Sylvia's Regret

Showing my expertise and using my talent to its maximum potential, I spout as much bullshit as I could and expressed fake emotions.

I was trying to covey the message that

' i was extremely hurt because of her ' and I conveyed it beautifully.

Continuing with my act, taking out all of my storage rings, putting them in her small hands, I gently closed her palm into a fist , and spoke with a calm emotionless voice, that even made Sylvia to flinch and come back to her senses.

" Take these and keep it with you. This is almost all my wealth and everything I own, even the ownership papers of my properties are here in these rings. "

My emotionless voice changed a little and now it contains that tint of sadness, which although small, but was extremely sharp like a needle, continuously piercing through Sylvia's heart with my each word.

" Give me one day! I will bring you the Elixr, and in case if I do not return after one day, then light up some candles in front of my photo, because that would mean.... I am dead. Live your life and fulfill your dreams with this money. I will prove my friendship to you and make you realize that I am not a liar, I will save aunt Alice. "

The small tint of sadness was now like a tsunami of extremely sad emotions, contained in my voice, causing tears to come out from my eyes, but I turned around, wiped them with my sleeves and quickly left without waiting for a reply.

Hearing my words and realising what they meant, made Sylvia to come out of her shock.

" NOAH! wait "

She shouted on top of her lungs and quickly ran after me barefoot, but she couldn't catch up to me, who used his slayer powers to leave quickly.

Finding me nowhere to be seen, Sylvia's legs lost their strength and she knelt down on the floor and started crying profusely, she hit her hands on the grounds with all her might, causing them to bleed.

Venting her emotions for about 20 minutes in that state, she was finally back to her senses and a little calmed down.

Sylvia understood the gravity of the situation. The regret was eating her from inside, but she wasn't regretting about the mana oath she took, but about the words she said to me.

From the beginning untill the end, I was someone who did so much for her, I was her first friend and someone who always helped her despite the little time I knew her for.

I made her happy on the first day, warned her and her mother about the monsters, which helped them to leave the city on time, and I even saved their lifes from monsters while getting injured myself, which happened because of her mistake, but even then I didn't voice out a single complaint and not even scolded her for her mistakes.

It wasn't my fault to begin with, Sylvia knew that it was only because of me that they were even able to get out of that city and it was she herself who made the mistake and was responsible for her mother's present condition.

Sylvia was cursing herself for being such a selfish Person, to me who was so kind and helpful from the start.

She did nothing except waste our time and let the monsters catch up to us, then she got out of the car and even shouted despite me warning her beforehand, she got me injured and even her mother was now on the verge of death trying to save her.

And what she did, she blamed me, doubted my friendship and motives.

She could see it very clearly from my face that even I myself didn't had any hope of coming back alive, she knew that an Epic grade healing potion was like a blessing from gods and was a priceless item that would even make people wage a war for it.

Something of that extreme value could only be found in a place of equal danger, and although she knew that I was strong, but she also knew that I wasn't even a D+ rank, so I was literally going on a suicidal mission just to prove my friendship to her and save her mother's life.

" What do I do now? I sent my first friend to his death door for my own selfish reasons. Please come back Noah!, Please come back!... we will find another way to save mother but you please just come back, God! please save him, don't let him die. "

She wallowed in regret for her actions, as she silently whimpered to herself all alone.

Leaving the hotel with haste, it took me about 30 minutes, riding a taxi to reach at the border.

While on my way, I searched on the Slayer's official website and saw that a buster call had been made for all the nearby slayers to join in on rescuing people in Delvon and killing the monsters.

I quickly registered myself as an unofficial Slayer who had recently awakened.

After the start of Apocalypse where People were getting awakened at random, there was a trend in place where it could be clearly seen that after the first batch of awakened, the people who awakened later were 65%+ at the age of 18 and the remaining awakened randomly.

So, with the help of my 'reason' as a newly awakened and the Regressors' Track record of some solo monster hunting, I was able to get a permit to join in very quicky.

Showing my permit on the borders, my entry into Delvon was hassle free.

Getting in Delvon, and travelling through the town for a little with my superhuman speed, I quickly found a motorcycle parked nearby on the road, picking its lock which I had an expertise in, from the experience of two lives, I easily started the bike and took off for the Arch.

[ Delvon City, Arch Of Delvon ]

-----------------------------------------------

The blue sky was dotted with fluffy white clouds that drifted lazily in the gentle breeze.

The blazing midday sun shone relentlessly on the roads, making them shimmer with its light and on me, creating a shadow of mine on the rocks.

Standing under the Arch I looked staright towards the north of the glittering blue sea.

Everything had gone according to the plan till now, and all thats left was to get the sword from the ruins with all the additional treasures there, that included an Epic grade Elixr.

An Epic grade Elixr was definitely extremely valuable, but it wasn't of any use to me. My mother couldn't be cured with it and there were countless more ruins and places in my memory that could provide me an Epic grade Elixr if I ever needed one in future.

Getting a future SS rank, 9 star Archmage as a slave for just one Elixr was like getting her for free. There was no comparison between the two.

Clearing my mind of unnecessary thoughts and taking off my clothes, I jumped straight into the sea without wasting any time.

Swimming towards the 1Km mark, I took a deep breath and dived into the ocean.

As I dived deeper into the ocean, the temperature around me began to drop as well.

With a much higher thermal conductivity than air, a human would lose more heat in the water than on land. Fortunately, my magic and a superhuman body helped me fight off the cold and I felt like swimming in my backyard pool.

Coming across the same reef where I previously saw the inverted pentagram structure, I saw that this time it didn't had that rings behind it and a faint signal of mama can be felt from it.

Without wasting anytime, I urged my mana and let it flow towards the structure, that lit up with bright red light as soon as it came in contact with my mana, causing me to vanish from my spot.

The undersea ruins that I was about to explore this time was located in an separate space. So, the structure acts as a gate mechanism, that allowed teleportation directly into the ruins.

~swish!

Teleporting in with rustling leaves, the beauty of the scene made it difficult for me to ignore the sight in front of me.

The ruins appeared to be a vast underwater palace taking the shape of a pyramid. With a rotting, decrepit exterior, the structure was said to date back to about 10,000 BC by some researchers in future.

The palace was made with the same techniques the Egyptians possessed when building the pyramids. However, the Egyptians had only started building their first pyramid around the third millennium BC.

This was why many experts firmly believed that the stone structure in front of me was simply a masterpiece made by a mysterious lost civilization, that later must've left it behind for some reasons.

If these ruins were built by the people who lived here, then the Egyptians might have mastered the same building techniques from them somehow, or maybe they were the real ancestors of the Egyptians.

Walking forward, I saw some structures that looked like gates and roads. This separate space didn't had any water and somehow had its own atmosphere that allowed me to breath here, which was even better than breathing in the outside world.

After that, I moved towards the gate.
