Newton nodded and slung a strap of his backpack over his shoulder. He turned to look at the entire class and then walked out of the classroom.

He was unhappy to see his friend treated the way he was in class.

Then he remembered Jeremiah's threat to Robert. Jeremiah Lee was out of class for a while, and who knows what he might have done?

Fearing for his friend Robert, he immediately rushed to meet him.

Newton hurried to the street and looked around for his friend, but couldn't find him. He crossed the street to the other side where Robert usually took a taxi home. He couldn't find his friend either.
