Jack, pale as a sheet, erupted.

"Archer, you're lying!"

Archer raised a brow at him, "Am I?"

"You're only doing this because of some stupid vendetta!" Jack said.

His accusation hung in the air, cutting through the hushed murmurs of the other members.

Archer, cool and collected, stood his ground. "Jack, it's not true. I'm just looking out for the company." He paused, meeting the gaze of each person in the room.

"Sure, a little part of me might crave the due point of flesh you owe me, but that doesn't mean I'll stoop to fabricating lies."

The room held its collective breath as Archer pulled out a flash drive, its small form glinting in the lights. Holding it up for everyone to see, he declared,

"In here, you'll find the evidence that Louvre and Jack were working side by side."

A murmur of disbelief swept through the room, ruined by Jack's indignant retort,

"You're bluffing, Archer! There's no way Louvre and I would team up for anything!"

Archer's mind raced, trying to process the information, he blinked twice to make sure he wasn't dreaming. "How did Ferguson find out?" he stammered, disbelief evident in his voice. "I've been cautious."Madison's bitter chuckle cut through the tension. "Allow me to rephrase, Ferguson didn't find out, he bought the heir himself. Brought him right into our meeting."Archer's eyes widened, the shock palpable. "Brought? But I've been discreet, covering my tracks...Wait a minute, brought?"He took a step back before he snarled, "What do you mean brought? Did he bring a total stranger to pose as the heir? How?"Madison's expression darkened. " Ferguson has ways, Archer. He's resourceful and he damn well brought a stranger to pose as the heir."Archer's eyes bulged through the sockets and the questions just kept pouring from his lips."What was the guy like?""Does he have a relation with me? Is he like a cousin?""How on earth did Ferguson plan this?""Calm down, Archer." Archer paced the

It wasn’t surprising to hear the words come out of his mouth. He knew he wanted to marry her a long time ago but now that he said it, he was so sure. The tightening in his chests disappeared and his arch nemesis became the least of his problems as he processed the best way to make Madison agree to marry him. He is like a ghost.” “It looks like your old buddy is looking for you, I don’t know why though.” Kei said. Archer shook his head, “I know why, I stole from him years ago.” “You did what?” Damien almost yelled. Archer shrugged, “it’s not much but to him it’s a sign of disrespect. I had to survive and the best way to do it was with a little help,” “What happened to you?” Kei asked, “I was under the impression that you magically blew into a rich heir overnight,” “I wish that was true,” Archer scoffed, “I did things I wasn’t proud of but I don’t regret anything. I was a child with no parents and no money, I had no problems stealing even if it meant I don’t starve to death.” “We are not judging you, Archer. I didn’t get to where I am right now without a little sin or two. I am just curious as to why you didn’t stay with him,” Damien

    Chapter 294

Nine year old Archer walked along the streets, hungry and tired. His eyes were drooping close like he might drop down on the dirty floor. For days, he had walked this alleyway. Searching for something to eat, anything at all. The only money he had was left for emergency in case he fell sick which he wasn’t far from right now. He stopped beside a dumpster and leaned his head against it, just five minutes and he would be alright. His eyes closed but not before he begged for a savior, the saying be careful what you wish for was right in that sense. A boot kicked him after an hour and his eyes flew open, there in front of him were three men with snarls on their faces. It didn’t register at first till Archer sat up quickly, bumping his head against the dumpster and wincing. The men looked at me before they burst into laughter, “look what we found, did a cat get lost?” “No, I just wanted to sleep,” Archer had said. They frowned before one reached out and slapped him, the force o

I was curious to know about the friend you sang praises for, and since I had to test him, that’s why I sent him?”Archer chuckled, “this is crazy. This is fucking crazy, I cannot believe you are testing me. What do you have to test me for? If you were tired of hearing about me from Damien , then you should have asked him to stop talking about me.”Kei shook his head, “way before that, I have always heard about you. He made himself comfortable and frowned when one sauntered up to him with a sultry smile, “Can I get you anything, sir?” Archer nodded, “a bottle of water, please.” She nodded and walked away, returning with a bottle of water and ice. She leaned a little too closely to pour it for him. Archer leaned back when the scent of her perfume wafted into his nose. He scrunched his face and waited, “Would that be all?” She asked with that same smile. “Yes,” She walked away. He took out his laptop and started working.
