Alexander ignored the man and looked to his right. He saw an old-looking van parked on the pavement.

Obviously, only a crazy person or someone who didn’t care about the law would park the van the way it was.

Well, by looking at how abandoned the street was, the chances that the police would patrol the area went from very slim to none, so there was no reason for whoever parked the van to fear any consequences.

“That must be what they drove to get the money from Mary and bring it here. Well, I’m just guessing but the way the air around the hood is being distorted must mean that it’s still hot and only a freshly used vehicle would—“ Alexander’s brain was firing, deducting everything his eyes saw like he was a veteran detective.
