Feran didn't know what to say to break the awkward silence that had burst forth. He could clearly see the surprise in Jeana's face. He allowed her to reason what he asked and though he was beginning to feel impatient, he still didn't utter a word till she finally spoke out.

"Marriage? With you?"

"It's not really going to be a real marriage. Nothing will happen between us. We'll just sign a contract. It will be stated there that the marriage will only be for nine months. After that, you are free."

"Free? Will I be caged to you or …"

"You just have to pretend to be my wife. After that, we're done. And in return, I'll do whatever you want." Feran took out the contract document and placed it on the table. "You can think about it." He arose and took out a card and placed it on the document. "I'll be expecting your reply in a few days' time. And if you want to meet me, you can meet me at the address on the card."
