A/N Hey readers. Lynxx is back with updates. I'm sincerely sorry for the lack of updates for the past few days. I don't want to lie. The reason is I've been feeling a bit lazy and my workload was much. But seeing the number of new readers I had now made me feel guilty about it. Hope you can forgive me, please? I was also stockpiling chapters for February, so I can assure you (not promising though) that there will be daily and regular updates in February. If possible two chapters per day. So there won't be many updates in the remaining months of January but there will be in December. Lynxx is no longer lazy, readers. Thanks, y'all who stayed. It means so much. If you've read the previous chapter before this one, you might want to remove this book from your library and add it again. I made a change to that chapter. Don't worry about the chapters you paid for. They'll remain unlocked. I made this chapter free for you. Enjoy, y'all.Mwaah. ******* Brian stared at the photo in be
The night was accompanied by a chilly wind that blew Edward's neck-length hair. Edward stood on the manor's rooftop, gazing upon the wide view of the forest and lights from Wesville in the distance. From the rooftop, it was a beauty to behold. He held a lit cigarette in his left hand. Crickets or some other animals were probably making some noises in the forest but because of the distance between the manor and the forest, not a sound could be heard unless you included the whipping of the wind. Below, in the compound, the Gray Guardians who had the night shift stood in their positions, with shades on their face, armed and alert as always. Anyone who saw Edward would know immediately he was deep in thought as he smoked. He wasn't a usual smoker but smoking always helped him in critical thinking. "Hey, Eddie." Richard's voice said and Edward turned to see Richard standing by the doorway. "Is it okay to join you?" Richard raised his brows at him. Edward started at him for less than
An awkward and uncomfortable silence dwelt among Brian and Edward as Brian stood beside his father, resting his arms on the wall and breathing steadily. It wasn't until he glanced at the cigarette pack that Brian broke the silence."Can I have one of those?""Have you smoked before?" Edward asked.Brian shrugged. "There's a first time for everything." Edward thought for a moment before shrugging. What was the worst that could happen? Brian was an adult already. And he probably won't like it much.Brian took a cigarette out and lit the tip with the lighter."Suck gently," Edward told him and Brian did as he was told. He felt smoke fill up his mouth. "Now, swallow."Brian tried to swallow but the bitter tobacco taste wouldn't just go down his throat. He jerked back and coughed. It was the worst thing he had ever tasted."Yuck. That's horrible." Brian gagged, crunching his face with disgust. "How do you guys take this with a straight face?""You'll get used to it if you take it often."
"What happened to the Knights?" asked Brian. They haven't been news about the Knights. They weren't really popular like the Addams, so their absence didn't bother everyone much. Brian wouldn't be surprised if no one knew about them. Edward answered. "The whole Knights engaged in the battle so they died in the building. The Knights don't exist anymore." Brian scoffed inwardly. Served them right. "What about the Lennox?" asked Brian. "The Knights attacked the Lennox first in their mansion and assassinated them all except Richard. He managed to escape." Brian covered his mouth, muffling the gasp that escaped his lips. Greed made the Knights evil to this extent? The power of envy and greed shouldn't be underestimated. Good thing Edward and Richard were able to survive, else, the bloodline of the Addams and Lennox would have been wiped out. Brian slowly let his hand drop from his lips. "It must have been really hard coping with all of this." Edward smiled, but Brian almost saw p
"Here we are." The taxi driver told his passengers, Christabel and Margaret."Finally, " breathed Margaret. She handed the driver twenty dollars. "Keep the change."They emerged out of the taxi with their handbags, careful not to splash water on themselves as the road was wet from the rain that just fell.As the taxi drove past behind her, they gazed upon the luxurious house she just arrived at which wasn't unfamiliar to them. "Great." Margaret rubbed her palms together. They were both dressed in bum shorts that barely covered half of their thigh and furry jackets. Their faces were beautified with makeup."Go on. Press the intercom." Margaret ushered her as she applied pink lipstick on her lips.Christabel just stared at the gate and fidgeted her finger. Cold wind fell on her bare legs causing shivers to run through her.Margaret frowned at her when she hesitated. "What's the matter?""I...I have a bad feeling about this.""It's your first time doing this. So it's normal to feel nerv
Finn looked at them, his grin turning to a smirk. "I mean, why won't I? I produced the drug after all." Margaret frowned. "What do you mean by that?" "Don't think much about it, dear." Finn wavered his hand. Just then, a beep was heard and they turned. The words, "Encryption Complete" appeared in green uppercase letters on the screen and the laptop shut down immediately. You girls did a great job though. Using EXT-35 to drug them and carry on with the mission? Kinda cliche but still pretty good." Margaret walked back took the flash drive from the laptop and moved back to her original position. "Well, you busted us." She said flinging her hair behind her shoulder blade. She walked towards him slowly, swaying her hips side-to-side. Christabel knew at once what she was trying to do. "What are you going to do? Report us to the police?" asked Margaret when she reached him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and moved her body closer to him, making sure her chest was closer to his
Brian stepped into Star City University with Melanie, Charlene, and Dalton three days after his arrival. It was Wednesday. After being absent from school for three weeks, coming in now felt...odd to him. He had never been suspended before. Was this how it felt to return after being suspended? As they walked towards the main building, students walking around them glanced at him and murmured to themselves. He guessed three weeks of his absence didn't suppress the rumors."Look, the gay couple are back." Brian heard some female students murmur among themselves as they moved past them."Gosh, we are still on this?" Dalton groaned. "Well, it's going to be one hell of a class today.""I don't see the point of coming to this school," Melanie said. "We've lost too many points. To get promoted to the next class we'll have to score a hundred percent and that's technically not possible unless you consider cheating.""Let's just enroll into another," added Charlene."I know. But I can't just lea
Later that day, at seven o'clock in Richard's mansion, Brian sat under a gazebo near the swimming pool with Melanie and Charlene. Dalton was inside the mansion. "Wait hold on." Charlene held up her hand after listening to Brian's hypothesis of Mr. Jim's departure. "What makes you think he was kidnapped?""I just said it. It's unusual for Mr. Jim to leave without informing us." Brian said."Maybe he forgot or something else happened.""It's been a month and nothing. Trust me, Charlene. Something is up. Mr. Jim would have called us unless something happened.""And you think he's been kidnapped?" "Well...considering the current crisis going on in our city, it is possible," Melanie said. "I hope these kidnappers get caught soon and peace will return to our beloved city.""Are they really kidnappers though? I mean if they were kidnappers they'd have dropped a note for ransom and so far we haven't heard of any ransom conditions." Charlene pointed out. Brian hummed as he thought of this.
