THE RULES

Tessa looked longingly at the bundle of money in her hand then she gulped.

She really wanted to keep the tip. Who wouldn’t when the amount was a whopping one thousand dollars which was half of what she makes a week working her current job?

“I’m waiting,” Alexander said.

Just then, the big hand of the counter clock hit twelve, lining up with the small hand already there and the inbuilt alarm, which informs when a whole hour had passed, went off.

Alexander looked at the counter clock when he heard the alarm and thought ‘Looks like noon just hit.’

He chuckled, thinking about how he had made it to the hotel in time and with enough to spare to get his new booking and extension completed before the deadline even reached.

‘All that’s left is—‘ Alexander thought but then was interrupted when Tessa stretched the bundle of money back to him.

“Sorry sir but I can’t keep this. I don’t want to break the hotel’s policy so please have it back” She said and Alexander was taken aback.
