NUCLEUS PART. 4

Morning crawls it away out the eerie night that pronounces the fear of varying individuals into the dark to feed of it preys. Oh well, Monday had returned back to Jummy's apartment after the showdown he had last night.

His mind was busy, he thought about yesterday and everything that happened. He didn't understand but he felt something was wrong but he couldn't get his hand on it. At first he wondered why Nucleus didn't fight him back.

Why didn't he fight back?

It was like Nucleus gave him the upper hand knowing there was nothing he could really do to stop him at that point.

Jummy headed out of the washroom in a grey oversized top. Her hands were busy playing with her hair as she walked up to the bed. “Seems you are awake already, wanna talk about what happened last night? ”

“No need... ”,. came Mondays immediate reply.

She ignored and sat on the edge of the bed, still playing with her hair. She stopped and made a low groan then she stood up and faced Monday. “Are we now back to hiding stuffs from each other? can you at least tell me where you ran of to last night? ”

Monday didn't give a reply, what was he even doing here? why did he come back here in the first place? couldn't he have just gone home instead after the whole incident? right... he is no good terms with his cousins but still...

“So you are not going to talk about it. Fine no problem. Today's is Saturday anyway. I have to go out , so kindly lock the door when you leave. You have a spare key don't you? or did you happen to throw that one way as well?”, no reply was returned and it pissed her of so bad. “You no what... nevermind. ”

She was about to walk out when Monday rushed her from behind. His hand wrapped around her waist. “Hey... I am sorry. ”

“Now you are Sorry. ”, she struggled to break free but he refused to allow her to go. “Come on... I have to head to work, today's my shift... I don't want to miss it. ”

Monday turned her around and they both shared a look of comfort at first but she wanted out. “Please... we can talk later, maybe after work. We could probably hangout.”

“I know you are still angry, I am just not---”

She stopped his words halfway with a soft gentle touch of her lips on his. “No... don't bother explaining anything... I am okay. ”, he voice almost whispers as She pulled away.

Monday freed her from his grasp, she smiled a little but behind her smile held a mug filled with discomfort.

She went back into the washroom while Monday tried to figure what he was going to do. On the one hand , he was hurting her whilst caught in trying to figure out what the hell nucleus was up too.

A short buzz sound awakened his phone screen. He picked it up from the bed side and checked the nortification that had come In.

His eyes widened in shock.

What was it?

Jummy came back outside and when she did, Monday was no where to be seen.

“Oookayyy... he left already. That's... ”, she shook her head. “You know what , nevermind. ”

She cleared her head, placing everything that happened last night and this morning behind her in a swift before it drove her nuts.

THE ANDREWS MANSION |

8:40am |

Debbie and the individual that arrived earlier where seated on the couch situated in the living room. There was no one around except the two of them.

The lady stood up, walking around in. black rebel jacket and a white inner top and a pair of blue jeans and fitting brown boots. She owned the peculiar pink eyeballs that made her different from the rest, well except Monday.

“I am glad I decided to come back. ..and at the right time!. ”

“Don't say that ...”,. Debbie managed to say. “You don't know what happening here. So don't jump into conclusions.”

“Oh really, Katherine goes rouge and Monday is no where to be found. Jake's been hiding Katerina medical reports for months and here we are, you almost died.”

“Rose... relax, just few broken ribs wouldn't hurt.”

Rose gasped. “Can you even hear yourself?”

Thud!

A sound inundated the perimeters of the Andrews Mansion.

Immediately, a whooshing sound swept into the living room.

“Hey what's going on?”, Monday appeared, his face wrapped in worrisome way that Indicated how worried he is. “Debbie...God, you are okay!.”

He walked up to her but Rose stopped him halfway. “So now you care?”

“What the fvck are you talking about?”

“Caught the crap, who Knows, you might have behind the fvcking attack! I mean who is the world wants you anyway?”

“Wants me?”, Monday uttered in confusion.

Debbie rolled her eyes as she heaved a sigh inwardly. “Rose said there was some writings on the wall, they Indicated they you are wanted in exchange for Jake. ”

“It was written in Taurian ...good thing I read Taurian.” ,Rose walked past him.

“And since when did you start to learn how to speak and understand Taurian?”

“Let just say a couple of months ago. Needed to learn more about where you came from?”

Monday raised a brow. “You were at AOUCE?, are you kidding me?”

“What? are you hiding something?”

Monday was taken aback and sped outside.

“Well that was unfair of you? I mean what the matter with you?”

“We both know ... Monday doesn't give a damn about us. He's a fvcking Taurian for Christ sake!.”

Monday was outside observing the carvings.

“Rose... stop.”, Debbie managed to wave her hands in denial but Rose seemed adamant

“No...you stop and listen. Taurian are very very dangerous. Their alien origin is something you might have never ever seen.” Rose said in a matter of fact manner. “This guys ...are bad news.”,

“You do realize Monday has super-hearing...”

“Where was it when Katherine nearly cooked you?”, Rose retorted.

Monday zoomed back in. “Okay...I can't really tell who wrote that since I never got the chance to spend time with my Taurian family. So we might need to head to Shadow HQ to figure things out.”

“Erm Monday... ”,. Debbie called. “Do you happen to have any idea about Katherine's medical condition?”

“No... what's going on?”

Rose heaved a sigh. “As if having a Taurian for a cousin wasn't enough. Now we have to deal with a family member who loves keeping things from us. ”

Monday became puzzled that very minute. “Who?"

“Just let head to Shadow HQ, I will tell you along the way.” Debbie replied quickly in order to avoid any more words from Rose.

Monday nodded affirmatively. “Alright, let's get going.”

9:10am |

“So Katherine just went rouge? ”, Az uttered in disbelief. “Are you guys sure nothing other than that happened? ”

“Look Taiwo... all I remember isI seeing Katherine going all neohuman on Jake”, Debbie retorted.

“And Jake forgot some of Katherine medical reports at Greenland City hospital? found out she has been having some mental issues , taking drugs of different origins.”,. Rose added to the table as she brought out the reports.

Az collected them and went over them thoroughly.

“I am guessing a lot of things as to why Katherine went rouge... more so, how the hell does she even have those abilities?”, Monday folded his hands. “We need to find them and quick, God knows what the hell is happening right now. ”

“And there is one more thing. There were strange markings on the wall that indicated she wanted... ”, her eyes slowly looking at Monday. “... Monday.”

Monday sighed. “Yeah.. she wants me in exchange for Jake. It fine by me , what matters is that we get Jake out of this then I will take of the rest. ”

Az stood there feeling devoured by discomfort. His mind was busy and feeding of the possibilities of him sweating as he stared blankly in a different direction.

“Az ... ”, Monday called, bringing him out of his reverie. “What's wrong with you? ”

Az gathered his courage as he tried to speak. He sighed , looked around, every single of one of them had their eyes on him. Worst of them was Monday's in-depth look. “There is something you guys should probably know first before anything else. ”

Monday held his gaze. “We are listening.”

Az gulped down the running waters in his mouth.

It been about 30mins straight. Everyone, is on their feet and Az is feeling very uncomfortable.

“Katherine for some reason has psychic powers and you didn't bother to tell me about it? ”, Monday nearly snapped.

“Look... I tried, but Jake, we all know how dangerous that guy is. I mean he could kill me you know. He's a fvcking Mercenary dude! One small mistake and my head comes of!. ”, Jake defended himself.

Rose sighed inwardly and nodded her head. “Well he does have a point. Jake is pretty much unpredictable.”

“Too unpredictable and he gets his ass handed to someone who might have been possess by a Taurian. It just a hunch ... since Katherine has been having psychic power problem ... I won't be surprised if some fucking Taurian is out there, trying to get a hold of me... look. I am done with all of this. Jake caused this for himself. I am going to find him though but I don't regret what happened to him. ”

Rose clicked her tongue and stood on Monday' front.

“Oh God... ”, Debbie exclaimed.

“Says the man who happens to be the first son of Taurus and is wanted by some psychic relative. ”

“And what the hell are you trying to imply? ”, Monday glared.

“Yeah that right...let see that eye go red again.”, Rose pestered him further.

“Cut it out you two!.” , Debbie intervened at the last minute. “Fighting... aren't going to doing anything so about we cool down and figure this thing out. Az!.”, she called out.

“Yess..ss..ss ma!.”, He stuttered.

“Check the possibilities of Katherine giving of psychic energy waves... try see if you can triangulate their location.”

“Well as a matter of fact, Shadow HQ can't really go beyond it technology... well to make matters worse we will need access to the AOUCE mainframe to actually find this Taurian people. Their satellite is more----”

“--- Proficient and reliable. You guys should really be working with AOUCE. You can always count on them. ”,. Rose folded her hands.

Monday ignored her. “I will go to AOUCE. You guys stay here, if anything comes up----”

“I am here to lend a land.”,. Rose intercepted.

Monday still ignored and continued. “---call me. ”

With that, the Taurian breed vanishes from their presence at super human speed.

“Well since Monday is of to find his taurian family , how about we do something.”, Debbie offered.

Az smiled. “I wish I could join you ladies but I have to attend to something else while Monday is away.”

“Which is...”,

“The attacked that happened yesterday on the bridge... Monday went to stop some nuclear powered monster but he didn't contain it.”

“I did hear something about it I thought Monday took care of it.” Rose said.

“Well he didn't... we didn't even get to talk about it and trust me. Whatever that thing was, it was really bad news, even for Monday.”

“ Some footages showed Monday getting hit by it very hard he lost balance and crashed into the cops.”, Taiwo added.

Rose raised a brow. “Well this won't be the first time Monday gets hit by his opposition so why are you guys so surprised about him getting hit?”

“Getting hit wasn't just the only thing. When Monday fought back...this thing went of like a nuke in the sky.”

“What are you trying to say?”, Debbie asked as she got confused.

“Whatever Monday got into a fight with gathered so much energy from his attacks that it was enough to actually make him time ticking bomb except In the form of a nuclear warhead ...a nuke!.”, Rose figured.

Az pointed at her. “Exactly...”,

“So aside a Taurian on the loose...we have nuclear warhead walking around the city?”, Debbie shivered.

“No..., if it was...our satellite would have detected it movements so perhaps it ain't active now, no one knows when it will be active.”, Taiwo responded. “But I hope it doesn't... because won't be around to stop it... AOUCE is like five continents away from Greenland. His traveling speed ain't competent enough to get back in time if anything happens.”

Rose chuckled. “Well... I guess that why am I here.”

Az furrowed his eyebrows. “You? what exactly can you do?”

Debbie heaved a sigh. “Let's just forget about it okay, we will be ready if anything comes up. Rose is here... we can count on her.”

Az nodded. “Alright then.”, Az took his leave , heading of to do something while Taiwo wandered out of the room.

Debbie was also just about to leave but Rose held her hand. Halting her to a stop. “We need to talk.”
