Mysterious Invader

The Temple of Time in Fifteen-Niverse floats above the galaxy sky on a beautiful Earth planet. There is infinite time here that does not affect the world's time or history. It is the place where the Time Watchers must guard the portal.

The obsidian gate door engulfed in glowing green portal light stood in the marble temple hall. The architecture here was completely different from human civilization. The statues in the corners of the hall serve as memorials to the founder. Half-human, half-animal creatures, or perhaps more like giants, held an hourglass in their hands. The only thing is the pillars of the hall that look like the architecture of the Roman era of man. Along the wall is a green banner flag underneath the watcher's emblem, golden hourglass insignia.

Josh sat near the portal gate. His face seems unhappy, looking at the image of his girlfriend, Lauren, in his vision of himself. He missed her so much. Being a Time Watcher meant erasing himself from history timeline. He didn't know how long it had been since he last saw her. Perhaps now the time on Earth will allow her to marry and live the life of a normal woman. Or she may turn into an old woman, close to wilt. The more he thought about it, the more he felt sad. He could only think of the good memories of the past. He still remembered the first time he saw and met her on Homecoming night. He missed the sweet kiss, the warm hugs, and the cliché lines that the protagonist in the movie, told her before she went to sleep.

"I missed you, Lauren. Do you have a good life? Have you gotten married yet? Tft! Look at me now. Still young and a teenager. But you're probably going to be a lovely mother or kind grandmother by now. Damn...How long have I not been back to Earth?" He muttered to himself in grief.

He turned his hand to look at the green ring on his middle finger. He had tried to take it off several times. Every effort was made and it was not successful. That was because the Oath of Duty had already bound him. Until he breathed his last in death.

"Tft! Damn ring!"

The reason for his suffering was that he did not want to know about her life. He couldn't stand looking at her life timeline without him. Another thing is that he is bound by the duty of having to make sacrifices to protect against the bad things that are coming to harm this world. His attempts to return to Earth were not good. He thought positively that at least it would protect the people he loved. Because now he was no longer an ordinary human being.

Moreover, there were rumors from another world sent to the Time Patrol team about the fact that people from another world were trying to invade another world for vague reasons. Therefore, he could only guard the door and waste his breath day by day.

Maybe this is a punishment from God, in his opinion.

Ryan walked into the hall and saw that his friend was sitting hugging his knees, feeling sad about his life, so he went for him and sat down next to him.

"How 'bout today?" Ryan asked.

"It's the same day, boring," Josh replied in a near-death manner.

"Don't talk like someone who doesn't want to live, my friend."

"Uh-Hhm."

"Look...I know that being a watcher is no different from being a prisoner. But think about it. We are immortal! But, um... even if we die from injuries. But we still live to watch the world change. Isn't it fun?"

"I'd say it's more of a curse than a good thing."

"Well, that's true. But at least we have plenty of time to learn new things, right?"

"If you say so."

Josh understood that his friend meant well and was trying to cheer him up so he wouldn't worry. However, the truth is the truth. The truth is that they are no different than birds in a cage, who must only wait for The Divine orders. Ryan didn't want to bother his friend so he chose to stop speaking for a word. There was no conversation after that. They sat in silence, staring at the portal gate.

"What does The Divine command?" Josh asked.

"Same as before. They want us to keep on 'Someone' who is trying to invade another world." Josh shrugged.

"Just keep waiting, huh?"

"Freaking Yep!"

The silence returned, but not for long.

"How long have you not been back to Earth?" Josh asked again

"Well... several years, maybe ten years, twenty years, or in the worst case maybe a hundred years," Ryan replied with unpredictability.

"Do you miss our friends?"

"Yeah...I missed them so much."

"How do you think they'll be?"

"Alex would marry Samantha. Of course, they were meant to be together forever, I guessed. Abby would fly to Paris to follow her dreams. Ivan would become a lawyer like he wanted to be. And Lauren...umm. I'm sorry." Ryan suddenly realizes that he shouldn't have mentioned Lauren.

"It's okay. Everyone grows in their way. I would hope that she would have a good life."

"I don't know, Josh. Perhaps you are correct that we are now no different than cursed. Everyone we know has grown up and has lived their own lives like a normal human. But we have to sit in a place where time never existed. Damn it..." This time, it was Ryan who felt like he was going crazy.

"And do you miss Charlotte sometimes?"

"Yes, I freaking missed her so much. By now, she could have been a model as she wanted and married a rich man like that bastard, Gary." Ryan jokes to himself.

Josh is starting to smile a little now. "Of course. That bastard pestered her hard. But in the end, she just ignored him with Heartless."

"Plus, I even sent a picture of me sleeping with her to mock him until he got angry that he jumped into the club's pool at midnight."

"Haha. Freaking cursed!"

"Yeah. Freaking cursed."

They laughed and enjoyed the memories of their time on Earth.

While they were laughing. The incidents that were unexpected and never thought before would happen have happened. Someone's leg stepped out of the portal gate's light. A mysterious figure in a black cloak concealing his identity appeared before their eyes. From his six-foot-tall figure, it was probably a man. His posture was unusual and didn't seem very malicious.

They immediately stood up in fright.

"Who the fuck are you?!" Ryan asked harshly.

"No one can pass through the portal gate except for fellow Time Watchers," Josh said.

"Certainly. this guy must be a Time Watcher like us." Ryan talks to Josh "Hey you! What the Niverse are you from? How did you get through the portal gate?" He turned back to ask the mysterious person.

"If someone from another world wants to pass through the portal gate, they have to pass through the Time Patrol team, right?" Josh wondered, thinking in his mind.

There was not a single answer from the mysterious person. However, on the contrary, he conjured up a weapon. A green glowing light formed droplets into pieces into a shiny silver long sword. That would be one of the answers to the question of whether that guy is a Time Watcher as well, because the magic enchanted from the ring is glowing green, The color symbol of time.

"This fucking guy is attacking the Time Patrol team surely!"

"No matter who he is, his skills are extraordinary. The Time Patrol team still can't stop him from passing through the portal gate. Be careful, Josh."

After they finished speaking in a panic, he and Ryan immediately conjured up their weapons.

"O-ring...Obtestor Telum Meum!" They both spoke and commanded the ring.

A glowing green light formed into a semi-automatic black pistol in Josh's hand. Ryan's was a long-barreled brass revolver.

The attack was initiated by Josh's side. They were shooting at the mysterious person. Even though their gun skills are at a precise level, on the other hand, the enemy side used only a sword to deflect every magic small arms bullet. No matter how much they fired, they could not harm that guy even the tip of the nail.

"Send a distress signal now, Josh!" Ryan shouted for his friend as he tried to shoot at the invader to buy time. He is still parrying every bullet shot from Ryan's revolver.

This time it was the invader who began to attack. He brandished his sword and tried to slash them both seriously, hoping that they would die. Fortunately, they have self-defense skills, so they skillfully use their guns to block like shields. But that was all they could do. They are at a disadvantage in attack range. Swords often have an advantage over guns in close quarters.

"Damn! Why is he so insanely strong?!" Ryan said

"Perhaps this guy is a Time Watcher who has been around for a long time and has trained himself countless times," Josh answered.

"Then why did he invade another world like this? Breaking the Universe Order is not enough. Still, attacking people from other worlds like this?"

"Fuck it, if we don't stop him. He might go on invade to next another world."

"I'll try."

During the chaos. The intruder was able to reach Josh by mid-air jump, while he was using the ring's power to send a signal to The Divine asking for help. Time around you seems to slow down. Shows him the ring on the intruder's middle finger on his right hand, It's the Time Watcher's ring.

"O-Ring..." The intruder's muttering hoarse soft words indicate the requested power from the ring.

Now intruder's ring has glowed, indicating that the guy was using the enchanted. It wasn't conjuring up another weapon, but using the true power of the ring. A green circle shaped like the eye of a storm, called a warp ring appeared behind him. Josh knew immediately that the intruder was going to teleport him somewhere to kill. That was the basic fighting method of the Ring of Time user.

"No!"

Ryan doesn't let his friends be in danger. He jumped and took the attack. He aggressively pushed Josh away. It turned out that he had been teleported by an intruder instead.

"NOOOOOO!"

Josh saw his friend teleported away to disappear along with the intruder right before his eyes. It made him collapse and he didn't know what to do next.
