Chapter 3 Conquering Aslup City Part 2

The three hundred troops in front of Erdan immediately moved.

Various explosions were heard everywhere. At the front, Aslup City's troops seemed to be mocked by the enemy because long-range magic attacks were always matched with similar magic attacks. Even worse, their attacks were weaker until the bandits managed to break the battle formation. Nevertheless, they still tried to organize their attack patterns to avoid close combat.

Even the esper of Aslup City, who were experts in close combat, could not take any steps. Although Esper were known to be stronger than mages, but they could feel that the bandits' attacks were on a different level than the average mage. Many of their comrades even fell when provoked to face off one-on-one.

Explosion after explosion rang out relentlessly. The mages of Aslup City suffered considerable losses. If a magic attack in the form of a fireball or a bandit's ice spear hit the ground, the explosive effect could make them nauseous or give them nosebleeds.

Meanwhile, Kidnagan was taking care of the Golden Army that was targeting him. When Kidnagan intervened, the bandits seemed organized to increase their distance. Every punch and kick that managed to hit the opponent would end up taking lives. The Golden Army consisting of 4th-level mages and 3rd-level esper was no match for him. The esper's spear throws and arrow attacks; fire bursts, fireballs, ice spears, and other magic attacks were even welcomed using punches and kicks or mere evasions.

Kidnagan's clothes began to fall apart and his body began to be bathed in enemy blood. Even so, his breathing did not seem to be labored. A single kick could still cut through an enemy's body or crush their head. Kidnagan was indeed brutal, but in reality, this behavior was only natural because dying in one piece in a battle between paranungsa was a miracle.

"Saber! Show me your plan, quickly!" Kidnagan's loud shout made the enemy flinch.

Saber, who was sitting back and enjoying the atmosphere of the battle, laughed as he realized Kidnagan was starting to make an issue of the fishy smell of blood.

"Alright alright!" Saber stood up while raising his hands and stretching his fingers. "My elite troops, show them some secret magic!" he ordered.

"Ready!" The bandits responded to Saber's command.

Instantly Kidnagan waved both hands until a strong wind appeared that had the effect of widely blocking the enemy's view.

The troops of Aslup City looked confused as the enemy troops disappeared in a puff of dust. They certainly realized that Saber had big plans for this situation. They approached each other and formed a group in anticipation of a surprise attack. The troops's left hands now held shields taken out from the storage in another dimension.

In just milliseconds, the bodies of Aslup City's troops formed holes of varying sizes. There were screams everywhere as they realized that most of their comrades-in-arms had simply died without understanding what was happening.

One more gust of wind instantly dispelled the dust that was obstructing the view. However, when they saw that the bandits had formed a single-line formation, the Aslup City troops thought that the sight covered by the dust was better than seeing the formation.

"Attack again!" Saber's voice rang out loudly.

The hundred Saber Troopers lined up at the very front and began to demonstrate how the previous attack worked. With both palms facing forward, metal projectiles sprung up and shot so fast that they pierced the bodies of the Aslup City soldiers.

Erdan V Aslup was wide-eyed at the sight of the magic. "Mineral elements?! How is that possible?!"

Erdan was so upset by the fact that the enemy had such rare and deadly magic. The old man couldn't think straight anymore because the defeat this time didn't come from strategy, but rather an imbalance of power and knowledge.

"It can't be allowed anymore! That demon boy must die! Prioritize the power to kill him!"

"Ready!" Exclaimed 65 of his elite troops consisting of 20 4th-level esper, 25 5th-level mage, and 15 main nobles.

"Attack the Demon Boy to the death!" Erdan exclaimed. The man whose hair had partially turned white jumped off the horse and ran so fast.

The sound of cheering echoed across the battlefield. The 65 men also ran with Erdan. As accompaniment, the remaining front troops also joined in the cheering and formed an acute-angle formation in front of Erdan's group.

Seeing this, Saber looked at Kidnagan who seemed to be thinking about the enemy's fate. "Kidnagan, should I send troops or 'Executives' to fight them?"

"There is no need. Right now the enemy is expecting victory to the point of delusion. They dare to die in the hope that someone else can realize that noble dream. They are too easy to finish off."

Kidnagan walked over and picked up the sword lying on the ground. With a blank stare, he began to demonstrate a gladiatorial-type attack stance that could rapidly condense the waves in the body.

The voices of Erdan's troops sounded louder and louder. But when Kidnagan disappeared, the cheering instantly turned silent.

Before eyes could see the figure of Kidnagan who had stood behind Erdan's army, the sound of a powerful boom and a strong gust of wind first grabbed everyone's attention. When the dust settled, Saber and the bandits could only be dumbfounded by seeing human bodies sliced with parts no bigger than a fingernail.

All of Aslup City's fighting forces had vanished.

Saber and the bandits certainly didn't expect that the white-skinned youth who had lost his upper clothes would be able to kill the enemy's strongest troops. They cheered with joy. However, Kidnagan was silent and seemed to be mesmerized by the sky above the palace of Aslup City.

The sound of victory cheers rang out clearly but Kidnagan remained silent as he stared at the sky. In his vision, he saw a luminous smoke that felt so soothing. He couldn't look away when he saw that smoke. Especially when he took a breath to attune his heart to the phenomenon, he was caught up in thought and heard a prayer-like murmur. Kidnagan heard the murmur of a girl constantly chanting pleas for salvation.

Kidnagan confidently inquired through the thought waves that permeated the city, "Who are you?"

The glowing smoke disappeared as soon as Kidnagan tried to interact. Kidnagan felt nostalgic because the phenomenon opened up a little memory before Kidnagan lost his memory. Kidnagan could remember the smiling lower face of a beautiful woman. Kidnagan guessed that it was his mother's smile. Although it was not very clear, Kidnagan was convinced that the memory was related to his past.
