CHAPTER EIGHTY-NINE

I stood there looking at her. She looked madly at me. But was the one that should be doing that. But I just walked to her and took my sit next to her. “I went to see Hope. I needed to talk to him after I talked to Joseph,” I told her.

“You could have said something about it. You have been gone for hours. It’s almost dark outside. I was worried something bad might have happened to you. And we talked about this, didn’t we?” she asked.

“We did. And I’m sorry. I just needed to talk to him very badly, and I didn’t have time to look for you at the time. Next time I will try harder,” I said and forced a smile on my face.

“Did it go that bad?” she asked.

I sighed and took her hand, “Well, kind of. Not much. He said he was sorry, and he was scared I was going to be disappointed in him. He was scared of what might have happened if he told me. He didn’t know how to tell me the truth,” I explained to her.
