FEDERICK'S POV
[ CRASH! ] The loud noise was deafening. The car rammed into her, sending her body flying through the air before she landed on the cold floor Blood pooled around her, as many bystander rushed towards her. " Call 911!" one of them shouted I couldn't breathe. The system screen vanished, leaving me to witness the horror with my own eyes. People screamed. The driver didn’t stop—he sped up and disappeared. But I saw him. I saw who was behind the wheel. I sprinted toward her, my legs weak, my heart slamming. hard against my chest. "Georgia…" My voice trembled as I dropped to my knees beside her broken body. "SOMEONE CALL AN AMBULANCE!" ****************************************************************** "Paralyzed? What do you mean?" The word hit me hard than I care to admit. The doctor’s voice was calm, but it felt like he was shattering my world. "She survived the surgery, but the impact caused damage to the brain’s movement control center. She won’t be able to walk." I felt numb. "She wanted to be a model," I whispered. "She was supposed to walk the runway… How can she walk if she’s paralyzed?" The doctor sighed. "I’m sorry." Sorry? I clenched my fists. I should have saved her. The system warned me, and I failed. "F*ck the system!" I hissed, gripping my hair. "Georgia… it’s all because of me!" But then, I remembered. I saw who was driving that car. I clenched my jaw, rage boiling inside me. "Damian." I said in anger I stood up, fists shaking, vision dark with fury. ------------------------------------------------------- I don't need to be told where Damian was going to be. He was a clubber so I headed to the most expensive night club in town. I kicked open the VVIP room door of the nightclub, my heart pounding with rage. The moment I stepped in, the music seemed to dull, and all eyes turned to me. Damian, Mandy, and so-called friends stared at me, momentarily stunned before Damian leaned back lazily on the couch, completely unfazed. "Look who's here... the nouveau riche," he said, smirking. The sight of smirk on his face made my blood hot. Without thinking, I lunged forward, aiming a punch straight at him. But he didn’t even flinch, didn’t even move a damn inch from where he sat. "If you are going to come at me like that, then I advise you give it your best shot!" he said with fury right after I landed a weak punch at his face "Bastard! You're the one who hit her, right?" I shouted, my voice trembling with fury. "What?" His expression was the picture of innocence, but I wasn’t fooled. "Last night, in front of Cafe restaurant! You ran her over with your fancy car! You tried to kill her, didn’t you? Godmdamn it!" The whole room fell silent. Even Damain, for a fraction of a second, lost that insufferable calm of his. But then, just like that, he was smiling again—casual, cocky, like I had just told him a mildly interesting joke. I was beginning to think I might have made a mistake accusing him, seeing the look on his face. "You barge in, break the door, punch me in the face, and then accuse me of a crime? Honestly, this is enough to sue you," he said. "You should be the one rotting in court!" I snarled. Damian raised an eyebrow before suddenly standing up and landing a brutal punch across my face. Pain exploded in my skull as I stumbled back, landing on the couch. Before I could recover, he grabbed me by the collar and started throwing punches, one after the other, each hit harder than the last. "You think your little tantrum makes sense?" he spat, his fists relentless. "You bastard! You ruined my night! You're trash—filthy trash that should be burned to the ground until there’s nothing left!" I barely heard the laughter echoing around the room. No one tried to stop him. No one came to help me. They were all enjoying the show, laughing while I struggled under Damian's brutal assault. He finally let go, leaving me limp on the floor, coughing up the water I had in my mouth. "Ew," Mandy said, wrinkling her nose. Damian straightened his jacket, looking down at me like I was dirt beneath his shoe. "Here’s some advice, young man. Money doesn’t mean shit when you’re dealing with someone like me. Do you even realize who I am? And who you are?" He smirked. "I am the sky, and you? You’re just trash in the mud. How many millions of light-years do you think it would take for you to even come close to touching me?" He turned to his friends, gesturing dramatically. "And that poor woman—what’s her name again? Oh right, Georgia. I hope you break the news to her gently." He chuckled darkly. "Look at my friends. They’re so devastated by your tragic news, aren’t they?" I forced myself to look up, my vision hazy. None of them looked shocked. None of them cared. "Oh my God, can she really never walk again?" Madison, one of Georgia's lackeys, said mockingly. "So, are her legs useless now? You know, my grandfather was a gardener, and he always said—when a branch is dead, you cut it off. She’d still be human even without legs, right? Just like his tree was still a tree even after he chopped off the branches! Haha!" Laughter erupted in the room, loud and cruel. My stomach twisted, but I had no strength left to fight back. Damian crouched in front of me and flicked my forehead like I was some annoying insect. "Next time, come in with some manners. Try to act noble—if you even know what that means." His grin widened. "Oh wait, I forgot. Even the tiniest ant knows that you’re an orphan. And next time, I won't mind squashing you like a bug you are!" The word made me gnashing my teeth in anger. Will the system power be more than enough to take down Damian? I wasn't sure but I was not willing to let go. As the disco music played underneath, I rushed at Damian but then, He landed a straight kick to my face. I feel the air gushing at my face as I landed on the glassy table right at my back. I tried to stand but the sharp pain I felt made me dizzy, I got up to my feet but I was weak. I landed back on the ground and slowly passed out with one name on my mouth. " Georgia!"Related Chapters

I was going to make Damain pay, even if I end up dying. I rushed out of the dark room into the light and dashed towards the hospital with only one thing on my mind. How do I break the news to her? [ AT THE HOSPITAL ] " Thank god." I said slowly as I walked into Georgia's room. I walked closer to her and she was looking more beautiful than any woman I hade ever seen. I would trade anything to erase what happened last night. The system had predicted it, the accident.

FEDERICK'S POV " Get out!" Georgia shouted in anger. I could feel her pain, the mere thought of not being able to walk was not only going to end her career as a model but she was going to be the subject on every one slips once she gets back to schoolI could feel her pain knowing that I was the cause of it all but then I cat let Damian go without being arrested. He was going to pay for what he has done and I was going to make sure of it. I immediately got to my feet with rage and head out but I wasn't just going to stand and watch Georgia go through the pain alone. Damian is going to pay. I had seen him ram Georgia through with his car. Walking out of the hospital, I headed towards the nearest police station with only one minded set. To get Damian arrested. The police station was bubbling with lots of noise from the criminals and off course, the static radio on the table before one of the police. I walked toward one of the officer and greeted. They both looked at me an

FEDERICK'S POV I continued my investigation, determined to find evidence of the accident that night. I scoured the area, checking every possible location that might have had a CCTV camera facing the street. I had gone through every stret looking at the CCTV footage. I knew there had to be something that I was missing. “The police said there was no footage available that night. Impossible,” I muttered to myself as I walked, scanning the buildings. The street was long, lined with shops, each with its own security system. There was no way there wasn’t a single recording of the car that hit Georgia. I entered a shop where I had spotted a CCTV camera, hoping to check their footage. But I walked out minutes later, accompanied by one of the assistants. “I’m sorry, sir, but as you saw inside, there’s nothing more to find here. My boss is going to have me sacked if you are caught right inside the building." “But—” Before I could say more, the door shut in my face. I let ou

What do you mean?""You have footage of the car at your gym?""Yes, I have it," he said, looking puzzled. "Isn't the footage near the scene enough to make the police find the car? This place is full of big shops—they must all have CCTV cameras installed, right?" he said looking at me but how do I tell him i have gone through the cafe without anything solid enough to nail Damian.Relief flooded through me so intensely that I felt like crying. After days of running in circles, searching for evidence, I had finally found a breakthrough.Marcus looked at me with concern. "Hey, what's going on? FREDERICK'S POVThe school bubbled with the news of Georgia becoming crippled. I was stunned as I first laid my legs into the university ground. How? No one knew Georgia was in the hospital. I knew it had to be the work of Damain. Most of the students were scared of him Of what he was going to do to them if they ever crossed his path. I had the money, all I needed was to think. As I walked past the cafeteria, I could hear some of the student talking. " I heard, Fred had jinx her with his bad luck." " Jinx? Fred is cursed!" Another said as I walked past them. I had the power, I had the system but why does it look the other way round for me. I needed to find evidence. That was all it takes to nab Damian or whoever had been involved in the accident. One thing was certain. Damian was going down and I was going to make sure of it. I walked towards library, and then I saw Damian, giggling with some of the girls. It was obvious he was not only into Mandy. I took a picture

FREDERICK'S POV [ SYSTEM VOICE; WAKE UP, FRED ] The loud noise telling me to wake jolted me to reality. " Where am I?" I said looking around. " Jesus Christ!" I shouted as I got up dusting my already dirty uniform. I looked at my hands and I noticed my Rolex wristwatch had been stolen but I wasn't bothered. I grabbed my phone and I saw Marcus had called me several times. Nineteen missed calls! I called back but no reponse. The school was getting darker and I needed to leave before someone saw me. The security were always making sure no one was left behind after the school days. But I knew I was left behind on purpose. I grabbed my bagpack and rushed towards the car park to drive out of the school. I knew a place where I could take to make sure I wasn't seen but when I got to the garage, my face went pale. My car had been bashed and the window were all in shambles. On the body were inscriptions and names that is was now being made. " Frederick the jinx." I knew I

FREDERICK'S POV I was dazed to have seen everywhere in shambles. I could see Marcus fuming with anger. I almost walked out of the cab without paying the old man. " Hey, kid. You haven't paid me yet!" the man shouted at me. I rushed back to place my phone on the automated machine that immediately deducted my money. I rushed towards Marcus and he was surprised to see my face all swollen. " What happened!" He asked feeling concerned. " I had to walk up to Damain and let him know he was not going to get away with what he had done. I was roughened up and beating blue black." I said feeling the impact of the beating all over again " Did you say, Damian did this to you?" Marcus asked raising an eyebrow. " Yes, wait." I said slowly taking a pause. " Did he do this?" I said looking around the ruins. " I haven't gathered the fact but then my computers are severely damaged and also she was taking even before I got to her house. GEORGIA'S POVI haven't been myself ever since I saw who pushed Fred. I knew taking it now would mean one thing: making myself a moving target for Damian and his minions. Not that Richard would protect me. He was the one that asked me to call Fred, so he must know something about the push too or not. My heart thudded slightly each time I looked around to see the faces of each student looking at me. They had this judgemental look on them that made me want to go home and forget coming down to the school grounds today. So far, the news about the fall has been kept right inside the school. Many of the parents heard, and some said it has to be kept buried. My face was pale from the trauma, the drag and finally the push that sent Fred down from a storey building to the first floor. I wonder if he was alive. My conscience, my guilt, was eating me up. I needed to tell someone who could really save me and protect me from Damain. But who?I lifted my gaze, and then I saw the officers walki

Damian's POV "Was this why you had me tell Georgia to ask him to go up to the library?" Richard shouted at me with anger. "What if he didn't let this go? What if he decided to press charges? What are we going to do then?" "You need to calm yourself down. We didn't do anything, and this is not going to come back to bite us in the ass. Georgia was his girl; she called, asking him to meet her at the library, and Fred decided to jump due to some absurd reasons." I replied with a wide grin. "Is that your story?" Richard asked, looking at me. "Do you have a better one, Richard?" I asked immediately. I was on cloud nine. The match has ended in Fred's favour, but the fact that he was near death will only create more fear of how far I was going to go to make him stop trying to drag me down. "Just talk to your girlfriend and let her know what is at stake. She doesn't want me coming for her." I replied with a smirk. "Is that a threat, Damian?" Richard said, clenching his hands

MARCUS'S POV "Is this real?" Fred asked, staring back at me. Garry walked towards his bedside and collected it from him. "What the...? Are you sure about this?" he also asked. Both of them are looking at me. "Don't behave like kids. I am sure you both must have felt the same way. Didn't I hear you telling Garry it was Damian that pushed you from the top of the building?" I said, looking at Fred. "I know I saw him, but what if..." Fred said, looking at me."There is no if, Fred. Do you even know what those fuckers did to you?" I said with anger. "Your life is stolen, and the fact that you will never be able to walk again – haven't you thought about that? Don't you want them to pay?" I looked at Fred before my eyes darted back to Garry. "I think we need to tread softly now. I don't want anyone dying because of me anymore. I started this, and only I can end it." Fred said, looking at me."Oh, really? So you are just going to forget the fact that they tried to kill you and even hurt

FEDERICK'S POV My eyes darted from Garry back to the doctor. "Can you stop beating about the bush and tell me what is going on?" I said, grabbing the white bedsheet like I was in pain. "We managed to keep you alive, but you won't be able to move your body at all. Your bones had a lot of cracks during the fall, and we had to perform an emergency surgery to stabilise your spine and repair the damage to your internal organs," the doctor explained, his voice calm and professional. I felt a wave of despair wash over me as I listened to the doctor's words. I was going to be paralysed? Unable to move my body? The thought was unbearable. Garry's face was etched with concern as he looked at me. "Freddie, we'll get through this together, okay?" he said, trying to reassure me. "Damian will answer for this!" But I couldn't shake off the feeling of hopelessness that had settled in my chest. My body was my everything. Without it, I was nothing. The doctor continued to explain the extent of

FEDERICK'S POV The loud siren jolted me back as I tried to open my eyes. Garry was still beside me with a pale face. "He is awake!" He shouted, looking at my face. "Move back! Give the boy some goddamn space!" The dean shouted, trying to shield the students from taking pictures."Did you see who pushed you?" Garry asked, staring at me as he glanced back towards the high wall of the library. I wanted to talk, but then I saw Damian, who was also among the crowd. He has a grin on his face that made my stomach churn, and for a moment, I wished the system could grant me just one wish. I don't mind going broke for the rest of my life. All I need is just one wish to make him pay for everything. I looked at him as he shook hands with Richard. Both smiling mischievously at me. I croaked as I was about to tell Garry the words. "What?" FEDERICK'S POV I looked down from the library, and all I saw was the flat surface. One thing was certain: if I jumped, my bone was going to shatter into a million pieces, and there was no redemption for me again. Not even the system could revive me from that. I remembered the healing portion again. But could it really revive a dead man?As I moved fast to have him pushed, it was like he anticipated my move. He moved in a flash, and soon he was standing beside Georgia. "Don't touch her!" I shouted immediately as he grabbed her wheelchair handle. "Ah, I can see you care so much about her. But if I were you, I wouldn't trust any woman at the moment. Do you remember the first chapter in the Bible?" I arched my eyebrows. "What does that have to do with what is going on now? You are trying to hurt an innocent soul," I shouted with anger. For a moment, I wished Garry could just come looking for me. "I know that look," he said through the hoodie. "Garry is not here to save you, Freddie.

FEDERICK'S POV "I am sorry." Georgia said, looking at me. "Sorry? No. This is not your fault, Georgia. Just let me handle this." I said gripping her wheelchair and moving her to the back. "Who are you?" I shouted, looking at the hoodie man. I remembered the system. warning once again, and I felt my chest tightening. I knew he asked here with just one mission. To kill me. I needed to be smart. I had cloned a series of staircases to the end of the building. For some weird reason, the library was located at the top of the building. "What do you want?" I shouted again. "All I want is for you to disappear," the voice said back at me, sending chills through my entire body. "Why don't we leave the chit-chat? You have two options. You can either jump from the top of the building, or I can help you decide that." I looked at the body frame of the dude standing before me. He asked about having a lot of body similarity with Damian. I knew I was right. If Damain was really a twin, then

FEDERICK'S POV I moved away from the noise threatening to deafen my ears. My heart skipped with different thoughts on my mind. I cannot wait to hear what Georgia was going to tell me, but then something came to my mind. Can I heal her from the magical portion the system gave me?Or was it meant for just the game?I was lost in thought when I heard a footstep right from behind. I stopped abruptly and looked back only to see that I was the only one walking the stairways. I looked down and saw the field jam-packed with lots of students wishing us well and congratulating us. I was the star man of the match, but I had other places to be. I was sure Garry must be looking for me, but we can talk when I am less busy. I could feel the butterflies in my tummy. She has spoken to me after we have been separated for quite a time. I have a lot of questions to ask her. Like, who the hell was Richard, and why was she with him when she wasn't happy? I mean, Georgia was pretty, but not many guys

What the actual hell? I stared at the message again, praying I was hallucinating, but it remained there, glaring and bold. Was this some kind of twisted joke? Who wanted me dead? And when? How?My hands clenched tighter than ever before, and the sweat running down my face felt suddenly icy cold.“Fred?” Garry called, jerking me out of my internal chaos. “You good?”I quickly pocketed my phone. “Yeah,” I lied, shaking my head. “Let’s just win this thing.”******************************************************************The second half began with roaring cheers from the crowd.
