Chapter 8

" What's the core city." Chiki asks, his face now facing the two women.

" It is the origin of our kingdom, it is located at the heart of the kingdom, were the king's palace is located. It is also were the six big families main houses is located." Akina replies.

" It is practically heaven on earth, not that i've personally witnessed it. But the stories going flying around concerning it are always so out of this world if you may." Eimi comments gingerly.

The car slowly arrives before a massive piazza filled with buildings off different shapes and sizes with a marvelous statue of a man decorated with various medals at the entrance. They slowly slide their way to it's side were the parking lot seems to be located. It is filled with cars, it took them awhile before she could find an empty packing space to settle in.

 They all get out of the car and slowly starting their their bodies a bit except shizuru whose expression is still unreadable.

" it was a really long ride." Eimi says looking seriously exhausted.

 Akina pats her on the back, as she rubs her sore neck.

" I've never drove the car for so long, it feels like i need some grease in my joints." She says jokingly.

 They make their way into the piazza. The place is filled with people from different races ranging from humans, to elfs, to dwarves, gnomes, beastmen mostly consisting of different types of cats and even tiny fairies flying around with their tiny wings emitting little sparkles of various colors. Large magic beast are moved around some tamed and used as mounts others in cages. The place is also filled with guards, all dressed in a silver like vest armor platting with the logo of a lion with a golden mane on it's chest side, with spine like adjustments at the back to aid with mobility it seems, with an arm and leg platting all with joint adjustments, with a helmet the city guards official uniform and some of them are walking around with dog like magic beasts with slender but muscular bodies, black fur with a brown overcoat on their belly and their feats with a little red gem on their foreheads.

 They have pretty weak mana signatures, chiki observes.

 She notices his gaze.

" Those are essence hounds raised and trained by the city for survey purposes." Akina points at once explains.

 A hound approaches them and starts sniffing around them, it's nose ready to pick out any irregularities. it seems it doesn't sense anything unusual so it immediately turns to take it's leave wagging it's tail.

" They look pretty weak." Chiki calls out.

 It swiftly stops on it's heels and turns back immediately facing him with shock written all over it's face.

" You shouldn't say that it's rude and not true. matter of fact they have top senses their noses are able to detect any scent a mile away and their ears could sense even the tiniest of vibrations." Akina corrects him smiling awkwardly.

 The dog stands valiantly evidently gloating to her praises feeling even more self important.

" But they are weak, good senses or not they are still very weak." He presses on adamantly

 The dog now looking visibly hurt, it slowly walks away it's tail now lame with with disappointment.

" How do you even know all this." Eimi asks.

" Well alan works with the security bureau, he says they make use of them alot and how praises them on how dang useless they're. I wonder what he'll say when he hears what his son thinks." akina replies chuckling a little

 They get their halo hand bands scanned it instantly displays their general profile with a green tick before they're are allowed inside

 They ask for directions from a guard he removes his helmet and is evidently really young he offers to them them. He also seems to be the owner of the dog chiki insulted, it keeps staring at him with melancholic eyes.

 The guard was practically giving them a free tour as he points and explains things to them, they pass a beautiful fountain with a massive lion statue even bigger than the one at the gate with water flowing with it's mouth it is located at the centre of the piazza. They immediately make it to be the venue without even realising it and it's a huge palace like building with alotta of flowers in the front and even more guards.

" Thank you for helping us." Akina thanks him.

" It's no issue ma'am, i'm just doing my job." He salutes obviously delighted. Before taking his leave.

 They get searched again before they could enter the place, this time more strict than before.

" Welcome madams, sorry if the check ups might've inconvenienced you." A butler with balding gray hair and a moustache dressed in black tuxedo welcomes them warmly.

" It's wasn't problem, afterall it's all for everyone's safety." Akina replies.

" And i'm sorry to inform you, children aren't allowed in the event area." He continues.

" What why?." Chiki exclaims.

" Chiki manners." She reprimands him.

" So what we have to go back now, we came all this way for nothing?." Eimi complains.

" That really isn't fair." Akina adds.

" No need to worry madams, a special venue has been allocated to cater for the kids." He asserts.

 She looks down and see's chiki shaking his head.

" I'm sorry-". She begins to say but gets interrupted by eimi.

" Common lets just leave them with the butler, we came so far." Eimi says as she throws a hand around her neck.

" Don't worry madam, their safety is of utmost importance." He assures her.

" It's not like we have a choice." She sighs then says.

 Another burtler comes up, he is visibly younger.

" He'll take them there." The old burtler asserts.

" This way young ones." The newcomers says as he leads them away.

 Chiki sighs in frustration, yeesh I'm gonna be left alone with the weird one sulking within. A dark shadow havoring above his head.

 They make their way into a large drawing room, it is warm and cozy. They're also other kids.
