Chapter 49

Clara's sour face caught Franklin's attention when they met right after the Department of Health visited him with the hospital head. Franklin initially didn't want to ask, but seeing Clara silent and not stating her reason for coming made him uncomfortable.

So, he asked, "What's wrong, Clara?"

Clara looked up immediately, hesitant to tell Franklin that Steven had just met her disguised as someone else. Moreover, Clara now had accurate evidence that Steven was involved in the kidnapping of his sister and mother. Franklin might go looking for Steven even though his condition was still unstable.

"Is this about my mother or Vina?"

Clara shook her head and answered, "Your mother and Vina have undergone mental health therapy. But it's still too early for us to ask about all the tragedies that have occurred."

"Alright, I'll be patient." Franklin took a deep breath. "But you shook your head, Clara. If this isn't about them, then what's making you so quiet?"
