“Hold on!” Tedmond yelled. “Why are you all acting like this?”

Ignoring his question, Melody glanced at him. “I can’t believe I lost to Perseia. Why didn’t you tell me you have a wife?!” she shouted.

Tedmond’s brows rose. “A wife? I’m not married.”

“Not married?” Melody glared at him. “Don’t tell me you only see her as your baby mama. You can’t just see someone like her that way! She’s the perfect wife material anyone would want!”

“You even have a child with her! Why haven’t you used that as an excuse to marry her?!” Kevin bellowed. “You should’ve married her a long time ago! Now, another man might come into her life!”

Kyle nodded in agreement. “That’s right! I’m not sure how you’re okay not taking advantage of the situation.”

Mrs. Karishin still couldn’t believe it. “If you have a child with Perseia, why haven’t you married her yet? I’m sure you both love each other if you have a child.”

Tedmond stared at them blankly. What they were saying made no sense to him. He couldn’t understan

Perseia groaned, flicking herself on the forehead as she stared at the pile of files on her desk. She glanced at her wristwatch, narrowing her eyes.In an instant, all the files in her hands were thrown carelessly into the air, landing haphazardly on the floor."When am I going to be done with these files?" she muttered, throwing her hands up and leaning back in her chair. "I’ve been working non-stop and haven’t gone home yet. It's been two days already! When will I be done?!"Even though no one was in the room, she vented her frustration. The office was soundproof so that no one could hear her anyway. She sat like that for a few minutes, staring at the ceiling. Although she might be the perfect woman for the Damon family, she still found the workload exhausting and longed for a vacation. However, there was no time for that, given the circumstances. Her business always came first. She could take a break once she found someone capable of handling everything."Ms. Damon!" a male voice y

Tedmond wrapped his arms around himself, still feeling uneasy about what had happened. On the other hand, Kevin had removed his phone from the glass of water and was now using Melody’s hair dryer to blow-dry it.He sighed in frustration. Now that the article had been posted, Tedmond knew it wouldn’t be long before Perseia found it and came for them. He glared at Kevin, who whistled nonchalantly, acting like none of this was his problem. After all, the one who would get into trouble was Tedmond. To Kevin, who had written the blog, it was Tedmond who had claimed she was his baby mama.“How could you let it fall into the glass of water?” Mrs. Karishin questioned. “Didn’t I tell you to get a waterproof phone?!”Kevin shook his head, his brows rising in confusion. “Why bring that up now? I’m not interested in getting a waterproof phone. I like this brand and will keep using it, even if I have to change phones countless times.”Melody and Kyle scowled at Kevin at the same time, their expres

“Can’t you hear me?” Perseia demanded, her voice impatient.Tedmond sighed. He had left the house to avoid being seen and recognized, yet she had found him first without even showing up at the house. He knew he couldn’t avoid them anymore, especially now that they’d seen him, but he was determined not to let them get to the Karishin family. Still, he didn’t turn around to look at her.“What would happen if it were me?” he questioned. “Aren’t you here to get Kevin Karishin, who made the blog?”Perseia’s brow twitched, her expression hardening with anger. Ronald and Harry had deliberately stayed out of the conversation, letting her handle it herself. They knew better than to interfere; an angry Perseia was something no one wanted to face.“Hey, are you questioning me?” Perseia demanded, scowling. “Do I look like I’m joking?”Tedmond could feel the chill radiating from her behind him. He was doomed; why had he mentioned her name out of everyone he could’ve chosen? If he’d named the daugh

Upon hearing her words, Tedmond’s face twitched in irritation at the tone she used to talk to him now that he was in the helicopter. The frown on her face was gone, replaced with a playful smirk. She had recognized him, even after pretending she hadn’t when they were outside the helicopter. Did that mean she played along with his lies to help him, too? But why? Was she going to ask a favor of him or something? If that was the case, he could help, as long as it was something within his power.“Tedmond!” Kevin yelled, loud enough for him to hear. “Are you going to leave me like that?! I got so many clicks from that article, and it could earn much more. Are you going to make me delete it and lose the money?!”Closing his ears, Tedmond’s eyes darted back to Perseia. “We should leave. Now that you know my identity, I don’t intend to reveal it to anyone else.”Perseia grinned. “Alright, let’s leave right away.”Ronald and Harry were still outside with Kevin, who kept insisting on seeing Ted

Her question sounded like a challenge. It was as if she dared him to acknowledge her authority over him—not because of their family ties but because she was older than him."Why would I spy on your family?" she added, not waiting for him to respond. "Do you have any proof that I did that?"Tedmond scrutinized her. She was nothing like the woman described in the file he had read about her. It claimed she was reserved and rarely spoke much, yet here she was, talking a lot."I don’t need proof," Tedmond declared. "If I say it, it’s true. If you hadn’t paid attention to the Washington family, you wouldn’t know who I am."She frowned. She had hoped to steer him away from her surveillance of the Washington family, but he had seen right through her. She had been monitoring them, searching for a male heir her age but had been disappointed when she only found a 19-year-old heir."Fine," she said, tired of pretending. "I do have spies around the Washington mansion. One of them is a pen I left i

Perseia stared at him. She had told him not to delete the posts, but he went ahead and did it. She felt like punching him in the face but knew she couldn’t.“Since it’s all settled,” Tedmond said, “drop me off. I can't go along with you all anymore.”Perseia frowned at him. “Our compensation hasn't been met yet. If you want to leave, you’ll have to open the door and jump right out because I have no intention of dropping you off.”“What?” Tedmond asked. “Are you intending to kidnap me?”She shook her head. “Far from it. Since you need someone to act as your baby mama, I have someone who can. She’s only a year younger than you.”Tedmond considered it. Was she making him an offer? And who was she talking about? But since she had taken the initiative to find a person who could pretend to be his baby mama, he had no choice but to accept it.“You shouldn’t refuse,” Perseia added. “It’s compensation for ruining my reputation, even though it will be cleared up later. The person I’m introducin

Tedmond stared at the guard who had just commanded him to leave. The guard glared at him, brow raised in contempt, eyes watching him like he was a pest.“Arrgh,” Tedmond grunted. “I can’t believe I’m being called a beggar by guards like you…”“The hell?” a guard yelled. “Who do you think you are?! Do you think walking in here and talking big will help you? My month's salary could buy you.”“Hurry up and leave.”“If you don’t leave in a minute, we’ll throw you out.”Not wanting to waste any more time on them, Tedmond's face turned serious. He still had classes to attend and didn’t want to miss any since he needed the attendance for his grade. But he could tell he might not make it to his last class.“Get out of the way,” he said. “I’m here to meet Persis. I don’t think that’s so hard to understand since I’m from the Washington family.”The guards' eyes widened in surprise, and soon, they burst out laughing. Their laughter echoed, gripping their bellies as they doubled over.Tedmond’s b

Persis’s brows furrowed in confusion as she and Tedmond stared at each other. His jaw dropped; he hadn’t expected to see her there. The person who had stood up for him in class was a Damon. That was the last thing he expected. Was she also keeping her identity a secret? From how she behaved in class, he never would have guessed she was a Damon. He wondered if she knew he was and had stood up for him because of that. He shook his head—that couldn’t be the case. He hadn’t even known she was a Damon, even though he’d reviewed her sister’s files. He peered at her, and seeing the same surprise on her face made him feel a bit relieved. She had no idea he was part of the Washington family either.“What are you doing here?” Persis asked, confusion laced in her voice. “And did you just say you’re a Washington?”Tedmond nodded. “That’s right. I’m the new head of the Washington family, and I’ve come to see you after making a deal with your sister.”Hearing her sister mention it, Persis flinched.

It’s time you stepped up.”“It's something that you must do,” Tina added, her grin widening since the others were taking her side. “The illegitimate child has to support the legitimate children.”Nodding her head, Evelyn liked how things were going. She even wished that Tedmond could donate his blood so that he would lose tons of blood. It reminded her of the time in the past when she had taken a certain person's blood for no valid reason. The mere thought of it brought a sinister smile on her face.“You know it is the right thing to do, right?” Evelyn said. “Ottis is in critical condition, and you have to donate the blood to him.”Harold remained silent, watching the exchange unfold. He wanted to see how Tedmond would

At the same time, Tedmond was led into the doctor’s office by a nurse. She held the door open, nodded politely, and left without a word.He narrowed his eyes as she walked away. Odd. No greeting, no explanation. Just silence. Before he could dwell on it, a voice snapped him back.“You’re here, Mr. Tedmond,” the head doctor said, glancing up from a file.Tedmond gave a small nod.“Have a seat,” the doctor said, gesturing to the chair across his desk.Tedmond sat, posture relaxed but gaze sharp. He didn’t like surprise meetings, especially not from anyone connected to the Griffins. If Thomas had known the doctor would call him, he would’ve warned him. The silence meant one thing—this was orchestrated by the Griffins.“This isn’t just a friendly chat,” Tedmond said dryly. “What do you want?”The doctor offered a faint smile. “It’s about Ottis.”Tedmond waited.“You’re listed as one of the emergency blood matches in our system, based on an old check-up. While other things were going on, Tedmond stood outside the hospital with one hand in his pocket. He considered heading back home since he had nothing to do at the hospital. However, on second thought, he changed his mind.He was certain his men had beaten up Ottis, but not so severely that it would require a blood transfusion.'Ottis must have done something else to make himself bleed that much.' Tedmond thought. He couldn’t help but wonder if Ottis had intentionally worsened his injuries to get back at him.Pulling out his phone, Tedmond dialed Thomas’s number. Since he didn’t have the bodyguards’ contacts, he couldn’t reach them directly. If he’d known he’d need to contact them again, he would’ve gotten their numbers. But now, it was too late.“Young master,” Thomas answered on the second ring.“Did you see the report from the bodyguards?” Tedmond asked, his voice low and calm.“Yes, young master. I was about to contact you—something seems off. According to the report, Ottis only s

In the hospital ward where Vivian and Adeline sat, the beeping of machines provided the only rhythm in the heavy silence. The faint scent of antiseptic lingered in the air—sharp and cold.Vivian sat hunched at the edge of her seat, her hands clenched tightly in her lap. Her gray hair, once neatly tied back, had begun to come loose, with strands falling messily around her temples. Her eyes were red—not from crying, but from sheer exhaustion.Adeline paced near the window, arms folded tightly across her chest. Outside, the sun shone brightly, and she could see people moving about—some in wheelchairs, others deep in conversation with family members. The hallway beyond the door was quiet, save for the occasional shuffle of nurses’ shoes or the distant echo of a cough.Adeline had just told Vivian about Ottis’s current condition. Hearing that her grandson was in danger made Vivian panic. Her memory might not have been the sharpest, but she still felt pity for him.For him to be beaten that

The sound of approaching footsteps caught his attention, and he turned his head toward the noise. There, he saw Tina storming toward him, a scowl darkening her face. Before he could process what was happening, she grabbed him by the collar and yanked him down to her height, her hand raised threateningly.“I asked you a question! How dare you ignore me?” she snapped, swinging her hand toward his face. But before she could land the slap, Tedmond caught her wrist mid-air. He hadn’t expected the attack, but there was no way he’d let her hit him—not anymore. He wasn’t the same person who used to stand still and take it.“What the hell is this supposed to be?” Tedmond demanded, a deep frown forming on his face."You—!" Her scowl deepened. “How dare you grab my hand? Do you have a death wish or something?!”“Death wish?” he echoed with a bitter chuckle. “No. I’ve just finally learned to stop letting people treat me like trash.”Tina’s eyes widened, taken aback by the calm defiance in his voi

Hearing that question was enough to make Max boil with anger. He knew Tedmond was taking advantage of their grandmother’s favoritism, but he hadn’t expected it to go this far.Max’s lips parted, ready to retort, but before he could get a word out, Vivian cut him off.“There’s no need to argue. Like Tedmond said, he’s your little brother, and you have to take care of him,” she said. “Instead of letting him drive, you’ll drive.”That was when Max remembered this had happened before—only back then, he had been the one in the backseat while Tedmond was asked to drive.Biting his lip until it bled, Max couldn’t hide his frustration. Now the roles were reversed, and he was the one being asked to drive. As far as Max could recall, his grandmother had always treated him better than anyone else in the family.
