Thomas watched as Tedmond read through the files. Soon, he carried Bianca out of the room since she had fallen asleep.

An hour passed after Bianca left, and Tedmond finished reading the company reports. Many people were available to review and act on them, as he hadn’t been active for a long time.

However, since his grandfather and mostly the housekeeper handled them, he wanted to familiarize himself with the company’s affairs.

There were still more companies to check, meaning even more reports to read. He was grateful to Lora for summarizing everything for him after reading, which made it much easier.

Remembering what had happened at school, Tedmond glanced toward Thomas.

“Could you help me get a basketball coach?” he asked. “My team and I need one.”

Thomas nodded. “I have someone in mind, young master. He will be at the court tomorrow, and I will arrange a place for you to stay,” he said, raising his brows. “However, are you interested in sports?”

Tedmond furrowed his brows, thinkin

Maxine shook her head. “That won’t happen—as long as we stop him,” she said. “We just have to find his baby mama and check if she’s the one helping him. Then, we find a way to stop her.”A sneer crept onto Max’s lips. “Alright. I think it’s time to find the identity of the child. We need her name or a picture to use for the investigation.”Maxine nodded in agreement. “I can get a picture of her. I think I’ve figured out the restaurant they usually go to for lunch.”“Alright,” Max replied, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. A few minutes ago, all the members of the Griffin family were seated at the dining table for dinner—except for Harold. Max had a frown on his face as he spoke, and Lisa looked equally uncomfortable, barely surviving the discussion.“Then he got Kanis as a coach,” Max was saying. “His baby mama must be from an old-money generational family.”He had just told them everything that had transpired between him and Tedmond, including the rumors spreading about Tedmond at school.“I hate that brat!” Evelyn snapped, her fork digging into the table. Having listened to Max’s account, she felt the need to vent her hatred for Tedmond. “Why did he have to use his baby mama when he left the family?”Her gaze shifted to Lisa, a scowl crossing her face. If only Tedmond had brought the baby mama into the family instead of Lisa, she would have gladly traded Lisa for her own son, and that connection would have remained intact.Although she couldn’t say it aloud, her piercing stare sent chills down Lisa’s

Vivian’s voice boomed once again. “Tell me where Tedmond is! If anything happens to my grandson, you will regret it! Harold!” she shouted. “Come here now!”In less than a minute, Harold hurried down the stairs to face his mother. “What’s going on, Mother?”“Where is Tedmond?” Vivian asked.Running his hand through his hair, Harold sighed. “Mom…”“Where is he?”Harold glanced at Evelyn, and from the look on her face, he could tell what had happened. He turned his gaze back to his mother. “He left home.”Vivian frowned. “Tedmond would never do that. Max said he was kicked out of the house. I’m sure that’s what happened.”Harold scowled at Max. “Was he rude, Mother?”“Yes, son! He said a lot of terrible things about Tedmond!” Vivian replied.Placing a comforting hand on her shoulder, Harold sighed. “I’ll punish him later, alright, Mother? You should go upstairs and rest. I’ll help you find Tedmond.”Hearing that, Vivian was finally relieved. “Since Tedmond will be coming home soon, I can

Everyone turned to Finn, and so did Tedmond, who had no idea why he was being challenged. Challenging Tedmond to a duel meant that everyone in the class had to stop what they were doing to clear the area and even invite students from other courses. The classmates glared at Finn, disdain written all over their faces.“Get out!” One of the guys, holding out a shirt for Tedmond to sign, snapped. “Why would you say that at the wrong time?”“There’s no way we’re missing a chance to get Kanis's autograph for some stupid duel,” another added.“Give it up!” a girl said. “Don’t ruin my chances of having Kanis touch my headphones and handkerchief, leaving his scent on them.”The murmurs grew louder as the students voiced their complaints one after the other.“How dare you talk to me like that?!” Finn yelled. “I’m the backbone of this class! Without me, none of you would even be here!”Tedmond’s brows furrowed.“This isn’t high school anymore, Finn. Grow up.”“We all know Tedmond got a perfect s

The frowns on Tedmond and Kyle’s faces deepened as they watched Max.“What are you doing here?” Kyle asked, his tone dripping with irritation. “You called me a lowlife and insulted my family! What the heck are you doing here if my family isn’t as rich as yours?”Max gritted his teeth. “What are you talking about? Aren’t we friends? Why can’t I be here when Tedmond is here? Aren’t you supposed to be friends with me instead of him?!”Kyle looked away. “Our friendship ended when you called me a lowlife and insulted my family.”Max’s face twisted in confusion. “You’re joking, right?”“What makes you think I’m joking?” Kyle asked. “You insulted me and my family just because I told the truth—that you were lying.”Tedmond sighed and stepped away, leaving them to talk. He knew Kyle and Max argued and fought a lot, but they usually made up within a week. It hadn’t even been that long since their last quarrel. It wouldn’t surprise him if they patched things up, and Kyle ended up tossing him and

Anticipation hung in the air as Mrs. Karishin walked towards the front door. It opened, revealing her elegant figure. Her eyes scanned the room, taking in the balloons, a cake, loads of decorations, and her portrait displayed in the center.Though surprised to see a party, she had no clue what was happening.“What the heck is this?” she asked, attempting politeness, but her tone came out demanding.Oliver, Liam, Noah, and James flinched, regretting their decision to enter the mansion. However, Kyle and Tedmond weren’t as shaken. Kyle was beaming, while Tedmond remained expressionless.“Mom!” Kyle squealed like a little kid. “You’re here!”Mrs. Karishin’s gaze shifted to Tedmond, who held a bow and arrow.“Hello, Mrs. Karishin,” Tedmond muttered. Kyle had hastily handed him the bow and arrow when they saw her arriving on camera."Shoot the balloon at the top," he’d instructed.Mrs. Karishin glanced around at the decorations, her brow furrowing as she tried to make sense of it all.“Is

Tedmond’s lips pressed into a thin line. He knew the Griffins were plotting against him, but he hadn’t expected it to be something like this. Max smirked, the expression on his face clearly saying it was all part of their plan.Silence hung in the air before the room erupted into murmurs.Liam and the others were stunned by the sudden turn of events, rushing towards Tedmond. But one glance from him stopped them in their tracks. Tedmond didn’t want them dragged into his mess.“How could he steal a diamond necklace and switch it with a fake?”“I thought he was from a respectable family, especially since Mrs. Karishin recognized him.”“Turns out he’s just a con artist who took advantage of Kyle and swiped the necklace.”“Did he think no one would notice?”“How did he even manage to steal it? If he walked right past us, what else might he have taken?”The guests stared at Tedmond with contempt.“I didn’t do it.” Tedmond’s calm voice sliced through the murmurs. “I have no reason to steal m

Tedmond turned his head to look at Max and Maxine. Both of them glared at him with pure resentment.Walking over to Mrs. Karishin, Tedmond brushed past his half-siblings. They both stared at him like they wouldn’t hesitate to cut his throat if given the chance.“What are you talking about?” Tedmond asked. “I bought this necklace last night for Mrs. Karishin’s birthday.”Truthfully, he had asked Thomas to prepare the gift since he had no idea what a woman would like. Thomas had chosen it to suit the taste of the Karishin family.Maxine raised her hand, pointing an accusing finger at him. “You! How dare you do that to Grandmother?! She treated you better than anyone else in the house, and you dared steal from her!”“You ungrateful brat!” Max yelled, the memory of how he had been treated the day before flashing through his mind. “How dare you?! Now that you’ve stolen her necklace, she’ll hate you for good.”Tedmond raised his brows. “But I don’t have a grandmother.”Everyone at the party

Tedmond still hadn’t gotten used to Maxine’s voice, and it irritated him every time he heard her try to make a pass at him, despite making it clear he wasn’t interested. As soon as her voice filled the room, he could hear the details of her plans with her father, and a frown crossed his face. Not only did they intend to go after a man with a fiancée, but they also wanted to ensure Maxine got pregnant so she could force her way into being accepted, even if it meant becoming a mistress.Disgusted, Tedmond reached for his phone and dialed a number. The call was answered on the second ring.“Yes, President?” A female voice came through the speaker. The person he had called was Lora. He needed to inform her of something immediately instead of waiting until the next day.“Make sure no one with the Griffin name gets hired, and ban anyone with that name from entering Xinca. We can’t afford trouble in the company anymore.”“Yes, sir. I’ll inform everyone,” she responded. The call ended, and Te

Tedmond glared at Neil, who began fidgeting nervously. He hadn’t meant it that way. He didn’t intend for things to escalate like this. He had just been joking with Hino and was now in deep trouble.“I seriously didn’t mean it that way,” Neil said hurriedly. “I just wanted to joke around with Hino since he kept pestering me to leave without consulting you.”Hino flinched at the accusation. Of course, he had said nothing of the sort. Neil was trying to use him as an excuse to get out of trouble. That was what Neil always did back when they were a boss and an employee.“I’ll be going now, brother,” Bianca said, her beaming smile making it seem like she hadn’t just caused trouble. “Good night.” She kissed him on the cheek and hurried out of the room.Tedmond watched the door close before turning his sharp gaze back to Neil. “Max called, and you decided not to tell me about it? Really?”Neil shook his head rapidly. “No! I didn’t mean to! Hino was the one who asked me not to. Isn’t that rig

The front door of the Washington family mansion opened, and Tedmond stepped inside. His eyes scanned the entrance, searching for any sign of movement. It had been a long day, and he had stayed late at the office to ensure everything was settled. He had seen the news about Duncan’s release after the viral apology post. At first, he thought Duncan would expose the family with the evidence he had gathered, but instead, Duncan had only issued threats.A grin spread across Tedmond’s face. ‘I should meet with Duncan soon.’Just then, his phone buzzed. Pulling it out, he saw a message from Persis.‘Did you get home safe?’ she had written. ‘I’m out at a restaurant in Perseia. You should head out for dinner too.’A smile crept onto his face as he read the message. However, it quickly faded as he ran a hand through his hair before replying.‘I did get home safely. I might eat at home too.’As he raised his head from his phone, preparing to go upstairs, he noticed Thomas standing nearby, as if h

Harold clasped his hands together, praying silently. During those minutes of waiting, he paced back and forth. Maxine and Evelyn sat tensely on edge as they waited for the results to be announced.Lisa, on the other hand, had retired to bed. She had stayed with them until she received a phone call and left.“What is taking them so long?” Harold muttered as though someone could answer him. “And where is Max? What the hell is taking him so long?”Evelyn flinched at his outburst but quickly regained her composure. She had tried to cover for Max, avoiding any comments that might lead Harold to go looking for him. But now, she wasn’t so sure she wanted to help him anymore, given that he had left and failed to return with a solution.“I have no idea,” Evelyn replied, her voice calm but tight. “Why don’t we just ask him when he returns?”Harold stopped pacing and turned to her, his expression hardening. “If he even does return,” he said, his voice thick with frustration. “I told him this was

“Where the hell is Max?” Harold demanded, stomping his feet on the ground. He and Maxine had just returned home and heard about what had happened. He had expected Max to come up with a solution, but to his disappointment, Max was nowhere to be found. No one had any idea where he had gone.Seeing her husband so angry, Evelyn reached out to grab Harold’s arm, trying to calm him down. “Max must have gone to find a solution to our problems. He mentioned he had something on his mind and a plan.”Harold turned to look at his wife. “Are you sure he has a plan? He left with only 59 minutes to go.”Maxine glanced at her wristwatch and shook her head. “There are only 20 minutes left now. Max isn’t answering his phone, and he isn’t coming back. We can’t wait for him, or our reputation will be ruined for nothing. We have to do what they’re asking us to.”Harold glanced at Maxine, pressing his lips together as he tried to think of something. Max stared into space as soon as the call ended. He couldn’t understand what Duncan’s second brother was saying. What shocked him even more was the revelation that Duncan had another brother besides Bryan.“Did he just ask us to post an apology and retract everything we said about Duncan?” Evelyn questioned, her eyes wide with disbelief.“That’s right,” Max confirmed. “He said he’d release the evidence Bryan collected if we didn’t.”Gritting her teeth, Evelyn frowned so deeply that her face seemed to harden. She hated that all their plans had been ruined, and now they were at the mercy of Duncan and his brothers. On the other hand, Max paced back and forth, biting his thumb as he tried to think of a solution. Minutes passed, and a deep frown appeared on his face. No ideas came to him—nothing that could salvage their situation.“It seems like we have no choice but to do as they say,” he muttered.“Did you come up with something?” Evelyn asked, her tone laced with desperation.Max shook

Max frowned at Bryan as he regained his composure. “Why does him not running the company have anything to do with us?” he demanded. “Didn’t you see the news about him? You should be at the station comforting him.”Bryan glared at him as soon as the words left his lips. “Did you just say it has nothing to do with you? You’re the ones who ruined his reputation and got him arrested.”Lisa flinched, no longer having the strength to lie. She moved to the side, ready to leave if things got out of hand.“Ugh. I have no idea why someone like you is here,” Max said, running his hand through his hair in frustration. “Just leave.”“That’s right. You’ve come here to accuse us of something we never did,” Evelyn said, frowning at Bryan. “Isn’t this the same thing that happened to your brother? I understand that you’re mad and can’t think straight, but you should at least find the real culprit and not try to pin it on someone else as they did to him. Actually, it might not even be a lie, considering

"We've known each other since childhood, and she's been like this for as long as I can remember!"The blonde guy grinned from ear to ear, his excitement clear. "I never thought Persis would ever get engaged. And to the son of Washington? That's surprising."A frown crossed Tedmond’s face at the man’s loud voice.“He’s one of my assistants,” Persis said, ignoring the blonde guy and addressing Tedmond. “More like an important aide.”“Okay,” Tedmond replied.Since the blonde guy was a friend of Persis, Tedmond didn’t feel the need to worry, though he was still curious about the man’s role.At that moment, Lora stepped into the office. But it wasn’t completely anonymous—there were traces leading back to the Griffin family.”Duncan clenched his fists, his jaw tightening. “I knew it. Just like Mr. Washington said. Those Griffins can’t leave well enough alone.”At that moment, his elder brother, Bryan, walked into the office. Dressed in a tailored suit and radiating authority, Bryan studied Duncan with a raised brow.“You look like you’ve been through a war,” Bryan said, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. “Is running GNN really that stressful? I thought you’d enjoy having the power.”Bryan wore a wide grin. The company had initially been his, but he had handed it over to Duncan. It was supposed to be an entertainment company, but Dunc
