"Did Lily intentionally approach me and beg for forgiveness, putting on this act because she got a clue that I'm rich?" he questioned.

Thinking of this, he pretended not to know what she was talking about.

He chuckled in response to Lily's accusation. "Rich? I don't know where you're getting that idea from, Lily," he said. "I'm just working to support myself, like always."

Lily's anger began to show as she persisted, "Are you lying to me, Ethan? You've changed. You got a nice haircut and your clothes look high-class. How can you deny it?"

Ethan let out a laugh and explained, "I got a tip from a customer for delivering a package, which I used to afford a better haircut and this one piece of clothing. That's all there is to it."

Lily's expression turned to anger and confusion as she screamed, "What? So you are not rich?"

Ethan shook his head with a frown, still denying it. "I am the old Ethan, I am not rich. Would I still be hailing a cab if I was rich?" he asked.
