Hours passed, and soon all the tests were concluded. Tedmond stretched his arms in delight and checked his phone to see the time and contact Bianca. It was almost time for him to pick her up, and he wanted to be punctual.

The students were still murmuring about him submitting the test early, and the top student couldn't help but feel jealous because everyone was paying attention to Tedmond instead of him.

Usually, he was always the first student to submit his exams. He was Finn, the most intelligent student in the class and the class president.

“He must have submitted nonsense or an empty sheet of paper,” Finn said. “There’s no way he could have passed if he was that bad in the past.”

The others nodded in agreement.

“As expected of Finn. He knows right away that Tedmond isn’t a smart student.”

Tedmond paid no attention to them; their voices were just background noise.

Just then, a student walked into the class. She glanced at Tedmond for a moment before walking past him to get to Finn

In less than ten minutes, the news of Tedmond's cheating had spread throughout the university. Through the school forum, everyone learned about his alleged cheating in the exams. That was the talk of the school, and although they had no idea how the cheating occurred, all the influencers were ready to take their shot at broadcasting the whole incident.“I knew he cheated,” a student from Tedmond’s course said to another. “He was the first to submit the test, and I thought he knew what he was writing.”“He doesn’t look like someone who would cheat, though.”“Do they write it on their faces?”Kyle frowned on the other side of the building as he read the post after hearing others talk about it.He knew Tedmond was not a smart student, but from the game they had played earlier and his interactions with Tedmond, he believed Tedmond wouldn’t be stupid enough to cheat.Even though he didn’t like Tedmond, he was convinced that Tedmond didn’t cheat. After all, Tedmond didn’t even cheat in a si

Upon entering the office where the other professors were gathered, Tedmond noticed them casting disdainful glances his way. On the other hand, Finn couldn’t stop grinning, clearly eager to see the outcome of his actions.“Hello, professors,” Tedmond greeted with a curious expression. He could already tell that this meeting was about the test. Lisa had claimed he got perfect scores, but he didn’t understand why that would lead them to believe he had cheated.“Hello to you too,” a male professor responded, tossing a sheet at him. “Can you explain how you got a perfect score?”Catching the sheet, Tedmond glanced at it, seeing a solid 100 staring back at him. He looked up at the professor. “I studied for the test and passed,” he replied. “Isn’t that how you’re supposed to pass a test?”The professor scowled. “You studied?”Tedmond nodded. “Yes.”“How many days did you study?” Scarlett asked.“Two days,” he answered. The professors' eyes widened in shock and disbelief. They had never heard

“Shut the hell up, you cheater,” Finn snapped. “Not only did you cheat on Lisa with your baby mama, but you also cheated on your test. I guess cheating runs in your blood.”Tedmond grinned. “So, it was Lisa who put you up to this, and that's the excuse she gave you? How interesting. If you were as smart as you think you are, you'd know that if I were a cheater, it would mean I cheated on my baby mama, making Lisa the mistress.”Finn scowled. “There’s no way Lisa would ever be a mistress to someone as worthless as you. You broke her heart and pretended to love her. She did the right thing leaving you for someone better.”Leaning closer, Tedmond whispered into Finn’s ear, “She didn’t completely leave me. She chose my brother, who only married her to spite me. In three to six months, she’ll receive divorce papers, and Max will marry someone else. It’ll be a repeat of my situation.”“What are you talking about?” Finn demanded.“Mark my words,” Tedmond replied calmly. “Max will divorce Lis

“I apologize for accusing Tedmond of cheating when he didn’t. I overheard the teacher telling Finn Barker that Tedmond had gotten a perfect score, and I got jealous. I thought he must have cheated and intended to prove it to others, but I was wrong—he never cheated; he studied and worked hard for that score.I hope Tedmond can forgive me for the trouble I caused him, and I hope you all stop seeing him in a bad light. It was all my fault. I have received my punishment and have been suspended for a few months. I will think about my actions before returning to school. Thank you for reading, and I am sorry.”Just as he thought, the fake witness said nothing about Lisa and Finn being part of the plan. He had taken all the blame on himself.Tedmond was about to move to the comment section when someone's hand wrapped around his shoulder.“Why are you still looking sour when everything has been cleared up?” Kyle questioned. “The people talking bad about you have stopped, and now you’re being

Looking at the doll, was a large teddy bear with the word 'Love' written in the center of its chest. The teddy bear had sparkles in its ears and looked incredibly girly.“Of course, I can get it,” Tedmond replied, his eyes scanning the stall to see several parents competing for the same teddy bear. “But we could easily buy another one instead of competing for this one,” he added, not wanting to join the battle for a teddy bear.Bianca’s bright eyes fell, and her shoulders slumped. “But I want it.”“We can order it online. I can take a picture of it.”Pouting, she stomped her foot on the ground. “I want to see you shoot the arrow and win,” she insisted.Eyes widening, Tedmond cleared his throat, his cheeks flushing. “Alright, I’ll get you the teddy bear.”As he pulled her along to pay, her lips curled into a smile.“$5,” Tedmond said, placing it on the stall table. “I’ll play the game now.”At the same time, a man with a much bigger hand slammed his money on the stall table. “$5,” he s

The stall owner's eyes widened at the accusation, and he tried to defend himself. “I did nothing to the bow,” he denied.Tedmond showed the bow to the stall owner. “You made the strings so loose that others couldn’t shoot many targets. Do you do that all the time?”Tedmond’s words caught the attention of the other people who had been watching him shoot. They all glared at the stall owner.“So, that’s why we couldn’t hit the target,” one muttered.“He messed with the bows.”“He never intended to give out the teddy bear in the first place.”“Are you sure you’re telling the truth?” a bald man asked. “He messed with the bow?”The bald man was impressed with Tedmond’s archery skills. The way Tedmond held the bow was just like a professional, and the man wondered how Tedmond had acquired such skills and from whom he had learned.“Why would I lie about something like that?” Tedmond asked the bald man.Seeing the serious look on Tedmond’s face, the bald man turned to the stall owner, his gaze

A frown crossed Tedmond’s face when he saw the two women sitting in front of him. They each had forced smiles on their faces as they stared at him.“Hello, brother!” Maxine said, batting her eyelashes. “I didn’t get to see her eyes earlier. She does look like you with those sparkling eyes.”Bianca raised her head to look at Tedmond, and seeing the frown on his face, she knew they were people he wasn’t comfortable with. The woman next to Maxine was Evelyn, and her fake smile looked more like a grimace with the way one side of her face twitched and knotted.“She looks more like that maid,” Evelyn claimed. “The maid who seduced my husband!”“Right, isn’t it?” Maxine said with a little smile on her face.Their voices were loud enough to catch the attention of a few diners. First, they made it seem like they were family, and then they hinted that he was an illegitimate child.“I was pissed when Tedmond took after his maid mother instead of my husband,” Evelyn said, acting pitiful. “I thoug

Seeing that he didn’t want to talk about it, they went along with the flow.“Like we said earlier, we’ve been invited to participate in a tournament. It’s all thanks to the people who live-streamed the game and even made edits of it,” Liam began. “We have to practice and participate to reclaim our name.”“Reclaim your name?” Tedmond asked, a bit confused.“Yes, you heard that right. We stopped playing because we lost one of our members to another team. He was our centre. And since we had no substitute, there was no one to replace him.”“No one wanted to join either,” Noah added. “They all wanted to join a team with a high success rate, even if it meant being a substitute.”“I guess we might even compete against that traitor later on if he makes it onto the court,” Oliver said. “Why do I feel like injuring him? That jerk left our team during our last tournament and joined the opposing team, getting us disqualified.”“I’ll always have a grudge against him,” James agreed.Tedmond underst

No one knew what to say or how to start. They had been sure he wasn’t the real person, but now that the truth was out, they were both shocked and terrified of what would happen to them.Ms. Kurt's breath hitched, and she took an unconscious step back, her once-confident expression crumbling. The realization that she had insulted the head of the Washington family—twice—sent chills down her spine."I-I…" Hans stammered, his fingers trembling as he gripped the card. His mind raced for an excuse, a way to backtrack, but the proof was undeniable. He had been the one who claimed Tedmond wasn’t the real person. If only he had kept his mouth shut when everyone believed Tedmond, he wouldn’t have so much to deal with now.Persis folded her arms, tilting her head slightly as she regarded them with an unimpressed gaze. "Well?" she drawled. "Is that enough proof for you all, or do you need him to bring his birth certificate too?"At the mention of the birth certificate, both of them hurriedly shoo

She had just revealed his real identity, yet everyone refused to believe her, convincing themselves he wasn’t who she claimed.Tilting her head to the side, she nodded. “He is Julius Washington, and we are engaged to be married.”Lenny’s face turned pale, and he gripped Persis’s shoulder. He was so terrified that he had insulted a Washington that he didn’t even register the second part of her sentence about being engaged to Tedmond.“Are you sure he’s really the one?” Lenny asked. At that moment, Hans spoke up. In his mind, he couldn’t allow more people to be deceived by Persis and Tedmond.“He isn’t Julius Washington. No one knows what Julius looks like, so why would he have a mask on in the first place? He’s someone tons of people look up to. Since you first saw him as a driver, then that must be what he is.”“That’s right,” a woman murmured. “You already saw him as a driver, so he isn’t Mr. Washington.”“He’s just an imposter.”“I can’t

The words brought silence to the room, and everyone began nodding. Tedmond glared at the man who had just spoken. It was clear they wanted him to reveal his face—something he had no intention of doing.“He’s right,” one of the guests said. “We haven’t seen Mr. Washington's face, and this one is wearing a mask. How can we be sure it’s him?”“He must have come here to fool us.”“If Hans is telling the truth, then he must have also fooled Miss Damon and made her think he’s Mr. Washington,” a woman stated, her voice louder than the rest. She held a wine glass in her hand and wore a dark green dress. “He must have come to the party without an invitation, too.”“If he turns out to be an imposter, what should we do?” a man questioned.Hans grinned. Just as he had expected, the others were beginning to doubt the man in front of them. Although Tedmond had acted and spoken like a Washington, Hans knew how to spot a faker.Ms. Kurt raised her head to look at Tedmond, a frown crossing her face. S

Tedmond's eyes snapped to the man the moment the words left his lips. Fiancé? There had been marriage offers for her? Was that why she had suddenly asked him to marry her?Just by looking at the people speaking to them, he could already tell what kind of person the so-called little brother was.The first woman—Ms. Kurt. That was when Persis finally remembered who she was.She was one of the reasons Persis avoided events like this. Ms. Kurt had once tried to set her younger brother up with Persis—something she despised. If she had known she would run into Ms. Kurt at the party, she would have asked Mr. Cain to revoke her invitation altogether.“It isn’t nice to bring a lowlife to a party, dress him up, and then reject Ms. Kurt’s offer like this,” the man added. “It would be better if your partner left. We’d make sure no one spreads rumors about you bringing a nobody as your date.”They were certain she wasn’t involved with anyone. And since they didn’t recognize the man with her, they

How could she forget? They had spent hours together as kids. He had always been there, always admired her. He thought she would at least hold some memory of him, even if it was faint. But the way she had looked at him—like he was just some random guy—made his stomach churn. And that driver.Lenny’s jaw tightened as he recalled the way Persis had clung to Tedmond, how she had locked hands with him so easily as if he meant something to her. Back outside, Tedmond continued to ignore the brown-haired man. No matter how loud or insistent he was, Tedmond glanced at his wristwatch, checking the time.“Hey! As soon as the words left the man’s lips, Tedmond gave him a blank expression. He had never seen the man before and had no idea who he was. However, one question caught his attention. The man had just asked what he was doing in a house that was supposed to belong to someone else. Holding roses and mentioning Persis' name was enough for Tedmond to understand what the man wanted and what was going on.“Even if you’re a driver picking us up, why are you so damn dressed up like that?” the man demanded, pointing the bouquet of flowers at Tedmond. “Why are you overdressed? Are you trying to seduce your boss?”Hearing the man’s question, Tedmond arched a brow and glared at him. They didn’t know each other, yet the man had the audacity to make assumptions.“If you’re done delivering the flowers, you can leave,” Tedmond replied. “Or hand them over—I’ll give them to her when she gets here. It wouldn’t be right to keep you waiting when you have other jobs to do.”As soon as Tedmond spoke, the ma
