Rashen woke up back in the room he shared with Gayle, although he was alone at that time. The pain in his eyes from yesterday was gone and he could see clearly again. He hurried out of bed to freshen up,he was in a hurry to get back to Blak Acre: to find the young girl he met last night. He was frustrated at himself that he let the girl go, and even more frustrated at the fact that Nigsky the gutter had used the opportunity to escape as well.

After freshning up he hurried to the dining hall where Macy and Gayle were currently eating their breakfast.

"Morning Rashikins" Gayle said after seeing him, "Your food's in the kitchen" he practically sang as Rashen walked past him and straight into the kitchen. He was still mad at them. Angry that they basically laughed at his idea that all the theft activities might be related. He was in such a rush that he didn't even bother to think about the fact that Gayle only kept a half empty box of crackers and a glass of milk for him as breakfast,he

He didn't want to wake Cindrus up so he waited for her to wake up instead, unfortunately for him that took almost all morning. Once she did wake up he still had to wait for her to get ready. He offered to take her home for safety reasons but she declined. "What happened to you? Where have you been?" Macy asked in urgency.Rashen explained everything that happened yesterday. "Unbelievable!" Macy exclaimed. "So instead of instead of an interrogation, you were out playing boyfriend with his daughter!?" "I wasn't playing boyfriend, what was I supposed to do?" "You could've squeezed some information out of her without giving away our operation." "And how would you have done that?" Rashen flared. "Well I wouldn't have done what you did that's for sure!" She flared back.Gayle slammed his fist on the table. "Enough! Both of you!

  • CHAPTER 50: COLD NIGHT

Despite her initial refusal and reluctance, the increasingly heavy downpour of rain changed her mind to the idea of sleeping at a motel with Rashen for the night. They were lucky enough to find one that happened to have been close enough to the restaurant. Rashen had to spend the remainder of his salary just to afford the night but he had no choice. It was a quiet walk up the creaky stairs to their room. It wasn't particularly big for the amount of money he paid but it would have to do for the night. It was a wooden floor with a single chair and a bed close to the window with slightly opened curtains. "Why do I have to share a room with you again?" Cindrus asked as she slowly sat on the dusty bed. "I don't know." Rashen replied. "Wait here, I'm going to go take a bath." "Hold on. Why do you get to go first? I want to go first?" She demanded. Rashen sighed. "Then you can go first." Cindrus came out wearing a white robe she found in the bathroom. When Rashen came out he was til

  • CHAPTER 49: REUNIONS

"To We The Believers.... Reclamation Awaits!" Rashen thought it was a peculiar sign but he didn't want to think too much of it. He opened the doors to the restaurant and walked in. "Excuse me?" The receptionist,a middle aged man with a receding hairline and a particularly large, curved nose, called to Rashen as he walked into the building. "Good evening!" Rashen greeted as he tried to straighten out his hair that had been made even messier than they usually are by the winds. "And what business do you have with us?" He asked in a snobbish tone. "Erm... I'm supposed to meet someone here, Chairman MacRossie of the MacRossie Group, you know him right?" The receptionist stared at Rashen, his face expressionless. "Please exit the building before I am forced to call security." "What? No I actually am here to meet-" "I will not warn you again. This pristine establishment does not suffer fools and pranksters, the fact that you still stand here talking to me is because I allow it so I

The trio headed into the building. "Wow! It's even larger on the inside." Rashen commented. There was an air of modernity in the building that Rashen rarely ever sees in Grittshore. Brown hair tied into a bun and a uniform that seemed a little too tight. "Good morning." She greeted. "How may I be of assistance?" She asked with a smile that looked force. "We're here to see the chairman." Macy replied. "Oh!" She said, her voice colder than before. "What are your names then, do you have a registered appointment?" She asked. "Well no, we-". "Then I'm afraid I'm going to ask you folks to leave." She said interrupting Macy, dropping her smile completely. "We just have something important to discuss with him, we won't be long." Said Macy. "If what you had to discuss was as import

When Gayle dozed off again she slapped him awake in frustration. "Dammit Macy!" He exclaimed. "Stop dozing off! We're here on serious business." She said. "I reckon it's way too early in the morning for serious business." Gayle said rubbing his cheek. "I'll have to agree with Gayle on this one." Rashen yawned. "Why do we have to be here so early in the morning?" He asked. "So we don't have to deal with the Sinn Sentries." Macy said, pinching a dozing Gayle awake. "Sinn Sentries?" Rashen asked "They're like that Grittshore Watch but exclusively for the estate." Macy answered. "What are they like?" Rashen asked. "They're bottom of the barrel individuals Rashen." Macy snarled. "Heh!

  • 46: TEST RESULTS

It had been two weeks since Macy and Nanalie met with the practitioner, two weeks since Rashen and Gayle interrogated Nigksy the Gutter. In those two weeks the trio had patrolled all of Blud Valley as well as the Outer sections of Blak Acre but have found nothing that could lead them to the original distributors of the drug, not even the suppliers could be found. Rashen and Gayle would occasionally track down and interrogate Nigsky in the hopes that he would have found new information, but Nigsky was useless, they couldn’t interrogate the other victims because they were still in critical states as well. What frustrated Rashen the most was that in the two weeks that they hadn’t found any leads or clues, four more people ended up hospitalized because of the mystery drug.
