Like A Labyrinth

“Papa never told me that Papa was sick while in prison. The last time I saw Papa, he still looked fine. But last night, her condition dropped, and…” Jesselyn felt unable to continue her words anymore. Daniel rubbed the back of Jesselyn's hand, trying to reassure her.

Jesselyn finally looked at Daniel with moist eyes. The sky was still drizzling, and the two of them were sitting on the concrete by the road in the shade under the umbrella that Daniel had brought. "Why are you here, Daniel?" Jesselyn asked finally.

Daniel looked down. “I was worried about you,” Daniel replied.

It was Jesselyn's turn to look down. Again the man confused him. The feeling was like being pushed and pulled, and somehow Jesselyn couldn't do anything but follow the wind that brought Daniel.

“I thought my life was over… it turns out I still have one more life. You, Daniel. You are my life,” said Jesselyn.
