The sun was nearly gone beyond the horizon when the faint crescent moon began to shine like a silvery claw in the night sky.

However, even amid the pitch-blackness that accompanied the sun's disappearance, powerful city lights fueled by substances known as "monster cores", and "electricity" continued to illuminate the world as if the notion of night did not even existed down on earth.

In such a world, beautiful lamps illuminated the well-built, grey road with white stripes in the middle, where a luxurious black sedan was moving without making any noise, and only leaving a white trail behind it as it passed.

As the black sedan made a flawless sharp turn, it entered an upscale neighbourhood, which was much more affluent than the downtown area where the Lindenberg Auction house was located.
