“I’m sorry, Hunter. I’m really sorry,” master Pritt kept on apologizing to Hunter, who’s just silently standing near the aisle.

Most of the guests went home an hour ago, and Hunter wasn’t spoken since then, he felt ashamed, and broken hearted, thinking of all the things he had done for Olivia, and yet she still chose to leave him with so much pain.

“We can still fix this, I will do everything in my power to reach Olivia, don’t worry, Hunter, the wedding will still happen,”

The church’s door suddenly open, and there, Alfred—his right hand, arrived, to pick him up. Master Pritt and Mr. Johnson, looked at Alfred confusingly, “Boss,” Alfred muttered, as he saw the man who he have been serving for year.

He immediately walk towards Hunter, “Alfred, it’s nice to see you again,” Hunter’s broken voice greeted Alfred.

“Who might be this man, Hunter? You know him?” Mr. Johnson asked, still looking at Alfred, the remaining guests were also looking at the newly arrived Alfred.

Alfred stood straightly and looked into Mr. Johnson’s eyes, that made Olivia’s father taken a back. He haven’t seen anyone who can move him in just one glance.

“Alfred, this is Mr. Johnson and Master Pritt, my ex-fiance’s father and grandfather,” Hunter turn his gaze to the two old men, who is still in shock after hearing Hunter, “Mr. Johnson, Master Pritt, this is Alfred, my friend,”

“What do you mean, Hunter? We will settle this, ri—” Master Pritt, for the first time was being cut by Hunter.

“I’m sorry, but I don’t think, any of your plans will work out, Olivia decided for herself, and it neither both of you, nor me, she chose herself, and her well, happiness,” Hunter turned to Alfred, “I called him to pick me up, this will be the last time, I will associate myself to your family,”

“Hunter, I know, you’re hurt by now, but don’t make abrupt decisions, don’t let you emotions overpower your decisions,” Mr. Johnson, he genuinely liked Hunter, since he’s humble and a good learner, ”Let’s talk about it again, just calm down first,”

“This is my decision, thank you for having me on your family,” both old men didn’t have the chance to speak, “With that, we will take our leave,” Hunter bid his goodbye, and starts to exit the hall, behind him, is Alfred, who is excited for Hunter’s comeback—their notorious and savage boss.

“Got home Already?” Hunter’s father—Zafron, greeted him, when he got home. It was already dawn and Hunter didn’t expect his father to be awake, up this earlier.

“Yeah, long time no see, dad,” Hunter mumbled, but enough for Zafron to hear, “How have you been?” he started a conversation.

“Doing good, so, how was the escapade, with your—what was her name again?” Zafron’s humorous voice got into Hunter, that made him rolled his eyes.

“Olivia, you’re acting like you don’t know about it, dad,” Hunter comfortably sat on the sofa, trying to get himself together, in front of his father.

“Did you love her, son?” instead of turning his eyes to Zafron, Hunter looked down, his heart were still shattered, “I’m asking you,”

“I wouldn’t let myself drown with so much humiliation and treatment, if I didn’t love her,” Hunter solemnly answered.

“Get your revenge,” Zafron said in a firm tone, “Get back for all the damage his damages and humiliation her and her family gave you, for all the pain they inflicted on you,”

Hunter looked at him in disbelief, “How could you say that, dad? You’re actually the reason why I got almost married to her, you saved master Pritt, right?”

Zafron chuckled, “Hunter, I’m a businessman, I don’t take everything free, or without interest, you gain nothing from them, yet, they got everything from you, how is that fair?”

Hunter’s brow furrowed, “What do you mean?” Zafron open the drawer near his side, and handed Hunter an envelope.

“See it for yourself,” Zafron said, and motioned him to open the envelope, which Hunter did.

In Hunter’s horror, he saw pictures of master Pritt, with familiar faces, “W-what’s this?”

“That old man was stealing your investors, and biggest business partners, while you’re busy being crazily in love with his granddaughter, he take that time, he knew who you are, and instead of helping you out, he—” Zafron handed another picture to Hunter, “Talk with that man, William, I don’t have to know what they are talking about, I’ll give you that one,”

“How about Olivia’s father?” Hunter was trying to find other reason, not to pursue the thought that his mind keeps on pushing inside his head.

“Well, he’s totally innocent with his father and daughter’s wrong doing, but that doesn’t mean he’s fully acquitted with these crimes in front of you,”

“I can’t believe, I fall for all these lies,” Hunter’s disbelieve is visible in his voice, “I trusted them, and they still thought of doing these to me?” a single drop of tear falls from Hunter’s eye, while still beaming at the photos.

It’s a pictures of different days, and venue, where master Pritt was eating and talking with investors and business partners. Hunter gritted his teeth.

“I told you, son. People are the true evil in this world, you can’t trust anybody of them including me. That’s why I let you figure it out, yourself. I let you see how this world works, before your eyes, and now that you see it, what are your plans now?”

Hunter’s fist clench, enrage with the facts in front of his eyes, “You’re right, I have to get my revenge, to those who inflict pain on me, throughout the couple years, I’ve been out,”

“How do you plan to do it?” Zafron asked, he wanted to know, what life outside their home taught him. He is both excited and curious on how far his son went.

Zafron feels like he’s looking at himself, the posture, the aura, the eyes, he can feel how his son became a man for a span of two years, far from the child like Hunter he let go and let explored the world.

“I’ll give them the taste of their own medicine,”

The days were getting shorter, and the nights cool and still. Lorelei and Hunter had settled into a rhythm, their days filled with work on the community projects, quiet evenings together, and the deep connection that had only grown stronger since their wedding. The village was thriving under Lorelei’s leadership, and Hunter was proud of everything they had accomplished together, but there was something else stirring within her that neither of them had expected—something they didn’t fully understand yet.It began one quiet evening, a few weeks after their wedding, when Lorelei had been feeling unusually tired. She had chalked it up to the long hours spent organizing projects, coordinating with builders for the school, and overseeing the development of the medical clinic. She’d been working relentlessly, pouring every ounce of her energy into the

The morning of the wedding arrived, bathed in golden light, as if the universe itself was eager to celebrate the union of two souls destined to build a future together. The village, though small, was bustling with excitement.Every corner was adorned with vibrant flowers, and colorful ribbons hung from the trees, swaying gently in the early breeze. A long wooden arch, draped in ivy and blooms, stood proudly at the edge of the riverbank near Lorelei’s grandmother’s house, the place where so much of their love had blossomed. Today, the village would witness the beginning of a new chapter for two of its own—the woman who had long been the heart of the community and the man who had, against all odds, found his place among them. The Brotherhood had arrived earlier in the week, their presence a stark reminder of Hunter’s past, but it was a past he had long made peace with. Casper, Ezekiel, Alejandro, and Alamid were all in attendance, the familiar faces of his old comrades offering Hunter a

Lorelei, with her innate sense of purpose, immediately set her sights on transforming these challenges into opportunities for the village to thrive.Hunter supported her whole

Casper and Alamid stood in front of a high-rise building that loomed over the city, the glass windows reflecting the waning sunlight. The news came early in the morning, just as the first light of dawn began to filter through the curtains. Lorelei sat up in bed, staring at her phone as the message from the local hospital flashed on the screen. She read it twice, unwilling to believe the words that had appeared in front of her.Her grandmother, Agatha, had passed away.It felt like a punch to the gut. Agatha had been a pillar in Lorelei’s life, a steady force who had shaped her into the woman she was today. Despite her age, Agatha had always carried herself with quiet strength, leading their community with a steady hand and a sharp mind. She had been more than a grandmother to Lorelei; she had been a mentor, a confidante, and a guiding light.Hunter, who had been up for an early jog, entered the room moments later. He froze when he saw the look on Lorelei’s face, knowing something was wrong before she even spoke.“What happened?” he asked, his voice soft but filled with concern.Lorelei’s voice cracked as she read th
