Chapter 28: Entry Denial

After a few rings, Cory answered, and the sound of cars honking could be heard in the background.

"Hey man, how's it going?" Cory asked.

"I'm good, thanks. Are you already at the hotel for the party?" Ethan asked.

"Sorry, man, I can't make it to the party. I have another package to deliver," Cory apologized.

Ethan was annoyed. "You're kidding me, right? We agreed on this, Cory; you can't just leave the package and come to the party."

"I can't do that, Ethan." He replied, "My boss will fire me if I don't deliver this package on time," Cory replied, his voice sounding stressed.

"Hey, forget about being fired; I can offer..."

He was about to offer him a job, but the call hung up before he could say anything. He sighed and walked towards his car, getting ready to drive to the party.

As he got into his car, Ethan couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. He now had a lot of money, and Cory was his best friend, so he was looking forward to hanging out with him and enjoying the party tog
