From Nothing to Powerful Heir

Chapter 4

Nolan had just finished paying. He immediately went to his father's room and met the doctor, who was already there.

"Mr. Nolan, your father will be having surgery today." A doctor spoke to Nolan. 

Nolan looked at his father, who was still unconscious. Meanwhile, several nurses were helping to prepare everything. 

Nolan nodded his head. "Do your best for my father, doctor."

"Of course." After saying that, the doctor asked some nurses to quickly move Nolan's father to the operating room. 

Everyone became busier while Nolan let out his breath. He really felt relieved at that moment. 

"Dad, you will get better soon. Everything will be fine." Nolan looked at his father through the small glass door. 

Nolan remembered about Jessy's help earlier. Even he remembered Jessy's offer earlier. "I won't let you down, lady." Nolan looked very earnest. Of course, he would help the person who helped him. 

The next day, Nolan got ready. He put on the best shirt he had. He wore a black shirt and combed his hair neatly. Recalling the name of the hotel Jessy had mentioned earlier, Nolan knew it was a luxury hotel. 

Before he left his room, Nolan stood in front of the mirror again, making sure he was utterly presentable. "This is very good, I think."

He looked at the clock and saw that it was already 8 am. Nolan was sure that Jessy was waiting for him. 

After a while, he just got out of the taxi. This was her first time at the hotel. 

Nolan stood in front of the building, his gaze fixed on it. He was filled with doubts about going inside, as he knew that only certain people could enter. 

But given Jessy's presence in the hotel, Nolan convinced himself, and in the end, he actually entered it. 

Nolan stepped into the hotel with more confusion. His eyes scanned every corner of the large room. 

"Where is this meeting going to take place?"

Nolan pulled out his cell phone. He was just about to call Jessy, but his phone rang first. And knowing it was Jessy calling, Nolan answered it immediately. "Miss Jessy, where are you right now? I'm already at the hotel."

"Hurry up and come here, I'm in Esther Hall," Jessy explained. 

"Alright, I'll be right there." Nolan ended the call. 

He looked around again until Nolan decided to ask the receptionist where the room was. And after learning that the hall was on the 19th floor, Nolan immediately walked there. 

In the room, Jessy was currently confronted by two men who were looking at Jessy very sharply. "Tell me where your man is?"  The man in the blue suit, named Marvin, urged Jessy to give an answer. 

"You said that you already have a lover, so you don't want to marry me. I think you just want to lie to us." Marvin continued to urge Jessy. Considering that since earlier, Jessy was alone. 

This wasn't the first time Jessy had dodged a marriage offer with him. And this time, Marvin would not be easily fooled again. He knew that she was just bragging. 

Meanwhile, Jessy looks very confident this time. Different from before, who always gave excuses. "Yes, I do have a lover, and look, he'll be here soon."

Jessy looked around, searching for Nolan, who didn't come immediately. The woman was even close to losing her temper. She didn't like being in a situation where Marvin would always press her. 

Marvin also looked around, but realizing that no one was coming, he was sure that this time Jessy was just bragging again. "Never mind, there's no one here. Better yet, you accept this offer, marry me."

Jessy shook her head quickly. But at this time, Marvin straightened his suit and showed his aura to steal Jessy's attention. "Look, what do I lack?"

"Everyone knows that I come from a respectable and very wealthy family. Your life will be very secure." Marvin was making advances on Jessy. 

Jessy was interested in something other than the wealth that Marvin was always showing off. She wasn't interested in Marvin at all.

Although Jessy knew clearly that the man had great wealth, she also knew that Marvin was a man who was very crazy about women. And, of course, a man like Marvin was not her criteria. In fact, Jessy was very sure that Marvin was just playing with her. In the end, he will go back to seducing other women he meets.

It wasn't long before Jessy saw Nolan. She immediately raised her hand and waved to Nolan. 

Nolan saw Jessy's waving hand. For a few seconds, he hardly blinked his eyes. The clinging black dress formed a beautiful posture, giving an overwhelming impression of the woman he had just met yesterday. Even this time, Jessy used a small bandana that gave her a graceful appearance. He needed to admit that Jessy really looked terrific today. 

Nolan smiled to himself. Then, he walked over and stood beside Jessy. 

The two men looked at each other. They watched Nolan and then looked back at Jessy's face. "He is your lover, Jessy?" Marvin raised one eyebrow and looked incredulous. 

Jessy nodded her head quickly. She also smiled and looked at Nolan, who was beside her. "Yes, he is my fiancé. We have a very close relationship."

The man returned his attention to Nolan. His eyes moved up and down, examining Nolan's appearance from top to bottom. Even as he watched him, he did not find anything that seemed out of the ordinary about the man.

"What family are you from?" Marvin asked that with a sharp look in his eyes. 

He had never seen Nolan at all before. Likewise, with his companion, that man had also never seen or known Nolan at all. 

Meanwhile, Nolan looked at him coldly. He did not react in any way. Not knowing that they would question it, Nolan didn't even know who the two men with Jessy were. 

Just as Nolan was about to answer, Jessy suddenly wrapped her arms around him. Showing the harmony between them. "He is Nolan, a man of great genius. And he'll get his own name."

Jessy's gaze turned sardonic as she looked back at the two men before her. Smirking with mockery. "Nolan is very different from you guys, who can only rely on the strength of your families." 

Marvin was amazed by Jessy's confession. No wonder, if the man only looked ordinary and he didn't know him at all. Until Marvin couldn't stop himself from laughing.

"Jessy, don't be naive. He's not the ideal man for you."

"Look, he even looks very lame and very strange. Very different from me." Marvin gave an insult without hesitation. "In fact, I'm pretty sure that guy will never be able to bring you happiness."

Jessy exhaled. She was very upset with what Marvin said. "I don't care, and I know my choice very well."

Marvin clenched his fists. In his opinion, Jessy was too much. How could she be defeated by a poor man like Nolan? That aroused more anger for Marvin. 

Marvin wasn't going to let that lame guy take away the Jessy that should have been his. 

Marvin's gaze looked fiery. He pushed Nolan's body out of Jessy's grip. "Get away from Jessy. I'll give you 1 million dollars and leave Jessy now."

"Isn't that a lot of money for you. I'll give it to you now and get out of the way." Marvin said it out loud. Knowing that a man like Nolan only wanted money and would be weakened by cash. He was sure that he would get Jessy after this. 

Jessy was amazed. Right now, she was wringing her hands and getting very scared. She was worried that Nolan would accept Marvin's offer. Given that Nolan was in dire need of money, if that really happened, then everything would be very chaotic. 

Jessy's body became colder. She looked at Nolan, who didn't immediately answer.

Meanwhile, Marvin, was still consumed by anger. "Is it still not enough? I can give you 2 million dollars. But leave Jessy right now."

Jessy's hands became wetter. She bit her own lip. Especially when the man made an offer that was bigger than what Jessy had given to Nolan before. 

Jessy wasn't going to stay silent. She was going to put a stop to it. Just as Jessy was about to speak, she suddenly heard a voice that made her pause. 

"I rejected it!"
