"She invited me over to the beach to preach about peace and I was a damn fool for letting myself be fooled for even a second."

"it's not your fault," Madison chirped in.

"Let me finish. I had no idea she had invited Jack for the same obvious reasons. I had walked away when she started proposing the idea of being together again. I came back when I had cooled off, ready to forgive her and be civil with her. She apologized to him too. He asked her if she had been sleeping with me all this while and she said yes."

"Oh,"

"Yeah, I felt like such an idiot standing there and listening to them. For weeks, she pleaded and begged me to meet with her. I gave in with just the thought that I needed to put it behind me and prepare for the worst."

"You had no choice, you thought she was carrying your child," Madison said.

Archer shook his head, "But that's not it. I knew it wasn't mine but a foolish part of me hoped it would be. Even though there was no chance of it happening."
