Chapter 24

When Feran stepped out of the bathroom later in the night, he met Laura awake. He seldom finds her awake by that time so seeing her lost in thoughts in the middle of the night threw him off.

"Uh, are you okay?" He asked, walking up to the bed with a concerned expression.

"Yeah. I'm good. I just woke up and I really don't feel sleepy right now," Laura said, sliding out her legs from beneath the blanket.

"You seem bothered. What's wrong?" He asked. Laura stared at him for a while and shook her head. She was actually thinking about what her mother had said earlier regarding Feran and her ( Mitchel's) wish for her to divorce him.

"Nothing is wrong?" Feran asked again, expecting she could say something.

"Hm. Yeah. I've just been thinking lately, Feran,* she said.

"Thinking about what?"

"Your family," Laura muttered. Feran's jaw tightened hearing that.

"Oh. So, what about them?" Feran asked dumbly.

"Where are they? Who are they?" Laura asked, wishing he could give answers to her questions
