"I don't have the foggiest idea how you do this constantly. The aggravation is killing me," she said.

"Suppose I'm becoming acclimated to it," I answered.

We strolled a piece further, not uttering a word else, which was fine with me. I was all the while grappling with the prospect of having broiled that man's psyche.

Very much like the thin man said, we came to the sanctuary relatively close to the distribution center. The haven wasn't substantially more than a stockroom itself. We strolled in without anybody truly seeing us. An elderly person muttered something, then said, "There's vacant beds down the side," and highlighted a wall.

Aliyah drove me by the hand, as I was all the while experiencing difficulty zeroing in on anything and she appeared to know it. Similarly as we put our packs on a bed, a lady strolled up, found us and down then motioned for us to sit, which we did. I had no issue plunking down right then.

"What are two pretty young ladies as you doing here?" she inquired.
