Welcome the Dreadfour. 'Hope' you enjoy the chapter.
I sat at the log for some time since they left me. Thinking about what I discussed with them. Well, there was not much, but it was enough to let me know how important what they needed was to them. The Fatal. It kept them alive, according to what Roland told me.But a question that was bothering me was why Revoc took it from my parents if he was just going to kill them himself? It made no sense, and that was why I was in the forest meditating. I needed sometime alone with my thoughts. I needed to think about what I was going to do to survive this all crap. All I know for now is that I need to find the location of Revoc, and leave the rest to the dreadfour. But how I was going to find the location of the sociopath I did not know. All I was hoping for was that Roland knew something about it.He seemed to know pretty much a lot about my family. Which made me question how old he was for him to know all he knew about my family. He must have been the family butler for years and years. So, I
I stood at the corner for almost an hour. And the two men kept on talking in cords. I was still unable to get what they were saying or who they were talking about. I wasn’t even able to make out any of them. Who they were or what they were.Though some of what they said connected to me and my family. I mean, they were standing in my parents’ house, which has turned old all the sudden. How that was possible, I still don’t know. I have been trying to figure that out ever since I got here, but nothing came to mind.Kept on pinching myself but this was happening. It wasn’t a dream. I needed to be here and wetness what was happening. That gateway was meant to bring me here. But why? I do not know who the men are or what they are talking about. All I know it is connected to my family and me somehow.Could one of them be Revoc? But who was the man that was stopping him from attacking me? That he should allow me to play and think I was winning, then he was going to strike. But if they needed
I rolled to the side on instinct, and luckily, the fireball missed me. It slammed the floor with a thump and dust washed over me. Then with a wave of my hand, I swept the man from his feet and he fall flat on his ass.I scrambled to my feet at the same time as he did. He looked to be my age, maybe just two or three years order than me. His hair was short, just like mine, and he combed it perfectly. And he was clean shaven.Looking further, I realized he was the man I presumed to be Revoc from the two men. So he was just tricking me to make me think they had gone. But where was his friend? I looked at my surroundings, but he was nowhere to be seen, and I couldn’t sense his wizard's flavor. We circled each other for a while, and the all time he had the smirk on his face that sent a chill down my spine. He wore all black, the only thing deferent was his wristwatch.“What do you want in my parents’ house? And why does it look old?” I asked, with no hope of him answering those questions.H
I was trying my level best to wrap my head around what was happening to me. I mean, how possible was it that I would get kidnapped while asleep? That was as crazy as it sounded.I looked at Carl, and he was just playing with his paws. Drawing something on the rocky ground. What the hell have I stepped into? Ever since I got my family's wealth, my life has been nothing but hectic. Full of danger and secrets.Tried to get out multiple times. But it was like the person who called me here didn’t want me gone for some reason. Carl mentioned something about me been trapped here forever. Unless the person who locked him here allows me to leave. But I have been waiting for that person for a while and nothing at all. I have gotten nothing from my caller. I tried shouting for the bastard to show up, but he decided to hide. He chose to be a coward rather than face me like a man.“You know, freeing me will really set him off. He likes me been here and doesn’t want me to leave this place because h
This apparently happened to be an amazing trip I have ever taken ever since I got my family wealth. Thought was just as nice as his brother Hope. Maybe Death was also sweet. He was just a tough nut to crack.Which brought a question into my head of why my parents took the Fatal from them in the first place. They seemed harmless. All of them. While I haven’t yet met their sister Void. Who Thought kept saying I will like her and she will like me.Not in a relationship thing, but as someone I can talk to in terms of marriage and the like. That she was good with those topics and that was her job. At least it was in her descriptions. When I told him I didn’t need the talk, he told me I was broken inside and that will in turn, be my downfall. Just like Roland told me.Was that really obvious? Was I that broken because she cheated on me with my friend? I loved her and that was something I can’t lie about. But I was never going to stand for what she did to me. I had to keep my dignity in chec
“You are pacing up and down because it’s Christmas eve?” Carl asked as he got up as well.It was not only that it was Christmas eve; it was the night I’m supposed to be at the company for the selling of the shares of one guy. I needed to get those shares, because if I give the leverage to one of them, they might just try to dethrone me.There were more people that wanted my wealth than just Revoc. A lot wanted my wealth. Heck, that was the only reason Maria and her parents wanted me back into their family. So, I need to be at home as in right now.“I need to leave, Thought. We will continue our conversation later. I will figure out Revoc’s location and then you four will take it from there,” I spoke.“Alright. Just be careful. And say sorry to Roland because I took you for longer period than I asked for,” he spoke apologetically.“Wait, so I’m not sleeping right now?” this was crazier than I actually thought. And Roland was in it as well. What more secrets were they keeping from me? W
“Well, I can’t say your parents made me do it this time. It was also my choice to keep the truth from you because we all thought it bes. We all thought it was the best decision for you. We all thought we were protecting you from all this. But clearly, we weren’t,” he spoke and then looked at Carl. “And Carl, I’m sorry it took this much time for us to come and get you. You must have gone through hell,” his eyes were all watery.Silence stretched for a few seconds. But if the dreadfour took Carl when he was a kid, why did he wear an armour? What happened to him to wear that?“It’s fine Roland. You all did it to protect my master, and that was why I accepted to be in that prison. And Thought was nice to me. So were his siblings. Well, Death was a problem, but he is also good deep down. Just don’t piss him off,” he looked at me.“What did you all hide from me apart from Carl? Why did my parents steal the Fatal from the dreadfour? If they were friends, couldn’t they have just asked them fo
He walked to us majestically. Sparkles of lightning coming out of his eyes. I know Pit was a wizard like me and he knew a lot, just like I did. But something about his powers seemed different. His eyes never glow this bright. Ever.Something was up.“Pit, let’s just talk like civilized people. I don’t know what the hell you are pissed about. But I know we can talk about it. Just come down,” I spoke, raising my hands in surrender and Joseph did the same.Carl moved in front of me as Pit raised his fireball at me. “You now have cats as bodyguards. What money can do? Anyway, didn’t come here to worst both my time and yours. I just wanted to tell you that you should stay away from my Maria,” he spoke with a smirk on his face.“What—”“Joseph, I got this,” I told him and went around Carl to face him. I was upset about what he and Maria did to me. And I was yet to make them pay for that. But I just needed to get this crap I was dealing with over with before getting back to them.I wasn’t an
