Jackson's heart went cold. "Did you see assassin that murdered Betty?"

"Er." Slade frowned deeply. "Our men got there right when the man tried to escape, but when we tried to apprehend him, he opened fire on us, injuring two of our men!"

"Hmm." Jackson nodded, slowly taking his seat.

He had expected to get the housekeeper, and coax the truth of what happened from her.

Unfortunately, someone got there before him and murdered her in cold blood.

"The money from the sales of the Kneiss sculpture was still in her slingbag, including her passport and a flight ticket." Slade replied. "Seems she already knew the danger lurking around her."

Jackson's face hardened further.

"That murder was so cruel. Who could it be, Boss?" Slade had to ask.

"We only have conjectures at this point. There's no evidence pointing at a particular person." Jackson gritted. "Now that the men are calm, go interrogate them again, perhaps someone saw something like a chain, an inscription or even a tattoo?"
