Chapter 26

Archer nodded calmly after Madison admitted it was Hailey. He clenched his jaw in anger.

"Thank you for telling me," he said. "I will be going now."

Archer stormed out of the office, his blood boiling with rage as it fueled him. Madison ran after him.

Madison's footsteps echoed through the corridor as she sprinted after Archer, surprised that he had walked this far.

"Archer, wait!" she called, reaching him just before he reached the elevator. Grabbing his hand, she pleaded, "Don't do anything rash."

Archer's eyes were blank but there was something so clear in them, rage.

Archer nodded, his jaw clenched. "I Won't."

Madison didn't believe him but she let him go. He left.

Archer hailed a cab to confront Hailey at her job.

As soon as Archer entered the building, Madison's words echoed in his mind. "Don't do anything rash."

He located Hailey's office and, with a deep breath, knocked on the door.

Hailey looked up, surprised to see him. "Archer? What are you doing here?"
