The defense lawyer cleared his throat, his demeanor composed. "Your honor, even though flights were canceled, my client here went straight back home."

The judge raised an eyebrow. "Any evidence?"

The lawyer adjusted his glasses and began, "According to section 12(b) of the Revised Code of Conduct, in situations where extenuating circumstances prevent the acquisition of physical evidence, testimonial accounts may suffice."

The judge's patience wore thin. He pounded his gavel, the sound echoing through the courtroom. "Are you trying to teach me the law when I need evidence?" His voice reverberated with frustration. "Since there are no evidence to support your claim, then the accused is found guilty."

He continued, his tone stern and resolute. "This act is punishable against the law. Therefore, I sentence the accused to 30 years of imprisonment with hard labour."
