FEDERICK'S POV

"Is this everyone?" I asked, staring at Garry.

"What? Do you want more? This is everyone I could find. They are those who have a vendetta against Damain." Garry said into my ears.

"I need footballers, Garry. Not just people who have issues with Damian. We need to win this." I said, looking at the bunch of chaps right in front of me.

"You are losing focus, Freddie." Garry said with a snap of his fingers. "Do you want to win, or do you want us to hatch our plan? I think you might need to choose one."

"What if I want to win? Someone needs to shut Damian out for good. I don't see anyone volunteering." I replied with a cold and icy gaze.

"Then maybe you need to see your priorities right, Fred. We can't have two at a time. Remember we are men on a mission." Garry said reminding me what the initial goal was.

"Okay. Let's stick to the plan, but if there is a chance that we can win this thing, then I want to." I replied.

"Five?" James said, his gaze leaving the floor. His gaze was furrowed as he looked at me. "Yes, five. Fred was in danger. The other guy had him while I had to battle this guy that I was fighting with." "Which guy? Did you see his face?" James asked again. "No, I didn't. He had a black hoodie on just like the one you are having now. I initially thought it was him when you entered. I would have jumped you if I hadn't seen the badge." I replied. "So you didn't see your fighter?" I nodded. "The last fighter came at the nick of time just to help us. I think he is a friend and not an enemy." I replied, my gaze going back to the floor. "Then it is safe to assume that the blood might belong to any of you, then." James said getting a pair of gloves from his pocket. "Yes, that is right." I said, rub

FEDERICK'S POV Austin University—one of the most prestigious universities in Orleans City. Getting in was a dream for many, and I had managed to secure a spot, not because of wealth or connections like most students here, but through sheer intelligence and hard work. But even with that, I was nothing special.I was an orphan. Poor. Looked down upon.To support myself, I worked part-time jobs, barely managing to get by. It was exhausting, but I never complained. This was my life, and I had accepted it."Thank you," I said as I handed over the delivery order to the customer."No problem. Are you new here?""Yes, sir. I've only been working at Felix Restaurant for a week.""What's your name?" "Frederick." "Okay, Fred. Get used to the atmosphere here. Gym customers usually order food from your place." the man said with a big smile on his face. "Yes, sir." I smiled as the tall, fit man walked away. He seemed to be the owner of the gym—kind and friendly. It was rare for people to tr

FEDERICK POV I woke up in a hospital room, my head throbbing as the memories of what happened slowly pieced themselves together. "Are you awake, boy?" a voice asked. It was the gym owner, Marcus. "Thank God, for a moment I thought you were going to die from the heavy punches. Looks like you are more tougher than you look." I groaned, trying to sit up. "Are you the one who brought me here?" "Yes. I won’t let you die where I work." "How long have I been unconscious?" I asked trying to get up Marcus scratched his head. "About seven hours?" He didn’t sound too sure. "Your head was bleeding, but thankfully, there were no serious injuries. The doctor just left the room." "Really?" "Yeah." "Then why am I seeing this?" I said slowly shaking my head. " It is kind of weird." Marcus stared at me, confused. "What weird thing?"I pointed at the holographic message right in front of me. I blinked a few times, but the glowing, semi-transparent screen hovering in front of me didn’t disa

FEDERICK'S POV "Be your girlfriend? and why would I do that?" " Because you are going to be interested in what I have to offer you." I replied making Georgia take a quick look at me. " Fine, let's see what you have to offer." I led Georgia into the apartment I lived in. It was cozy and not well arranged. I pushed the door open and I immediately started to grab my scattered clothes that littered the room. I could see the look on her face but I said nothing. Without taking a seat, Georgia looked at me, " So what is it that you are offering. You wanted me to be your girlfriend so let's hear it." I knew what she meant, "I want you to be my girlfriend. More like a contract." "And what is in it for me?"My face lit up with joy. I knew she was interested in as long I would be paying her. " Can I pay with cash?" I asked sarcastically. Georgia sighed and rolled her eyes. "Everyone needs and likes money. As long as we don't need to get psychical then I will do it." I let out a chu

Damian's pov The school bubbled with excitement at the thought of having a football match against Frederick's teams. I know it was more than a football match. It was a duel of power and of course the undying truth between us both. I didn't cripple Georgia but Dully did. But I was going to make Fred pay for trying to weaken my authority within the university ground. I have seen the way the kids looked at me. Most were not scared anymore. I need to instill the fear back into them. I need this! Father had given me one more chance or he was going to allow Dully take over my life. Funny thing about being a twin with the same face. " What should be done?" Ethan asked staring at me. " We have what it takes to beat that dimwit. Gathered the top footballers in the school before he makes a move. I want all the best players here lined up before me." I ordered " Okay, Damain." Ethan said winking at Aiden. They were the most loyal people I have ever came across or maybe because Dul

"I don't know what you are hiding, Damain, but trust me, you don't want any of these kids knowing exactly what it is." "I am going to make you disappear, Freddie. If you think you can be a pain in the ass, then I am just going to make sure you leave here and never come back." Damian said amidst the noise. "Why do you make me?" I snapped at him.We were about to throw some fists when I heard a whistle right behind us. We both turned immediately to see our sport master, who was walking towards us. "Boys!" He shouted as he got closer. "If this is war between you two, then I love it!" Mr. Benson shouted, looking at the student who roared again with joy on their faces. "Why don't we make this a terms football competition between Freddie's team and Damian's? I am sure a lot of the students are dying to witness the competition, right?"

FEDERICK'S POV I still don't understand what the system meant, but I wasn't bothered. Once the money kept pouring in, there was nothing to bother about. I grabbed my backpack, locked the door and walked out of the room. I met Garry at the garage already waiting for me. He was surprised to see that some of my bruises were gone. " What did you do? I could have sworn you had a bit of..." Garry asked, stunned. I knew he was right. I threw my car key at him, trying to buy myself some time. " No way!" He shouted, looking at me and back at the car. "You are driving, Garry." I said with a smile on my face. Garry got behind the wheel and drove us out of the compound. As we journeyed towards the school ground. My phone chimed, and I saw it was a message from Marcus."Did we get the bastard?" I looked at the message, and I was not sure of what to type back to him. "You need to tell him, Frederick. You can't keep hiding things from him. Remember he lost one of his workers because he trie
