“Young master!” Thomas yelled, beaming as he saw Tedmond walk out of the building.

Tedmond frowned at Thomas, who seemed teary-eyed just from seeing him unharmed.

“You came back fine!” Thomas cried out, hurrying over. “They didn’t do anything to you, did they?”

Thomas circled Tedmond, checking him up and down for any injuries.

“You’re fine. I thought they’d do something to you. I was ready to fight back,”

Thomas claimed. “What did you go in there for?”

Tedmond walked to the car and got in. Thomas followed immediately and sat in the front seat. He started the car and began driving before Tedmond finally answered the question.

“I went to purchase the company,” Tedmond said.

Thomas slammed on the brakes, nearly throwing himself forward. He broke into a cold sweat, his heart pounding.

“What?” Thomas questioned, glancing back at Tedmond, whose expression was indifferent.

“I went in there to buy the company,” Tedmond repeated.

“You just walked in and offered to buy their company?!” Thomas ex

“We are here,” Tedmond said, pulling the car into the parking lot of the high-end restaurant. “She must be waiting inside.”Bianca opened her hand wide, waiting for him to unbuckle her seat belt before speaking.“Did you book a reservation?” she asked.“I did,” he replied.“Aren’t you showing her your wealth too soon?” Bianca questioned. “Grandpa said you shouldn’t let your date know you’re wealthy at first.”Tedmond eyed her. “Trust me, Persis isn’t that type of girl. She’s got her own money.”“Hmm.” Bianca gave him a suspicious stare. “I’ll see her for myself before I believe you.”“Okay!” he replied, wondering why her grandfather would tell her such things so soon. But, on the other hand, he liked that he did because it made her stand up for herself earlier than necessary.*****Getting into the restaurant, Tedmond held Bianca by the arm as she pouted.“I can carry you if you want,” he told her.She shook her head, trying to act strong. “I can walk! Why would you carry a five-year-

The woman immediately turned around to look at the man who had just spoken. She gulped when she saw him there. If Tedmond and the others said something bad about her, she might lose her job.“Nothing is going on, sir,” the woman lied, hurrying to meet the manager. “I was just about to take them to the reserved room they booked.”The manager turned his gaze to Persis, even though he had heard the woman’s explanation. “Is anything the matter, ma’am?” he questioned.Bianca frowned. “Are you going to send that filler-lips woman away or let her serve us?” she questioned, her gaze serious. “If you want to keep her here, then we will leave this place and blacklist it so thoroughly it won’t be able to operate anymore.”The manager flinched, intimidated by a five-year-old. The woman turned pale.Tedmond was stunned by Bianca’s threat. Even Persis turned her head to look at Bianca, a shocked expression on her face. She thought Tedmond might stop Bianca from saying such things, but instead, he o

Persis stared at Tedmond for a moment, considering his words. “Yes, I’ll be okay talking to them until you arrive. It wouldn’t be that bad, would it?”Bianca glanced at Persis with a raised brow. “Yas? What a weird way of saying yes.”Persis grinned silently. She spoke like that to ensure Bianca was paying attention to her. She was right—there was no way Bianca would dislike her.“If that’s okay with you, then that’s alright,” Tedmond replied. “I’ll go to the company as planned, but I’d like it if you wore a mask with a camera. That way, I can see their faces and listen to the conversation.”Persis frowned slightly. “That’s kind of creepy. Listening to me talk to the family who didn’t treat you well? It feels wrong.”She refused the idea, not wanting Tedmond to hear the tough time she intended to give his family. It would also be embarrassing for him to hear everything she planned to say. Tedmond could already guess her reason for refusing, and it amused him. Leaving two sharp-tongued

Their eyes brightened as they saw the name on the caller ID. The insult glaring from the screen silenced them momentarily, but the tension in the room only thickened.“It’s Tedmond,” Max confirmed, his voice a mix of relief and resentment. “He finally called.”“I’m going to give him a piece of my mind after this!” Madison yelled, crossing her arms. “How dare he contact us so late? Does he want us to lose favor with his so-called baby mama? He’s playing games with the entire family!”Harold’s lip curled in disdain as he answered the call, gripping the phone tightly. His voice dripped with venom. “What do you want, you ungrateful bastard? You kept the entire family waiting like fools!”Tedmond’s calm voice came through the speaker, unaffected by Harold’s fury. “Good evening, Father. I see you’re as composed as ever.”“Don’t waste my time with pleasantries, Tedmond!” Harold barked. “Why are you calling now? Do you think your antics amuse anyone here?”“I’m calling to let you know the mee

“Good morning, Mr. President.” The people in the conference room rose to their feet, greeting Tedmond as he walked in.Dressed in a black tailored suit with black gloves and a mask on his face, Tedmond strode into the office, his eyes scanning the room. The table in the middle of the conference room was large, with chairs of different colors on either side. One corner was gray, the other black. The gray side had three people seated, several neatly arranged files in front of them, as if prepared for a presentation. The black side was empty.Tedmond’s lips curled into a ruthless smile. “Good morning,” he chirped.Lora followed behind him as he took his seat—the one designated for him. Lora sat in the chair set slightly apart from the others, three steps away from Tedmond’s.The attendees in the conference room were from GNN, which had only three representatives. The empty side of the table was reserved for the Griffins, who had yet to arrive.‘I didn’t even give the GNN a special notice

The room grew silent, the weight of Tedmond’s words pressing down on everyone. Harold quickly glanced at Maxine, who avoided his gaze, instead focusing on arranging the files. The other woman’s hands trembled slightly as she connected the cables, and Harold cleared his throat, attempting to mask the growing tension.“We’ll start now,” Harold said, his voice low but determined. Despite his attempt to project confidence, the uncertainty in his tone was unmistakable. No one needed to tell the GNN group that Tedmond had an issue with Griffin’s cooperation. It was clear that he didn’t like them one bit, and that meant a potential victory for GNN. However, they refused to show any emotions relating to that.Duncan observed Tedmond’s expression as he watched Griffin’s presentation begin. From what he knew about facial cues, he could tell that beneath Tedmond’s composed demeanor, there was a mocking smile. It was as if Tedmond was enjoying their embarrassment.‘Did he intend to make them emba

Maxine peered at Tedmond. “What?”“Are you saying that GNN were the ones who spread the information about the meeting and went ahead to frame you so that they would be picked?” Tedmond asked, his tone sharp, knowing full well she might seize the opportunity to pin the blame on GNN.Harold was stunned at the accusation. Duncan and his crew exchanged looks, equally taken aback by the unexpected question.“President…” Harold began, his voice faltering as he quickly calculated his response. If he denied GNN’s involvement, it would imply that he or his daughter was responsible. ‘Blaming GNN might be safer,’ he thought. ‘If Tedmond himself suggested it, he must already distrust them.’“I have no idea what’s going on, but they may spread the rumors to get us attacked,” Harold replied, his tone cautious. “I didn’t want to bring it up, but I had no choice.”Tedmond arched his brow, while Duncan frowned at Harold’s words.“What the heck are you talking about?!” one of Duncan’s men shouted, jump

“Oh, you guys are here already?” Persis questioned, feigning surprise as she joined Max, Lisa, and Evelyn at the table. They all stared at her. Max’s eyebrows shot up as he noticed her face, though a half mask covered most of it, leaving only the tip of her nose, mouth, and chin visible. She wore a black straight pencil skirt, a hot pink blouse, and a little hat perched on her head.Persis accessorized with the latest diamond necklace, bracelets, and earrings. A sparkling diamond ring adorned her engagement finger. She had prepared one herself since she and Tedmond hadn’t picked out rings for their fake engagement yet.She looked elegant in heels, exuding confidence. Bianca, holding her right hand, frowned as she spotted the family. Bianca was dressed similarly to her mother, but her skirt was replaced with shorts.“Hello!” Max and Evelyn greeted in unison. Before anyone could blink, Max sprang to his feet and pulled out the chair opposite them for Persis to sit.“Have a seat,” he sai

“You’re an illegitimate child,” Richard sneered, his voice dripping with disdain. “No matter what, you’d have to donate your blood anyway. It’s not like you have a choice. Don’t act like you’re doing us a favor.”Gerald added, “Yeah, Ottis is in trouble because of you. It’s time you stepped up.”“It's something that you must do,” Tina added, her grin widening since the others were taking her side. “The illegitimate child has to support the legitimate children.”Nodding her head, Evelyn liked how things were going. She even wished that Tedmond could donate his blood so that he would lose tons of blood. It reminded her of the time in the past when she had taken a certain person's blood for no valid reason. The mere thought of it brought a sinister smile on her face.“You know it is the right thing to do, right?” Evelyn said. “Ottis is in critical condition, and you have to donate the blood to him.”Harold remained silent, watching the exchange unfold. He wanted to see how Tedmond would

At the same time, Tedmond was led into the doctor’s office by a nurse. She held the door open, nodded politely, and left without a word.He narrowed his eyes as she walked away. Odd. No greeting, no explanation. Just silence. Before he could dwell on it, a voice snapped him back.“You’re here, Mr. Tedmond,” the head doctor said, glancing up from a file.Tedmond gave a small nod.“Have a seat,” the doctor said, gesturing to the chair across his desk.Tedmond sat, posture relaxed but gaze sharp. He didn’t like surprise meetings, especially not from anyone connected to the Griffins. If Thomas had known the doctor would call him, he would’ve warned him. The silence meant one thing—this was orchestrated by the Griffins.“This isn’t just a friendly chat,” Tedmond said dryly. “What do you want?”The doctor offered a faint smile. “It’s about Ottis.”Tedmond waited.“You’re listed as one of the emergency blood matches in our system, based on an old check-up. While other things were going on, Tedmond stood outside the hospital with one hand in his pocket. He considered heading back home since he had nothing to do at the hospital. However, on second thought, he changed his mind.He was certain his men had beaten up Ottis, but not so severely that it would require a blood transfusion.'Ottis must have done something else to make himself bleed that much.' Tedmond thought. He couldn’t help but wonder if Ottis had intentionally worsened his injuries to get back at him.Pulling out his phone, Tedmond dialed Thomas’s number. Since he didn’t have the bodyguards’ contacts, he couldn’t reach them directly. If he’d known he’d need to contact them again, he would’ve gotten their numbers. But now, it was too late.“Young master,” Thomas answered on the second ring.“Did you see the report from the bodyguards?” Tedmond asked, his voice low and calm.“Yes, young master. I was about to contact you—something seems off. According to the report, Ottis only s

In the hospital ward where Vivian and Adeline sat, the beeping of machines provided the only rhythm in the heavy silence. The faint scent of antiseptic lingered in the air—sharp and cold.Vivian sat hunched at the edge of her seat, her hands clenched tightly in her lap. Her gray hair, once neatly tied back, had begun to come loose, with strands falling messily around her temples. Her eyes were red—not from crying, but from sheer exhaustion.Adeline paced near the window, arms folded tightly across her chest. Outside, the sun shone brightly, and she could see people moving about—some in wheelchairs, others deep in conversation with family members. The hallway beyond the door was quiet, save for the occasional shuffle of nurses’ shoes or the distant echo of a cough.Adeline had just told Vivian about Ottis’s current condition. Hearing that her grandson was in danger made Vivian panic. Her memory might not have been the sharpest, but she still felt pity for him.For him to be beaten that

There, he saw Tina storming toward him, a scowl darkening her face. Before he could process what was happening, she grabbed him by the collar and yanked him down to her height, her hand raised threateningly.“I asked you a question! How dare you ignore me?” she snapped, swinging her hand toward his face. But before she could land the slap, Tedmond caught her wrist mid-air. He hadn’t expected the attack, but there was no way he’d let her hit him—not anymore. He wasn’t the same person who used to stand still and take it.“What the hell is this supposed to be?” Tedmond demanded, a deep frown forming on his face."You—!" Her scowl deepened. “How dare you grab my hand? Do you have a death wish or something?!”“Death wish?” he echoed with a bitter chuckle. “No. I’ve just finally learned to stop letting people treat me like trash.”Tina’s eyes widened, taken aback by the calm defiance in his voi

None of them could believe that Vivian was the same woman—they could tell she now cared about little things she never used to bother with.Adeline’s fist clenched. Ottis had told her everything that happened, and she wasn’t about to let Tedmond off the hook. But first, she needed to make sure Ottis got the blood he needed to recover. She could come back for Tedmond later.“Let’s go, Mother,” Adeline said, holding Vivian’s hand. “The doctor's office is over there. Let's get you tested.”Vivian nodded. “Alright. Let’s go.”As Adeline and Vivian headed off, Adeline turned around to give the others a subtle sign. A grin spread across her face when they nodded in response. They had understood her signal. Once she took the old lady away, Tedmond would be alone—and they could teach him a lesson.Tedmond, who had been watching, noticed Adeline’s signal. A sly grin tugged at his lips.‘I can’t wait to see wh

Hearing that question was enough to make Max boil with anger. He knew Tedmond was taking advantage of their grandmother’s favoritism, but he hadn’t expected it to go this far.Max’s lips parted, ready to retort, but before he could get a word out, Vivian cut him off.“There’s no need to argue. Like Tedmond said, he’s your little brother, and you have to take care of him,” she said. “Instead of letting him drive, you’ll drive.”That was when Max remembered this had happened before—only back then, he had been the one in the backseat while Tedmond was asked to drive.Biting his lip until it bled, Max couldn’t hide his frustration. Now the roles were reversed, and he was the one being asked to drive. As far as Max could recall, his grandmother had always treated him better than anyone else in the family. It had always felt natural for her to take his side. But now that her attention had shifted to Tedmond, it seemed like she no longer cared about him.‘I’m not going to accept this,’ Max t

This was the first time Max had yelled so much that he didn’t let anyone else speak.‘Was it because Grandma said she was going to give me the heir position?’ he wondered.“You think you’re better than me?” Max seethed. “You think you can just smile and pretend you’re the good guy? You’re not. You’re a snake. A bastard. A nobody trying to take my place.”Max took another step forward, now just inches from Tedmond’s face.“If you think I’m going to let this go… you’re dead wrong,” he said in a low, venomous tone. “You better watch your back, because I swear—I’ll make you regret ever stepping into this family.”Vivian, who was standing beside them, glared at Max, furious that he was saying things completely against her wishes.“That’s enough, Max!” Vivian scolded. “Go back to where you were standing.”Max whipped his head toward her, eyes bloodshot. “No! Silence filled the room. No one had expected the grandmother to offer the position of heir to Tedmond so casually—just a few words, and everything changed.Max’s eyes widened in disbelief, his face draining of color. He knew his grandmother suffered from amnesia, but he hadn’t imagined she’d go this far—handing over his rightful place to someone like Tedmond. Not only was she willing to give away everything he had worked for, she was also casting aside her own grandson.Lisa was just as stunned, her mouth hanging open. She had never imagined this would be how Max lost everything.“You can’t do that, Grandma!” Max suddenly shouted, rising from his seat. His face was livid. “How could you give my position to him like that?!”Even Tedmond, the man at the center of it all, looked taken aback. He blinked, his lips parting slightly. Sure, he knew Grandma Vivian liked him now—thanks to the amnesia—but he hadn’t expected this. Not in a million years.“That’s right!” Lisa added quickly, standi
