“In the beginning of time, there was nothing but emptiness until light shone into the abyss, creating a figure of a man.”
“From the light he created the lands, the seas, and the lamp that serves as their guide wherever his creations go.”
“However, this light also casted a shadow, and from those shadows formed a womanly figure. The man was not mad, but instead glad with her presence. For it is of her presence that death came into being, and it is of her promise of eternal life after touching her darkness makes his world equal.”
“In the end, both beings from the light and dark combined their powers, creating a guardian that gave life to their creations, assigning it to look after the worlds created.”
“The woman from the dark was Yin, the man from the light was Yang, and the land which Yang made was named after the guardian assigned to take care of their creations…”
“The Goddess of Elements, Esteria.”
…
The knocks made Skeet wake up from a shallow slumber. Curious at who on Esteria would knock at this late night, he opened the door from his room, yet no one was there except for him. If those knocks were not from his room, then where could it be? He already looked around the rooms next to his on the third floor, but there were no signs of knocking nearby. He also checked the rooms in the second floor, yet no one else were bothered by the continuous knock except for him. Seeing no anomaly on the two floors, he decided to check the reception counter on the first floor. As he makes his way downstairs, the knocks became louder. It came from the inn entrance, hence rushing towards the door and opening it. Upon opening the door, a woman in a brown cloak greeted them. Her green oval eyes stared right into Skeet's soul, as if it pleads to them. “Pardon me for disturbing, but do you still have available rooms that I can check in?” she asked. “I’m sorry, but we are actually closed at this ti

“N-nya, here’s your breakfast…” Yumiku placed a plate of bread and eggs on the table where Teri, Eliona and Skeet were sitting. By far, no one else aside from them and few customers who stayed in for the night were around, also being served by Yumiku. “So, nya, what is this ‘favor’ that you would like to ask from us, nya?” Teri picked up a slice as she asks the question to Eliona. Skeet, on the other hand, have already started eating the egg on the platter, piece by piece. Giggling, Eliona replied, “I’d like to take Skeet with me to Fantacia.” Skeet accidentally got choked on their meal as he heard Eliona’s reply. “A-are you alright, nya??” Yumiku and Teri went to his aid. “Water, nya!” Teri ordered. “H-here you go, Skeet-nya.” Yumiku offered Skeet a glass of water for him to drink. When he finally got cleared out, he asked Eliona, “Me?! Are you serious about it?” “Of course. Once every year, we perform a certain ritual where we would require assistance from an Ester with a kind h
"Maybe I should go meet her..." he thought. Eliona noticed that Skeet already stood up after minutes of pondering. "Eh? Where are you heading to?" "To Chela. I don't want to mess with that kitsuneko when she gets mad sooner or later." And with that, he walked his way to the training room. ... Upon entering the said training room, Chela was already in front of him, crossing her arms. "Good thing you made it here, nya. I was beginning to think that you're not going to show up, nya." "Oh come now," he replied. "So, what is this private meeting for?" "Get a sword, nya." he nodded and proceeded to get a sword from the rack, "And then?" Without saying a word, Chela rushed towards Skeet, staff on hand and on a battle position. Panicked to see her attacking out of nowhere, he dodged before the staff could ever hit him. "C-chela!! W-what was that for?!" Skeet exclaimed. "Say nothing, nya." Just then, Chela continued on swinging her staff left and right, up and down- mimicking a normal
After hearing Eliona's conversation with her subordinates, Skeet decided to just sleep the night away and fixed his makeshift bed. Upon lying down, the words which her subordinates had blabbered about still rings in his head. "Argh!" he messed his hair out of annoyance, hoping for those flashbacks to disappear. Him not being an Ester never bothered him before. He doesn't even care about it. After all, does it even change the fact that he'll become an offering by those picky elves? No. But, were they actually right about their claim that he is a human and not an Ester? Not wanting to brood any further, he just lied down and slept. .... While Skeet is asleep, faint glowing lights of brown, red and blue flashed near him, causing him to wake up only to see three orbs in front of him. "Ah!" he screamed, trying to crawl backwards, but reaches to the end of the bed instead. The orbs didn't seem to make a reaction of his doing, rather it waits for Skeet to touch them. Curious as he becomes
-Western Portion of Nymphae, Fantacia- After some time of running back and forth, they have returned to the anthill where they once got stuck on. They actually were able to return there earlier than they first came to the said place, which is what Skeet suddenly blurted out, "Why haven't you guys thought about it sooner? We would've been meeting with the Mother Nymph earlier than now!" The first subordinate then scratched her head, "Our bad. Nym's creations are one of the last things we can ever think, okay? He's weird and all, but it seems like you'll need it badly." The second subordinate added, "After all, he was once an Ester too, only to become an offer to the Yang Creator, so that's basically it. Well, let's go meet the Mother Nymph now!" And with two handclaps, they transformed into dwarf-sized beings. Skeet then followed by wearing the hat Nym gave him, transforming into a human as small as the subordinates are now, successfully entering the anthill where the Mother Nymph st
-Western Portion of Nymphae, Fantacia- Exiting the said anthill, Skeet and Ylva returned back to their normal forms, and looked at the Tree of Life ahead of them. Breaking the silence, Ylva suddenly asked Skeet, "You managed to catch up what the Mother Nymph said there earlier, right?" in which Skeet promptly nodded. "Good," Ylva replied, "I actually do know of a shortcut. Don't tell Mother Nymph that I told you this." Looking left and right, she then went close to Skeet. The closeness between Skeet and Ylva caught him off-guard and speechless. "Your ear, stupid. I'm whispering it to you." Hearing it, Skeet went back to his senses and lend his ear to her, whatever she's going to whisper to him. "Listen. Did you know that the Tree of Life itself has a shortcut to and fro the three subrealms? Of course no one else knew about it other than the Oracle and her subordinates since it's just only us who can cross those shortcuts." Concluding that fact, Ylva giggled and stepped back from him
"Guess that takes care of it," the woman mumbled, "As for you, human." Those words made Skeet look at her as she places her sword on her shoulders. "This won't hurt, but if you are to give me a lame battle, then I will bore you the same way I do to this very ground. Are we clear about that, human?" Hearing those, Skeet couldn't do anything but gulp. Chuckling, the woman then swinged her sword even larger than her arms, where she would need to carry them with both hands. "Well then, show me that you're more than just another petty offer! Satisfy me in this battle, human!" ... Trying to read his enemy's moves, he raised his wooden shield for defense when she suddenly flapped her scarlet firefly-like wings, creating a strong gust away from her direction. Not wanting to be flown away, he used his shield as a barrier against the wind, which seemed to be effective enough. When the
