I can't explain how the tick-tock of the clock, that was reminding me of every passing second, started to feel once we had been kicked out of the room.

Yes, the doctor had indeed asked us to leave the room politely, but that still wasn't enough to ease the palpitations of my heart, or the panic of my head go away– because there was nothing to make the anxiety that was at the root of it, feel any better.

On the contrary, she had actually contributed to raising the level of anticipation and fear by kicking me out. And I was damn sure that if she was going to take more than ten minutes for the check up, I would be the next one to get checked!

Because the more the time was passing with Eliana's eyes being shut, the further the probability of my eyes attaining the same state of unconsciousness, was increasing.
