the sky, while others remained stationary. As the players adjusted to their surroundings, the staircases vanished, leaving only the central circular platform. It was then that the formidable boss, known as [Floor 5 Soulscapes: Soulhunter], materialized before them. Soulhunter, draped in a flowing black cloak, possessed a skeletal left hand that protruded through

"A YEAR AGO..." Daemon sat alone in his dimly lit room, seeking solace in the virtual realm. The weight of isolation bore down on him, and the taunts of his classmates echoed in his mind. The computer screen flickered, casting a pale glow on Daemon's face as he engaged in conversations and immersed himself in online games. Through these interactions, he found a refuge, a place where he could express himself and grow in confidence. Each conversation was a small victory, a step toward overcoming his struggles. Suddenly, the sound of his father's voice pierced through the virtual world, jolting Daemon back to reality. His heart sank as he braced himself for what awaited him. Daemon reluctantly made his way to the kitchen, where his father stood, anger etched across his face. On the floor lay a discarded chocolate wrapper. "TAKASHI! COME HERE!" Trembling, Daemon approached his father, anxiety knotting his stomach. He tried to explain, his voice quivering, "I must have dropped it last n
The group gathered eagerly around the table, their attention fixed on Haruto, who cleared his throat to address them. "Alright, everyone, you know why we're here. We're forming a Guild, and we're in this together," Haruto declared with conviction. Ren clapped her hands excitedly, while Rem nodded in agreement. Daemon and Lockheart exchanged smiles, their enthusiasm evident. Nyaru, on the other hand, dozed off intermittently, her eyes fluttering open occasionally. Haruto continued, capturing everyone's attention, "I will cover the cost of creating the Guild, and in return, I'll assume the leadership role. Until we reach the maximum number of members, no one will be granted a rank solely based on friendship. All members must work towards the Guild's success to earn their positions." Daemon found himself taken aback, recognizing Haruto's ability to captivate and inspire the group in such a short time. "He certainly has leadership qualities," Daemon thought, raising his hand with a tin
