Everyone focused, trying their best to increase how much of what was happening on the floors below they could hear.

Unfortunately, doing that presented a challenge because they were on the third floor and unless someone was loud to a certain decibel, nothing from the ground floor would be audible to them.

Still, they hoped to pick up the voice of at least one of the hooligans who had gone down to stop Alexander, but they couldn’t because something else was obstructing them.

That was the football game being shown on the massive television whose sound was blasting off its high-quality speakers.

“Gimme that remote!” the Kingpin told both of the skimpy-dressed girls sitting on the couch.

They hurriedly gave the remote to him and he angrily muted the television then tossed the remote back on the couch.

Without the television’s noise disturbing them, the Kingpin tried listening again to see if he could pick up any sound but all he could hear was the breaths of the people around him.
