“Place your bets, everyone, and I’ll spin the wheel to see who the winner is,” the dealer said then everyone did as told.

Alexander dropped ten thousand dollars worth of betting chips on the number three spot on the table while the other gamblers picked the numbers they thought would win and placed their chips.

Because this was Roulette, the gamblers could bet on as many numbers as they wanted but Alexander chose to only bet on one spot. Whereas, the other gamblers chose at least four different numbers, increasing their odds of winning.

Unlike poker, there was no proven strategy to increase one’s chances of winning except for betting on as many spots as possible, but Alexander chose the one spot because, for the moment, he was testing the waters. His strategy would change after this round.

As for Mr. Ferguson, the man placed his ten-dollar betting chip on the double zero spot, and like Alexander, he too only bet on one spot.
